NGF 30 Preview

Main Event: Welterweight Title Fight

Zbigniew Mlotek-CHAMP (9-2, 2-0 NGF)v Zeddicus Starburst (6-1, 2-1 NGF)

“Hammer” Mlotek will put his Welterweight belt on the line vs “Dark Matter” Zeddicus Starburst. Zbigniew has won 5 straight and he will need to be at the top of his game to make it 6. Mlotek has won 3 KOTN awards in his last 5 wins, so some will argue he’s already at the top of his game. Starburst is a talented fighter with a lot of power, 4 of his 6 career wins have come by way of KO. Both fighters are not happy with their last fights, wins, but no finishes. This has all the makings of a FOTN! Can’t wait for this one, lets fight already! PREDICTION: Starburst, 4th round TKO.

Co-Main Event: Heavyweight Fight

Bob Probert (4-1 NGF)v Polish Engineer (6-3, 1-0 NGF)

“The Bruise Brother” Bob Probert will try and make it 5 in a row with a win over Polish Engineer. Both fighters are monsters, plain and simple. Engineer has a better skill set as far as all around, he is superior in wrestling and I think he’ll try to use that advantage to take Probert down and dominate him there. Probert has hands of stone, no doubts there, but he’s young and still has a lot to learn in other areas. This one’s gonna come down to if Probert can keep this standing, if he can, he can KO anyone. If Engineer gets this to the mat, he will punish Probert and end this quick. PREDICTION: Engineer, 2nd TKO.

Lightweight Fight

Pasi Nurminen (11-5-2, NGF DEBUT) v Neeyo Collin (5-2, 2-1 NGF)

Pasi “Nupe” Nurminen will finally make his NGF debut against 23 year old “Nicolin” Neeyo Collin. Nurminen is a very skilled fighter, he can take a fight and dominate in any area. A former SPFT champion, he’ll look to use his superior stand up skills to punish Collin. Neeyo is coming off a TKO win vs Alf Hooker at NGF 25. He is a brown belt at BJJ and I think he’ll try to get this to the mat and try for a submission. I don’t know if Collin holds much of an advantage there, but he’ll have his best shot there. I think Nurminen will just simply be too much for Collin. PREDICTION: Nurminen 1st round TKO.

Welterweight Fight

Razor Bush(8-4-1, 3-0 NGF) v Mustafa Graf (5-1, 1-1 NGF)

Razor “NO” Bush will look to move to 4-0 in the NGF and right into title contention by beating Mustafa Graf. Bush uses his superb wrestling skills to take his opponents down and drop bombs on them. He still is trying to develop his stand up more, but still, his wrestling and ground skills are far better at this point. I think he’ll come into this one with pretty much the same game plan. Graf will first try and stay standing, if so, he is far better standing then Bush and could end this one. This should be a good one! PREDICTION: Graf decision win.

Featherweight Fight

Billy Perez (7-0, NGF DEBUT) v Vito Ferrari (7-4, NGF DEBUT)

I’m personally looking forward to this fight more then any other. A bout between two 23 year old NGF rookies. Billy “Two Guns” Perez will look to make it 8 straight to start his MMA career. Perez is a submission artist, he has fantastic wrestling skills and looks for the take down right away. He’ll get there and will rain down thunder. Vito “Italiano” Ferrari has so much talent, he is comfortable at every position of a MMA fight. He was a former DPEF champion and he is well seasoned and has finished all 7 of his wins by TKO. This is such an exciting matchup, I think we are in for a good one! PREDICTION: Ferrari 2nd round TKO.

PRELIM CARD

Lightweight Fight

Clean Jaude Damn Vame (2-1 NGF) v Koji Murosaki (6-0, 4-0 NGF)

Last time we saw Clean Jaude “Bloodsocks” was at NGF Fight Night 8 where is was finishing Charles Bronson with a spectacular flying knee. He is talented and he knows how to KO someone, both wins have come by way of KO. Koji “Dragon” Murosaki is so dangerous, he is very good standing up, but he also holds a black belt in BJJ. He has had absolutely no problems so far in his MMA career, no fight has gotten out of the 1st round. Murosaki will most likely be the #1 contender with a win. PREDICTION: Murosaki, 1st round TKO.

Welterweight Fight

Dominick Napolitano (1-2, 1-1 NGF) v Dmitry Timonyn (8-5, 3-2 NGF)

Dominick “Sonny Black” Napolitano has a tough fight here and he’ll have to try and get inside on Dmitry “Tima” Timonyn and try and use his superior MT skills to win this one. Napolitano is coming off a decision loss to Zeddicus Starburst at NGF 23. Although it was a loss, his 2nd in the NGF, he performed well and showed real promise. Dmitry has had 2 title shots already, he’s been a champion in the NGF and he’ll look to move up again and take another shoot soon if he wins. Timonyn is one of the best stand up fighters in the entire NGF. He’ll win this if Dominick can’t get this fight to the mat. PREDICTION: Timonyn 2nd round KO.

Lightweight Fight

Alf Hooker (7-6, 0-3 NGF) v Reggie Smack (4-4, 3-4 NGF)

Alf Hooker has not had a good start to his NGF career. He’s winless, but he’s faced some very good competition in Neeyo Collin, Koji Murosaki, and Makoto Shibasaki, talk about a who’s who. Alf often tries for take downs and looks to lock his favorite submission, the armbar. He tries for submissions so much he often leaves himself open and that’s resulted in 5 loses by way of T(KO). Reggie “Whip” Smack has been all over the place. He’s won by decision, lost by decision, been submitted, KO’ed an opponent, looked good, looked bad…no consistency at all. The talk is he’s had his best training camp, so let’s see if Reggie can put together a winning streak. He is the better striker, so he’ll look to keep this standing. PREDICTION: Smack 1st round KO.

Welterweight Fight

Lionel Cascara (5-2, 1-2 NGF) v Miguel Costas (3-2, 1-2 NGF)

Lionel Cascara will look to spend most of this fight on the ground looking to submit Miguel Costas. Lionel has won 4 fights by submission and lost his 2 fights by submission. He is very good on the ground, but he has made a few mistakes that have cost him. Miguel Costas is coming off a submission lost at NGF 25 to Razor Bush. He likes to get on the mat and use his BJJ skills too, but I’m not sure that should be the game plan in this one. He has decent boxing skills, and I think he should look to keep this one standing. This looks to be a good matchup, let’s hope the house fire Costas had isn’t too big of a morale hit and distraction in this one. PREDICTION: Cascara decision win.
