Ice Age

Fighter profile of Vanilla Ice Cold by Aylib 2.0

Vanilla Ice Cold is off to pastures new. After a 14-1 run with Cornell Cage Fighting, Ice has now moved down a weight class and will now be fighting in las Vegas.

Ice and his management would like to thank CCF and its staff for their accomodations, whci allowed for Ice's development. During his time with CCF, Ice went from a green rookie surviving on heart to a formidable opponent that currently ranks 6th in his weight class. Ice's only defeat came via submission, in a battle where Ice refused to tap, waking up with his first loss after 7 wins. Ever since that loss, much attention has been dedicated to grappling--whether submission defense, wrestling, or even clinch. That loss, which snapped a 7-fight winning streak was used as a chance to re-evaluate management's direction with Ice's development, as well as the need to re-assess approaches to game-planning.

With more work dedicated to grappling, Ice was able to avenge his submission loss, knocking out Tom Jones, the man who put Ice to sleep via the arm triangle during their first encounter. Ice's dedication to grappling did not go unnoticed, as in his first victory via submission soon followed--Joe Santiago was finally caught with an armbar, after fighting off 11 submission attempts during the 2-round affair.

While Ice Cold remains a striker, as his 12 TKOs would attest to, his ground game has been steadily improving, and the word is that Ice wants to transition to a phase that would see him become less predictable and more dangerous, as he would be able to apply a healthy diet of kicks, takedowns and GnP to his already impressive striking.

How will he do at 135 and with tougher competition? We'll have to wait and see, but the prognosis is promising, as Ice has shown more than once that the driving force behind his success lies deeper than his apparent skillset. Waiting for his heart and mind to be tested, Ice is anxiously awaiting his debut with UPG, while once again thanking CCF and it's crew, sending them a shout out and stating that he is forever greatful towards them for giving him a start and standing by him, even during the sex-tape fiasco.
