McLennan is refusing to be controlled, as Sherkov sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McLennan works his way to full guard. Good work. Sherkov looking to sit in guard and control but McLennan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR##SUB2# Sherkov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McLennan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McLennan trying to control the position from guard on top but Sherkov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sherkov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Sherkov grinds an elbow into McLennan's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sherkov working the ground and pound. You can see the frustration on McLennan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sherkov wants to lay and pray for a moment but McLennan keeps working. Sherkov tries to counter with a takedown but Koskitov is quick to defend against it. Sherkov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sherkov shoots for a takedown but Koskitov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Sherkov shoots in for a takedown but Koskitov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. As Sherkov backs off Koskitov throws a huge counter combo but Sherkov manages to avoid it all. Koskitov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. That was a close round but I would say that Victor Sherkov will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Tannenbaum misses with a low kick as Sherkov jumps back. Sherkov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Tannenbaum bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sherkov's head backwards. Klaus Tannenbaum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tannenbaum throws a body shot but no joy. Tannenbaum throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sherkov sees it coming and avoids it easily. Tannenbaum tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sherkov was well out of range. Poor timing from Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum scores with a decent looking hook. Tannenbaum lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tannenbaum's coach down at Cozad Amsterdam was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tannenbaum's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. A big left from Tannenbaum misses. Sherkov seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Tannenbaum lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sherkov tries to free his leg and advance position but Brazil is retaining full guard. Sherkov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brazil works some decent striking defense from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
