Seasn Soffman Interview (KOTB)

Fighter profile of Sean The Strangler by

Hey Sean, thanks for joining us.

Thanks for having me!

You’re 3-0 in your career and here at KOTB, do you see this fight going any differently?

Wright is by far my toughest opponent to date. He is strong at standup and is no slouch on the ground either. Me and my coaches are working on some things and I'm hoping to bring a quick submission.

You were known as one of the most dangerous blue belts in the world, how does it feel to finally get your purple belt?

My trainer had wanted to promote me for awhile, but I felt I wasn't ready, I felt that I needed to prove myself on the mat. Once I won the KOTB belt it was finally time to get the purple, and now I'm working hard on my brown!

What are your thoughts on your upcoming title fight?

If I said I wasn't nervous I’d be telling a lie. It

MMA - Bloodsport or profound competition?

- Bloodsport or profound competition?

Being a fan of mixed martial arts for quite some time now, I have often asked myself the same question over and over again? What is it that draws the masses towards this sports?

Back in the 90´s when the first MMA organisations started, the term "MMA" hasn´t even come to existance, it was referred to as "Extreme Fighting" or "Cage Fighting". And over here in Germany(where I was born and raised) it did not have a good reputation at all- it was considered brutal, primitive and potentially lethal to the competitors( and in some ways this perception has not changed very much over the years since MMA is still banned on german TV) . Comparisons to the Gladiator fights in ancient rome were all over the place- men fighting for their lives just to please the audience. In return, the audience would have no regard for the wellbeing of the com

Micheal Alvarez wins the trilogy

Fighter profile of Michael Alvarez by Rain Thunder

ROV 50 was a mixed martial arts event in St. Petersburg Co-Headlined by Micheal Alvarez and Damien Redman. It was the third clash between these two warriors that had an even score of 1-1 against each other before heading to this bout. Both guys are Former Featherweight ROV champions, and the bout was said to be a barnburner. And it was.

The first time they met they had a bloody fight in which Redman and Alvarez traded elbows for 5 rounds until Alvarez lost by TKO due to cut.

The second time they fought, Alvarez gripped up the victory by UD (48-47) and captured the ROV Featherweight title.

This time, Alvarez has shown true potential and won the fight by UD (50-45). He has completely dominated the fight in all assets of the game, even in the areas in which Redman was believed to excel. Now, Alvarez is scheduled to fight Renan Melo, a grappler that has recently fought for the title and lost a close fight to Bostar Tyranni
