#R1##TD2# A momentary lapse in concentration from Curtis enables Hangel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Curtis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hangel scoring with some ground and pound. Curtis being controlled here, momentarily. Hangel lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hangel pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Curtis is keeping the position for now. #SUB# Curtis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hangel engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Hangel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Curtis is breathing heavily.#T1# Hangel cracks Curtis with a solid left hand. Hangel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. It looks like Hangel might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Hangel stopping the sweep attempt from Curtis.#T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Curtis working a defensive guard here.
Curtis keeping full guard, as Hangel tries to pass. #REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hangel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.#CL2# The fight moves into the clinch position.#BC2# Hangel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Curtis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hangel is fending him off so far but Curtis persists. Nope, Hangel circles away and we're back to standing. Hangel wants to counter the offense by Curtis and move into the clinch position. Curtis misses with a takedown attempt - Hangel sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.#T3# Some wild striking there from Hangel.

Curtis is fighting to maintain full guard but Hangel has managed to sneak the leg through. Hangel scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Curtis is looking to improve his position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hangel lands a nice short elbow. Hangel sitting and controlling from the half guard. Hangel working the head and body with strikes. Curtis won't allow Hangel to pass to mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! #BC2# Hangel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Curtis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Curtis shoots for a double leg takedown but Hangel sprawls well. He's pushed Curtis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hangel bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Curtis's head.#CUT2#It looks like Cottonpicker Curtis has been cut. We've been told by Curtis's head coaches at Cozad MMA New York that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. No chance. #T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hangel seems keen to control Curtis's posture.#REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Curtis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hangel defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cottonpicker Curtis. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD2# Hangel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Curtis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hangel is in Curtis's guard. The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!#R3##TD2# Hangel closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Curtis's guard. Hangel stays in close to Curtis's body and controls the position. Hangel is looking to stand up but Curtis won't let him. Hangel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Curtis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hangel stuffs the takedown.#CL2# Hangel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hangel lands with a left to the head. Cottonpicker Curtis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Amit Hangel is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.#TD2# Hangel has Curtis pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hangel pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Curtis tumbling to the mat - Hangel dives into Curtis's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Amit Hangel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hangel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
