#R1# Solis defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Damato. Damato shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Solis but Solis pushes him off and we're back to square one.#CL2# Damato has managed to clinch.
Solis tries to land a knee to the head but Damato blocks with his arms.
#BC2# Damato's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Damato throws a head kick but Solis moves out of range.
Solis really is a fat lump.#TD# Solis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.#ES2# Damato is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Solis presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Damato tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Solis just stands there and leans against the cage. Vincent Solis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Damato. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Solis lands on the inside with an uppercut. Solis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Solis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Solis lands a couple of decent looking shots. That was a close round but I would say that Vincent Solis will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Vincent Solis's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. #R2# Damato shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Solis sprawls well. Solis stacks Damato on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Damato is breathing heavily. Damato stays in close to Solis's body and controls the position. Solis pulls Damato in to control the position. #T3# Damato wants to get up but he can't break Solis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Damato trying to control the position from guard on top but Solis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Damato stopping the sweep attempt from Solis. Damato looking to sit in guard and control but Solis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Damato trying to keep a closed guard but Solis is proving a slippery customer.

Damato is looking for a sweep. Solis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Solis lands with a punch from half guard. Ground and pound from Solis. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Solis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Solis stops Damato from getting back to his feet.

Vincent Solis dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Vincent Solis's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! #R3# Solis steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Damato. That one must have hurt. Damato looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Solis is fending him off so far but Damato persists. Nope, Solis circles away and we're back to standing. Solis has a takedown stuffed. It looked like Solis was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Solis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.#T1##TD# Solis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.#ES2# Damato manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.#CL# Solis moves into range and clinches up with Damato. Solis tries to break the clinch but Damato is controlling the position. Solis fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vincent Solis. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Solis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
