HMMA 67 Preview

Event Preview: HMMA 67 Kimura v Rooney
HEROIC
2013-03-09, London, Hard Knocks - London
Author:

Hello everyone im “Sunhine” Weston Markson joined by Rudy “The Box” Knife and we are here to bring you HMMA 67 preview.  HMMA 67 takes place Saturday in London at the hard knocks arena.  It Showcases some very good talent and is a card full of mostly lightweight fighters.  This card is going to be fast paced and full of tension.

Rudy:   You may be an idiot but at least you are correct about the action on this card being fast paced, these guys are all extremely quick fighters and in the blink of an eye something crazy could happen.   There is also a lot of drama surrounding this card thanks to the headliner Masahiko Kimura, actually lets get in to that now.

MAIN EVENT

"The Gracie Killer" Masahiko Kimura (8-2)  v  Ryan "Wazza" Rooney (5-5)

Weston:  There is no doubting the skill of Kimura, nor Rooney, both men have been exceptional as of late.  Rooney started his career off poorly but has been on a huge turnaround winning 3 of his last 4, and in his last fight making his Lightweight debut dropping from welterweight he earned his biggest victory inside the HMMA cage yet when he beat former champion and Hall of famer Liam Machin.   Kimura has also been on a role and since joining HMMA is undefeated at 4-0 including wins against top level guys like Scott Lewis and Tom Stroud, but what sets Kimura apart is his attitude and yesterday at the weigh ins more drama surrounded Kimura when he said stopped and looked up at the poster and said “What the fuck man, Ryan who?? and his name is in the same size font as mine?? Where's Wilson?? What do you mean he aint got time for me?? he aint got time for the STAR attraction? Just for that Im gona beat this chump within the first round!! Fuck the fans and the main event Im gona make short work of this Ryan Rooney, better get the sponsors in early because I dont get paid by the minute.”  I for one cant stand this man his attitude is not acceptable his continued disregard for the fans and disrespect for his opponents and management is unprofessional and well….bitchy.  This guy is lucky we havnt crossed paths ourselves he is lucky my name hasn’t come out of his mouth, what a piece of work this crybaby is.

Rudy:  Weston to quote a friend “What in the blue hell” are you talking about!  Kimura is awesome, I love his attitude I love that he doenst give a shit for anyone he is my kinda guy he plays the role I played he knows how to work people up and get under their skin just like I do you!  Whats best is he backs it all up by going out and submitting everyone like he is rolling with a bunch of white belts, HE IS AMAZING!   If you cant see that you’re a bloody c**t.  Now I talked to tcres earlier today and he issued a statement, “ I don’t know what Kimura is talking about he is angry at the choice of opponent? Angry that I was not at the weigh ins?  I was right there I tried to talk to him and he walked away its cool though we will get this straightend out Kimura is a great fighter and I enjoy watching him fight.  That wont change.”  Now if you ask me I think Kimura has a distinct advantage on the ground and should look pick up another submission win, and even though he may discredit Rooney he shouldn’t he is really coming into his own and has looked really impressive lately.  I think he will look to keep the fight standing and take Kimura’s head off!

Prediction:  Kimura round one armbar.

Weston: NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! this little disrespectful shit isn’t winning this fight let us all hope he comes out on the losing end!

Prediction of my own:  I get in the cage and beat Kimura’s ass, if my boy Rooney doesn’t get the job done but he will.

Rudy:  Weston you have 40 lbs on Masahiko and he would still KO you in less then 10 seconds, you have NO CHIN BRO!

CO-MAIN EVENT

Tom "Corpsegrinder" Stroud (12-6) v  Seany Scholes (8-7)

Weston:  The CO-MIAIN event of the evening is another lightweight fight between two men who have been close to taking the next step and becoming a serious threat in the division but just seem to fall short every time, now on a rebound both men have won 3 out of their last 4 fights and looking to make a bigger name for themselves as they climb the ladder and try to establish themselves as elite.

Rudy:  This is a fight I have really wanted to see and now I get too!  Both fighters have been very close to becoming a title contender before and now with them paired up against each other one will prevail and take that next step into possible contention.  Both of these men are well rounded fighters and could potentially win the fight wherever it goes, but Scholes has shown he has the better ground game with 6 out of his 8 wins coming by submission.  Stroud has proven he can when in any method, but his ground game is not as good as Scholes, Stroud does possess some power though so expect him to do what he can to keep this fight standing.

Prediction:  I think Scholes wins this by decision.
