 TTFC: Reilly vs. Chavez review

TTFC: Reilly vs. Chavez is in the books. In a very exciting card, we saw Giorgio Valentino defend his title after submitting Manuel "Pac-Man" Paquiao by way of strikes. In the co-main event Kris Marsh and "Orange" Julius Peppers stole the show, going a grueling 3 rounds ending in a unanimous decision in Kris Marsh's favor. In the main event, "The Comeback Kid" never really cameback falling to Ignatius Reilly  after a beautiful head kick followed by several strikes to the face before the referee jumped in.

Main Event

Ignatius Reilly def. "The Comeback Kid" Hugo Chavez via TKO (Kick and Punches) Round 2 (2:59)

Starting with the fight everyone was talking about, Ignatius Reilly vs Hugo Chavez was an evenly matched light heavyweight  battle that really lived up to the hype.Ignatius was cut early in the first round after Chavez cracked him with a well placed counter punch. After continuing with the back and forth stand up ignatius clinched Chavez up against the cage and really went to work on him putting together a pretty dominant first round. Both fighters came out in the second round ready to scrap but Reilly kept the heat on, landing the majority of the strikes. After getting dropped with a leg kick to an already welted up left leg, Chavez took a kick to the mid section before getting one to the head. He toppled again and Reilly swarmed on him this time ending the fight with a few more well placed shots, giving reilly the TKO victory after 2:59 in round 2.

Co-Main Event

Kris Marsh def. "Orange" Julius Peppers via Unanimous Decision

The co-main event delivered on it's promise of high action by delivering a fight of the night performance from two of the strongest competitors in the lightweight division. It was a back and forth battle that started out standing but was quickly brought to the ground in each round. the fight was dominated in the first round by "Orange" Julius but the final two rounds were in favor of Kris Marsh. An amazing fight that went the distance and ended with Kris Marsh's hand raised via unanimous decision, all judges scoring the fight 29:28.

Title Fight

Giorgio Valentino def. Manuel "Pac-Man" Paquiao via Submission (strikes) Round 2 (4:47)Giorgio Valentino  put his title on the line against "Pac-Man"  Paquiao. both fighters came out trading blows and the action was pretty even until Valentino caught Paquiao with a big left , putting him on queer street. He recovered and finished out the round. Round 2 was not that much different as both fighters stood and swung for the fences, but Valentino's stand up proved to be too much for Paquiao. Valentino eventually landed  a solid hook that stumbled Paquiao into the cage. Valentino swarmed, hitting himwith a straight and another hook that dropped him to the canvas. Valentino promptly pounced on him  and ended the fight with a few more unanswered strikes. Paguiao says "no mas" tapping out to strikes with 13 seconds left in the second round.
