SYN's #1 Bantamweight vs #2 Bantamweight

Fighter profile of Luciano Ocampo by Chris Karter

Luciano Ocampo (16-7 MMA, 12-6 SYN) gets another shot at the illustrious Synchronicity Bantamweight Championship when he takes on Danny Cruz (25-0 MMA, 13-0 SYN) in a rematch for the ages. Luciano is riding a 4-fight win streak into his showdown with Danny Cruz. He's 6-1 in his last 7 fights with his only loss coming at the hands of the current champion, a loss that he surely wants to avenge considering how quickly he was put away.

Luciano Ocamp became famous as a 15 year old due to a mainstream case in Argentina, where Luciano beat up the mayor of Buenos Aires´s son, who was known as a notorious bully. Even though this action made him loved by most people, a corrupt Argentinian judge sentenced Luciano to 3 years in adult prison. After getting released at 18 years old, Luciano got picked up by Tomo The Chosen One who was impressed by his personality but also the strength Luciano developed in prison. Ever since that day Luciano has been training dilligently at Torcida MMA.

This bantamweight title fight taking place at SYN 1116 will be one of epic proportions, both these tiny sized fighters pack a hell of a punch, finishing the majority of their opponents off with devastating knockouts. Danny Cruz has 24 knockouts under his belt in 25 fights, including one over the current challenger. Ocampo on the other hand is a wild man, finishing his last 4 opponents in the 1st round, and the last two both under the first minute. He's not only finishing opponents, he's sending them to the shadow realm. Both these men are no doubt some of the hardest punchers any bantamweight has ever faced so you can almost guarantee this bout ends by knockout and the fans get their blood money's worth.

Pride Of Mexico

Fighter profile of Santiago Santos by Darren Russell

Today we introduce you to the next big thing coming out of Sonora, Mexico, and his name is Santiago Santos. He has a record of 14 wins 3 losses and 12 of those wins have come by way of knockout. The 200 cm 260 lb Mexican behemoth wears his pride on his sleeve, or in this case his chest ("Brown Pride" is tattooed across his upper torso), heading into every one of his matches.

The 29 year old Heavyweight fighter out of Mexican has gone from prospect to contender in the Combate Heavyweight division. Since starting his career 2-2, he's 12-1 in his last 13 bouts with his only loss coming by way of submission to Dave Handerson, a current competitor for the Combate Heavyweight title. If Santiago Santos keeps knocking out opponents in the fashion he has been, no doubt we will see a rematch between these two young superstars.

Synchronicity Signs Dangerous Middleweight Champion

Fighter profile of Ivan Jankovic by Antonio Hernandez

Synchronicity has brought another top ranked fighter to Syn City with the signing of Convicted Top Team's Ivan Jankovic. He is practically a hero in his hometown of Belgrade and a figure of MMA lore. He is the cousin of Marko "The Sniper" Jankovic, a former Odense Welterweight Champion on the regional scene.

Ivan was an amateur kickboxing champion in Serbia before moving to America to train at Convicted Top Team. He followed his cousin and their family roots to the gym to train with the very best available.

Ivan's career hasn't been one without controversy though. He took a dive in his debut to Free Valesquez from the imperialist scum. Free Valesquez is still fighting for his freedom in a communist court.

Ivan once head kicked the Ukraine Putin to end the war all by himself. Nations and NATO couldn't bring the war to an end, but Ivan was man enough to step up to the plate and achieve it. Ivan defeated the Russian Bear, not once, but twice. He really showed the world what he was made of and how fearless he was under pressure. The Russian Bear never stood a chance.

Exclusive Interview with Cody Shelton

Fighter profile of Cody Shelton by Big Jo

A cozy studio with a relaxed atmosphere, the walls adorned with posters of legendary fights and championship trophies. Cody Shelton sits comfortably, ready to share his thoughts, while journalist Koa Hanohano prepares a mix of serious and sharp-edged questions.

Koa Hanohano :
Welcome to a new episode of Spotlight! Today, I have the honor of speaking with one of MMA’s brightest rising stars, Cody Shelton. Fresh off his latest victory, he’s now a champion with seven wins under his belt and a reputation that hits just as hard as his punches. Cody, how are you feeling after that last fight?

Cody Shelton :
Hey Koa! I’m feeling pretty good, thanks. It’s always satisfying to see hard work pay off. That win against Bob Michigan felt like the culmination of everything I’ve been building toward. It’s just a shame he didn’t get up fast enough after the KO—I had a few questions lined up for him about life after consciousness.

Koa Hanohano:
Don’t worry, Cody. I’m sure he’s reflecting on his life choices while getting back on his feet, probably wondering if his brain has all its papers in order. That’s MMA for you: one good shot to the gut, and your day turns into a roller coaster ride. Just kidding—but seriously, you were impressive as always. How does someone go from being a fresh-faced BJJ belt holder to a brawler who can send anyone to dreamland in under two minutes?

Cody Shelton:
Haha, yeah, it’s been quite the shift. Someone once told me, “If you want to see if you’re a real fighter, drop your BJJ belt and see if you can still stand after a kick.” Of course, I’m joking, but there’s some truth in adapting. Initially, I aimed to be a pure grappler, but after a few striking sessions, I realized I had a knack for landing bombs. And honestly, I think it suits me better.

Koa Hanohano:
If you ask me, you’re the kind of guy who shouldn’t even bother with gloves—just wear destruction mitts. I watched your KO against Miles Janetty. Are you sure you didn’t send him on an all-expenses-paid vacation to dreamland? Let’s just say he earned a fast-track promotion to the “KO of the Week” club.

Jakarta's Finest Chasing Glory

Fighter profile of Lucas Traumen by Chris Karter

Lucas Traumen (23-2-0 MMA, 1-1 Combate) rebounded from his Combate debut with a knockout of the night performance against 34-year old Jacques Turcotte (37-24-0 MMA, 7-9 Combate) at C362: Duran vs Saitoh. Traumen wasted no time putting the pressure on the Canadian, who looked absolutely lethargic heading into the contest, and 10 punches to the head later and Turcotte's head was bouncing off the canvas merely 2 minutes and 54 seconds into the 1st round.

Traumen is set to take on Oscar "Carver" Blaydes (24-10-2 MMA, 4-1 Combate), the Brazilian favorite from Sao Paulo, in what is surely to be a number one contender bout between two of the top ranked lightweights in the world. Oscar is coming into the bout riding a 3 fight win streak, fresh off the most impressive victory of his career against former Combate champion Gunnar Bloodaxe (36-18-1 MMA, 10-3 Combate). Blaydes absolutely ragdolled Bloodaxe from start to finish, until the referee seen enough and waved the fight off 2 minutes and 36 seconds into the 3rd round. Even the blood-thirsty crowd was tired of watching Blaydes beat a defenseless opponent.
