RISE 144: Kamara smokes Chomofsky

Editorial by Chris Karter

Shortly after Tagnarach Kamara (11-0) knocked out Linkavitch Chomofsky (10-4) at RISE 144, he was consoling his opponent.

Kamara revealed his post-fight words to Chomofsky after his first-round knockout, and he said his message was meant to motivate his opponent.   “This is a really important moment for us, and when my hand was raised, and he finally woke up to hear the results, I could see in his expression the desperation of like, ‘Fuck, I lost,’ and he looked like sad puppy dog,” Kamara explained after Sunday’s event in New York. “It’s like he saw his opportunity go away, but I just wanted to say to him, ‘No.’ I told him, ‘No, No. Hey, no. Iago Farfan (12-3-0) has given his first reaction to his Combate debut which will be a title unification bout against reigning Combate Heavyweight Champion Barron White (24-8-1).

The hype, as you can imagine, is real. It’s a great place for the Combate organization to be in and the same goes for mixed martial arts as a whole. The fans have been clamoring for the moment they get to see Iago Farfan in action, and that moment came last night when the bout was finalized and both men signed the dotted line.

Alas, while he’s made very few comments on social media, Iago hadn’t spoken in an interview format about the White match-up – until now.

“I’m looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to it. I feel good, feel energetic, feel ready. I’m throwing up my high kicks faster than I’m throwing up my jab. So, I’m very excited to get back.
