Inside The UPF: Stevan Pruvhe

Fighter profile of Stefan Pruvhe by Dale Saw

Welcome to the newest episode of Inside The UPF. As always, I am your host Fred Meyer. Today on the show, I have a UPF middlweight veteran.. He has nine fights inside the UPF octagon and ten fights total. Ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for the very skilled Stefan Pruvhe.

Freddy: Hey Stefan and welcome to Inside The UPF. How are you today?

Stefan: Fine, I have been pumping my guns a lot lately as you can see [Flexes his arms]. How about some armwrestling, huh ?

Freddy: Um... Sure. But, I know I don't stand a chance. Haha. [puts his arm on the table.] Bring it on! [Pruvhe beats Freddy in a matter of seconds] Wow, you are strong. [rubs his arm] I'll feel that in the morning. Haha. So, Pruvhe tell us a little about yourself outside of training and fighting.

Stefan: You should come and hit the gym with me sometime. All that interviewing ain't gonna make you stronger. I'm kinda easy going guy. I like to relax at home when I'm not in a gym or a cage. I have a few beers and watch some Japanese games shows and laugh my ass off.

Freddy: Japanese game shows, huh? Do you speak Japanese? Have you ever been to Japan? I went there back when I was a kid with my folks. But, I don't really remember much from the trip. I was too young. Haha.

Stefan: I dont speak japanese, but I have visited Japan a few times on my holidays. I just think the japanese gameshows are pretty funny. For example; I remember one where Alistaire Overeem punched one dude in the face for a wrong answer.

Freddy: Wow! That's intence. Haha. So, is that the reason you got into MMA? To go on gameshows and punch people in the face? Haha. No really, how did you get in to training an fighting mma? How did you end up at the UPF?

Stefan:  It all started when my mom checked me in to boxing club when I was young to help me out with bullies. It turned out to be a great decision and I developed quickly. By the time I was fifteen, I was cracking jaws and puching teeth in. After competiting in the local boxing scene, I began to seek more challenges in MMA. I'm not quite sure how I did end up here. It's all kinda fuzzy, since my manager and I did the deal after a night out drinking. I do remember some sort of Scarface type of situation with cheap motel and chainsaw. Well not really, I really don't remember the details, since I was wasted. But, it has been a great ride so far here in UPF. At least, it's warm and the sun is shining.

Freddy: Haha. Scarface huh? Hookers and blow and all? Haha. Well that sounds like quite the journey. So, you think you will stay with the UPF? Or are you going to seek some varity?

Stefan: I like Hilo, so why not stay with UPF. I think I have a great thing going on here and that if I train hard, I could step up the competition. I have the boxing, but I'll have to start rolling more to get transition game going.

Freddy: Aw, I'm sure UPF fans and your fans alike will be happy that your staying. Haha. So that is your plans for the future for now at least? Stay in the UPF, train up your jiu-jitsu and wrestling and become a top contender if not the champ? Do you consider Chris Remnant to be a stepping stone?

Stefan: I think Chris is a challenge for me, he's a really good jiu-jitsu guy and I have to be on my toes ready to sprawl. Hopefully I can keep it standing and finish him quickly. My future plans mainly involve training more and listening to more metal, that's my cure for losses.

Freddy: Haha. Well good luck in that fight. We are getting short on time. Is there anything you would like to say to your opponent, anyone else in the division, or anyone else at all before we go?

Stefan: Well, I don't know man. I have seen smack talk on the forum by guys I have never heard of, or whom I never heard of. Mainly Reem who subbed Barch, whom I haven't heard from either. Damm, I don't... Should I start talking shit and being more like Sonnen? What do you think? Would the UPF give me more money if I do that? I think I carry power in these hands and if I got somebody in my crosshairs, they're going down fast.

Freddy: Haha. I am not sure if the UPF will pay more for that. But, there is only one way to find out. Ya never know. Anyways thanks for coming on the show today. Ladies and gentlemen your UPF middleweight veteran Stefan Pruvhe. And, next week on the show we will have the very big mouthed former actor turned fighter and always entertaining Charlie Sheen. That is one show that you guys will not want to miss. So tune in next week. Until next time, I'm Fred Meyer signing out.
