ALWC 39 Berger vs. Bannon

We have a huge event coming up on Wednesday December 19th. This is your preview written by Aldous Snow and (Witt vs. Khan fight) written by Aaron Witt.

ALWC will be bringing you a big time pay per view live from the 209 Arena in Amsterdam.

Let’s take a look at the main fight card.

Starting off the main card is:

Gektor “equilibrium” Lombard 15-6-1(new)

Vs.

“Spicy” General Tso 25-16 (7-4 ALWC)

Gektor is a successful fighter that has newly joined our stacked 135 division and will start his time with us against ALWC veteran Tso. Both of these guys are tough and could be a close one. Tso is on a small skid losing 2 of his last 3 but a win here would put him back on track in his mission to someday win the 135 title. Gektor has great potential here and could start off with a bang if he defeats Tso. Both men have a good ground game with Tso probably being the better there and Lombard has the clear standup advantage. Hard to guess the results of this one.

Next up we have another thriller in the 135 division.

Pablo “The Fiend” Escobar 17-6 (5-2 ALWC)

Vs.

Marty Laguna 23-8 (3-0 ALWC)

Escobar is just coming off his 2nd loss to Jake Nelson for the title and looks to show that the rest of the division is still his prey. A win against the successful Laguna would put him right on track to where he wants to be. Marty Laguna has done well in his short time in ALWC raking in 3 straight wins including a win over Mike Brunner. A win against Escobar could shoot him into title talks real fast. Looking at the numbers Laguna actually appears to be the better boxer than the hard striking Escobar but his power may prove otherwise as his fans have seen before. Both are solid clinch fighters and the ground game is close but could go Escobar’s way if it ends up there where he could put his brown belt to use. This one has potential for a of the night award.

Climbing closer to the main event we have another big fight this one is for the 145 pound title.

The champion: Aaron “the animal” Witt 20-0-1 (8-0-1 ALWC)

Vs.

“Gamzat” Volk Khan 21-4 (6-4 ALWC)

My favorite going into this fight is Aaron Witt who is riding a long win streak, currently 20-0-1 in his professional MMA career, holding 6 fight of the nights, he sure is going to bring it come fight night, Volk Khan better have his angry face on, cause its gonna be a fight.

He is an expert tactician on the ground, a master of jiu jitsu, holding a 7 out of 20 wins by submission, and 5 victories via TKO strikes, he is a dangerous opponent standing up and on the ground. Training out of Miyagi Dojo, Amsterdam, he is a 5 time defending ALWC featherweight champion, undefeated, and undisputed, Aaron Witt.

On the other side, is Volk Khan, holding a current record of 21-4, 15 wins coming by submission, 4 submission of the nights, he is a dangerous opponent on the mat without a doubt, and with an granite chin, never knocked out or stopped in all 25 career fights, he should not be underestimated standing up. End result: Very hard to say, since both of them are very evenly matched on the ground, I would say either can get a 4th round submission, or UD win for Witt.

For your co-main event we have a rematch between two of the best 155ers in the world for the 155 pound title.

The champion: “The Mighty” Qing Kong 22-5 (7-0 ALWC)

Vs.

Allen “The King” Iverson 21-6 (8-2 ALWC)

In their last bout Kong dominated in a 5 round decision mixing up a lot kicks and punches while Iverson went hyper aggressive throwing a lot of punches but not landing the number that he is used to. I predict that like the last fight neither will be trying to take the fight to the ground and we will get to see another rock um sock um stand up fight. Will Kong mix up his strikes and play conservatively this time as well? Will Iverson try to try some kicks or punch combos or just stick with a barrage of single punches strategy? We will see.

Finally for your main event we have the 265+ title on the line.

The champion Dieter Berger 19-4 (2-0 ALWC)

Vs.

“The Cannon” Shannon Bannon 23-10 (4-1 ALWC)

Berger has taken the ALWC by storm and has quickly gained a foothold as the best of the division but Bannon is not an opponent to overlook. Bannon’s knockout power makes him a threat every time he walks in the cage. Berger may not share Bannon’s KO power but he brings a far more well rounded set of skills to the table including good boxing and MT ability to compliment his awesome ground game. Bergers’s elite wrestling and black belt BJJ may be way too much for Bannon to contend with. My prediction for this one would be with Berger by submission.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the fights.
