It's in the books, everyone. And what a night it was. The main event between Phantom Menace and Beswicke went a full 5 rounds with Menace remaining the champion. In the co-main event Sonny Corleone defeated Hugo Chavez with a series of devastating knees that put him out cold. The rest of the card was a very exciting build up to the main event and each fight went off without a hitch.
Main Event (Middleweight Championship)
“The Ghost Warrior” Phantom Menace (36-16-1) def. Braylon Beswicke (23-15-1) via Unaniomous Decision
Phantom Menace improved his rivalry record with Beswicke to 3-1 with his decision victory. He really proved he could go the distance and that he could step up with the title on the line. It was a pretty dominant victory for the champ as he easily won the first 4 rounds only losing the last one to Beswicke. With this win “The Ghost Warrior” not only showed his dominance of Braylon Beswicke, but also his dominance of the middleweight division at least until someone can prove him wrong.
Co-Main Event
Sonny Corleone(24-4-0) def. “The Comeback Kid” Hugo Chavez (19-11-0) via KO (knees) Round 1 (3:13)
What an exciting fight! Ended in the first by a series of 9 knees to the skull of Chavez, who just couldn't seem to get a handle on the muay thai of Corleone. Sonny Corleone walked away from this fight ranked number one in a division in which he is not the champion. Odd as that may seem it is because not only did he knock out Hugo Chavez, but also because current champion Tyson Gauge lost his last fight even though it wasn't a title fight. But it seems inevitable that these two will meet very soon.
