ISLAND FIGHTS was a masterpiece of pyrotechnics works and live music displays that kept the fans warm and entertained , mix that with high level of alcohol and adrenaline.....we had an explosive night with two best fighters in the featherweight division having their rematch here....the first fight headed a very successful event and this one did the same the trash talk in the build up was intense, but not as intense as the first fight preview.....the rest of the card was a peach too particularly the performance of the next middleweight title contestant.....Let me break it down for you:

MAIN EVENT 145 lbs TITLE FIGHT Hop Sing Jung vs Ivan Maksim

Nothing else to had Sing affirmed himself has the champion and p4p best fighter in the island after his win here....he made sure no questions were left unanswered and this time he didn't left to the judges....he finish the fight like a champion should....again a very good performance and an imp

Vale Tudo Fight Club Preview  (Card Subject to Change)
Event: VTFC 1: New Breed - 31/3/2016 @ The Underground - Montreal

And so it begins -- the birth of a new organization in Montreal.  Please remember that many of the fighters are new, so the data we have on them is limited.

#1 (205 lbs) - Kalebra (289427) (0-1-0) vs. Thane (289345) (0-1-0)
In the first match of the evening, we have Leon "The Cleaner" Kalebra coming to us by way of Paris, France taking on Thomas "Right-Hook" Thane who hails from Harrisburgh in the United States.  Both men suffered a defeat in their MMA debuts, but tonight should change the fortunes of one of these men, (unless they draw, that'd be disappointing for them).  Thane is the shorter of the fighters, which should make it easier to secure the takedown on Kalebra.  Thane will also be able to keep better check of his shorter limbs, potentially preventing them from being isolated.  Kalebra will be looking to get to the ground and lock in a submission while Thane will look to ground an

Diode Looking Good as Ever at 35

Fighter profile of Light Diode by Abe Eaton

Light Diode, once ranked the 5th best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, is seeing a career resurgence after several months of "an upward struggle," Diode, 25-10, has strung together three consecutive wins after struggling with successive losses that forced him to "seriously contemplate retirement."

Now signed with CEC, Diode won his organizational debut with a sharp first round knockout over Brownie Anderson at 1:33. Signed by current manager Abe Eaton in December 2014, Abe was

GAMMA: Stelio Kontos Interview

Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

Because of the fact that Stelios doesn't speak English, the translator Giorgios Pradastadapalopulos will be the one who answers the questions in this interview.

He apologize in advance if something gets lost in translation.

Question #1 Stelios, welcome to GAMMA! You are a well known indy talent, why did you decide to join up with GAMMA?

“Thank you very much. I’m glad to be a part of the best and the most interesting org that GAMMA is at the moment.

I started out late with MMA, and it was mostly because I had to make a living and earn some quick money. Life in my home country Greece has taken the turn for the worse after the economic collapse a couple of years ago.

So I traveled overseas and started out in small arenas across the continent, from Hilo, to L A. and Montreal before I ended up in New York. Just scraping the bottom of the barrel to make a quick buck. But I had the luck to impress someone important, because I got because out of the blue I was offered a good contract to join GAMMA, which I didn't hesitate to accept. So, here I am. Making a decent living and having a great time doing so for GAMMA.”

Question #2 You are currently on a 7 fight winning streak, 2 wins i

Fight Factory Opens in Montreal

Fight Factory, Gym, Montreal
Company profile by Alexander Melchiott

So it seems that Alexander Melchiott guy is at it again.  In a press release, the founder of The Foundry, (currently operated by his partner in crime, Antony Conway), declared the opening of a new project.  Claiming there was, once again, a gap in the Montreal training scene, Melchiott announced the opening of the Fight Factory.  The Fight Factory will be a well-maintained, high-quality gym with elite staff.  Melchiott hopes this new endeavor will prove fruitful to the MMA scene in Montreal.

After sharing a bit of his recent frustrations with the lack of gyms in Montreal and the current unreliability of one, Melchiott said that ultimately it isn't he that is suffering from the lack of training options.  Melchiott pointed towards the sport in general, claiming that the fighters in Montreal are unable to get the quality training they need in order to remain competitive with the rest of the world.  The fans also deserve better, as no-one is interested in watching sub-par fighters flail about in the cage.

Melchiott hopes that the fighters and managers of Montreal will appreciate his recent efforts to improve the training

Island FC Preview (Card Subject to Change)

*Do to this being submitted late, I think the card has been updated.  Sorry for not covering the event in its entirety.  I also may have missed the deadline.*

Event: ISLAND FIGHTS 2 - 18/3/2016 @ Hard Knocks - The Island

Tonight the Lightweight Championship will be defended!  We have a strong series of matches on the line-up tonight.

#1 (170 lbs) - Kurnia (287072)  (0-2-0) vs. Ignacio (289508)  (0-1-0)

An 18 year old will be taking on a 25 year old in the opening match for this event.  Neither man has managed to find that elusive first win, but tonight will prove, (hopefully), to be a pivotal point in one of their careers.  A wrestler will be taking on a boxer here.  Kurnia is a bit obvious with his takedowns, but Ignacio has already suffered a knockout in the 16 seconds he spent inside the cage.  Ignacio will look to keep Kurnia at bay with strikes to prevent

Nutrition in Montreal

Editorial by Lee Morrison

Nutrition plays a big part in making a fighter fit for the cage or the ring.  Yet in Montreal there seems to be a limited selection of companies providing proper supplements needed for a fighter's training.  With only two companies, Héritage! and Milwaukee's Best 160 (80% laundry), the products they provide still does not fill the demands of the market.  With new fighters stepping into the gyms each day it is this writer's firm belief that we need more nutrition companies to not only provide good products but also healthy competition.  Let's face it, in today's competetive world of Mixed-Martial Arts, hard work and training alone cannot help a fighter be in the best condition he can be before a fight.  No!  Supplements are needed to go hand in hand with training in order to achieve this, from strength, recovery, stamina, weight loss and weight gain
