#R1##TD2# Santrach looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Dixon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Santrach's guard. #REVR# Santrach looking for a sweep. Not yet Santrach, not yet. Dixon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santrach looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dixon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dixon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Santrach trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Dixon manages to pass to mount!

Dixon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Santrach for as long as he can get away with. Santrach rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Roman Santrach has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dixon remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darwin Dixon. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dixon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. #R1# Hobbs tries to clinch up but Thompson circles away and keeps his distance.#CL# Thompson gets tackled into the cage by Hobbs. Hobbs maintains the clinch. #BC2# Thompson breaks the clinch.
Hobbs on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Hobbs ducks under a wild hook from Thompson. A punch lands to the side of Hobbs 's head but he takes it in his stride.#CUT2# It looks like Fritz Hobbs has been cut. Thompson circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Hobbs to the canvas! Hobbs doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Thompson keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trevor Thompson! A very excited looking Trevor Thompson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
