Marek Siuta began his career as a throwaway. He lost his parents at a young age and moved to the U.S. from Poland in order to live with, and train with, his elder cousin. At only 14 years old, he made the move to Newark, NJ, to IronboundMMA where he would clean the gym daily. He was not the fastest learner, nor was he the most intelligent guy in the room, but he was tough, so he put in work. His cousin, Jan Siuta(17-11, 14 KO), was never a world beater. He barely managed a .500 win percentage at points, and has never held a promotional title. More of a businessman than a high-level fighter, Jan was to be Marek's mentor. So, Marek trained, and Jan coached.
In a gym with some very decent talent, he was overlooked. Even once he decided decided to go pro, there were multiple fighters his age that were considered more important. His own cousin, Jacek Siuta(6-2, 3 KO, 2 SUB) was set to compete in the SUMMIT tournament and recieved priority training. His best friend and roommate, Demyan Pulaski((7-4, 7 KO), was slated to compete in the notorious Shinjitsu tournament that ultimately fell apart, and obtained similar treatment. Marek was never positioned to be 'the star', he was a training partner for other prospects.
On the verge of being cut from his management team, he accepted his first professional fight, meant to highlight his opponent. A 'test' fight, one weight class up offered by a friendly camp. Marek showed his mettle, winning by first round KO. It was a surprise, but a welcome one. Since then, the man has not stopped.
At the age of 22, Marek Siuta is currently 12-0(12 KO), with 6 ENIGMA title fight victories. While tested by some opponents, such as Shirley Crabtree(6-5, 4 KO, 1 SUB) and Xicko Loco(9-3, 9 KO), he maintains a 100% win rate and a 100% finish rate. ENIGMA has now shut down his division and he is a free agent... a 12-0 free agent with a 100% finish rate.
He will most likely end up at BANZAI, looking to avenge his sparring partner's title loss, or kickboxing potentially, but at the moment, he gave a brief statement as to his plans, and staying true to his generally quiet demeanor: "Taking time off."
