 <023 • Shock N Awe> - Preview And Predictions

On June 29, expect thousands of fans swarm The Red Light as they witness the greatest event Crucible Fights: Amsterdam has to offer, <023 • Shock N Awe>. The match card sponsored by the best nutrition company in the world FinnFighter Nutrition will feature four title bouts and the much anticipated trilogy of "The Tempest" Daniel Speed and Daniel Vieira Moreira.      Under Card:    10. (265) Hush Hanson vs. Mike "BeatBox" Thompkins  BeatBox can only redeem his submission loss to Nana Sekyere at QFC Tournament 203 Round 1 if and only if he can stop the debutant Hanson from getting this fight on the ground. Prediction: Hanson by Unanimous Decision   9. (205) Hamish "Hells" Bells vs. Maris "Stag" Briedis   Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be in hell? If not then just try to imagine you're Briedis, a stag that tends to cut, and you're sent down beneath the ground only to find yourself facing Bells, "hell" personified with great elbows. Prediction: Bells by TKO(Cuts) - 1st    8. (265) Hakon "Tyr" Hakonda vs. Nana "Guerilla" Sekyere  Hakonda is the better standup fighter between the two but the 203rd QFC Tournament winner Sekyere has proven that he can finish the job once the fight goes to ground.  Prediction: Sekyere by Submission (Guillotine) - 1st   7. (155) Carlos Evora  vs. JP Takedown Both of them are ground fighters so just like what Takedown's name is suggesting, the majority of this fight will be on the mat with a lot of submission attempts from both of them. Prediction: Evora by Submission (Armbar) - 3rd   6. (185) Barristan "Selmy The Second" The Bold vs. "Carbomber" Judah Krizbaduhl After losing his last match for the Middleweight Championship against Kenta Kobashi at <018 • Ready To Go>, Carbomber will need his exceptional muay thai abilities if he wants to beat The Bold known for his ruthless submissions and immense KO power. Prediction: Bold by TKO (Strikes) - 2nd     Main Card:    5. [170 - TITLE FIGHT] Alessandro Maximilian (6-1) vs. Alexander Kuoppala (3-0) If the first five fight of evening is not enough to make you excited, this fight will surely get you going. Kuoppala has earned his title shot after beating Saul Tigh and remain unbeaten, what's his secret? very dangerous knees and a granite chin. In just three fights, he already landed a total of 141 knees with only 151 knees attempted, wow! Like Kuoppala, Maximilian also has a granite chin but their difference is that Maximilian is a striking sensation, a man gifted with excellent punches and kicks which leaves him in a slight advantage over Kouppala in terms of outside fighting.  Prediction: Maximilian by Unanimous Decision   4. [185 - TITLE FIGHT] "Orange Crush" Kenta Kobashi (5-0) vs. Kalervi "Outo" Outolempi (7-1) Their first encounter was in <008 • From Zero To Hero> last April 6, Kobashi's evasiveness helped him stripped Outolempi's belt and held it ever since. Just like their first class, this fight will no doubt be a standup showdown between a boxer and a muay thai specialist. Outolempi will need to use his quick and heavy hands before Kobashi incapacitate him with his lethal kicks and make history repeat itself. Prediction: Kobashi by KO (Head Kick) - 2nd   3. [265 - TITLE FIGHT] Piotr Jazwinski (7-0) vs. "The Soviet Block" Sergei Mironov (6-0) Jazwinski's solid chin will be tested because his Heavyweight title is on the line as he confronts the heavy-handed Super Heavyweight Champion Mironov. Expect this fight to be a bone-crushing and jaw-dropping collision, because neither of them is willing to end their undefeated streak. This match is all about strength and whoever hits his opponent harder will be rewarded in the end. Prediction: Mironov by TKO (Strikes) - 1st   2. [155 - TITLE FIGHT] "The Norwegian Chainsaw" Harald Hillgrund (9-0) vs. "Bad" Mojo Nixon (7-3) Almost all of Nixon's wins end up with a submission, 6 out of 7 times, but I'm eager to see if he can pull one off as he battle the unbeaten Lightweight Champion Hillgrund known for his prominent ground and pound style. Nixon has the upper hand in standup striking bt Hillgrund's previous fights suggest that he's developing his punches in order to capitalize with his astonding KO power. Prediction: Hillgrund by TKO (Strikes) - 4th   1. [205] "The Tempest" Daniel Speed (24-5) vs. Daniel Vieira Moreira (17-7-1) It may not be a title fight but this matchup absolutely deserves to be the main event of the evening. Their 2nd enconter in the ring and 3rd overall will certainly settle their rivalry once and for all. Both of their previous bout has been a nail biter, marked by tense nervousness and apprehension, the first one was a very close decision win for Moreira the second was for Speed for throwing an beastly head kick. Just like their previous meeting, both men will try to emphasize their superiority over the other through standup and clinch fighting. I'd like to see a cut from both of them because it adds a little bit of nostalgia on what happens when the best fighters of Crucible Fights: Amsterdam collide. Prediction: Speed by Decision (Majority)    -Charles Lee Ray
