Malt gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Blankenship to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Blankenship connects with a nice short shot to Malt's temple.

Felding connects with the punch.
Malt tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Felding defends well and Malt ends up having to push Felding into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Felding ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Malt takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Malt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The fight stays on the outside here - Malt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Malt lands a head kick. Felding smiles back at him and beckons him forward. #CUT#
It looks like Mo Felding has been cut.
Good standup being displayed there by Felding as he connects with a hook.
Malt moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Malt lands a front kick.
Malt misses with a takedown
and Felding cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Malt uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Felding.
Malt takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.#T1#
Felding lands a jab to the nose.#ROC2#
Malt is rocked!
BOOM! Felding lands a beautiful left hook that drops Malt. Malt tries to recover but Felding is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Malt lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mo Felding!

Gardner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Burt to score an easy takedown into full guard.#SUB2#
Burt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Burt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. #SUB#
Burt looking to improve position, pressing down on Gardner's thigh with his hand. Gardner seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Burt paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Burt's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Gardner picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
