HEROIC

Author:

Hello everyone itsa me again “Sunshine” Weston Markson along with my cohost Rudy “The Box” Knife, and we have a special guest appearance tonight to break down HMMA 92 for all of you, everyone please welcome one of the Heroic fighters, one of the greatest fighters of all time former 3 weight class champion and member of the HoF John Saunders.   Hello John how are things.

John:  Well Rudy things are tough I just lost my return fight a couple weeks ago, but im back training and ready to do this again, now I get the opportunity to sit here in the studio with you and Rudy.  Ill tell ya this HMMA 92 is gonna cap off a great weekend for HMMA in London. Man this card is going to have fighters who will sometime down the road be getting title opportunities.

Rudy:  Wow sitting next to greatness yes it must be exhilarating right John?  I mean sitting next to me! That’s priceless bro.

#7 Kirk Laputa (18-5)  v  #8 Johnny Pitbull (21-9)

Weston:  The main event of the evening brought to you by Fighters First Nutrition is a fight in the heavyweight division as two top 10 ranked big fellas fight it out to see who progresses into the upper echelon and who takes a small step back to rebuild. The most recent fight for Kirk Laputa was his first trip to the HMMA cage now in his second appearance he hopes to be as successful as the first trip to HMMA’s cage, but this time around he has the honor of welcoming another new face.  Johnny Pitbull is new to HMMA but not to the world of MMA a champion in his previous org Pitbull comes to HMMA with the same expectations to become a champion.

John:  Write this down one of these two fighters will one day be competing for the HMMA heavyweight championship.   No im tellin you these two is serious man they really gonna come out and bang like no other.  YO I cant wait to see this fight bro its going to be fun!

Rudy:  John I think you may be correct.  Both of these fighters have potential, they both have brutal KO power these two have 32 combined (T)KO victories, both are well-rounded.  I expect this fight to be decided up close, in the clinch and on the ground.  Its going to be who has the better of those two areas that win this fight.  Laputa has an awesome clinch game, he is very active and dangerous in the clinch, while Pitbull has the better ground game.

Hey John who you got in this one?

Prediction:  I think the clinch game of Laputa earns him a victory here.

CO-MAIN EVENT

#4 Zoran Miloshevich (19-9)  v #10 Noel "The Duke" Smith (22-10)

Weston:  The CO-MAIN EVENT is a fight with a similar situation as the main event, one fighter is making his debut, and the other welcoming him in his second appearance.  Last time out Zoran Miloshevich sent shockwaves through the light-heavyweight division when he defeated former #1 contender John Conteh.  When he enters the cage Sunday he hopes to keep his streak of 4 straight wins alive and run it to five, but standing in his way is the debuting Noel Smith who hopes to shock the division just as his opponent did a short time ago.

John:  Let me tell you all something making your debut in HMMA is intense, never racking, you have about every emotion you can have.  I remember sitting backstage before my debut thinking OMG what if I lose, OMG maybe I should go over this again, oh I hope I don’t get hurt, I just really want to win.  The fear, the anxiety can be over whelming, but once you get that first fight out of the way it gets a little easier.   Sunday Noel Smith is taking a huge step forward making his debut but Zoran is still young into his HMMA career im sure backstage they will both be jittery waiting and waiting for their turn to fight.

Rudy:   These guys can fight anywhere, on the ground, in the clinch, standing, it doesn’t matter they have wins in just about every way conceivable.  The only thing I know for sure is they are both going to be looking for the kill as they have finished over 70% of their fights, jitters or not when the ref says fight these two are going to be full throttle until the ref says stop!

Prediction:  I think Zoran takes this one by late (T)KO

MAIN CARD

#6 Kung Lao (14-6) v  Gabe Faber (20-8)

Weston:  The last fight on the main card is a lightweight bout between 6th ranked Kung Lao and debuting Gabe Faber.  Lao’s last fight was his first loss in HMMA having gone previously 3-0 he was looking down the barrel of a loaded title shot, unfortunately he came up short and took a small step back now he welcomes what could be another great fighter making his debut in HMMA.  Gabe Faber comes into this fight having won his last two fights and looking for new opportunities and a chance to compete against the best.

John:  You gotta respect a guy like Faber he is coming into this fight and taking on the 6th ranked fighter in his debut.  Lao is a beast I was away for some time but I was still paying attention and I honestly thought Lao would come in and get that title shot in his last fight easily.  I think this is going to be a AMAZING fight, Lao wants to prove he is one of the best after his tough loss, and Faber wants to show he belongs.

Rudy:  Strikers, that’s what these two are primarily, although both can hold their own on the ground these two normally like to take the center of the cage and trade blows until someone falls.   Skill wise Faber probably has the advantage standing, but he also doesn’t have as good of a chin as Lao or quite as much power although that one is close and arguable.   I agree with John this is a good fight my pick for prefight FOTN honors.

Prediction:  I think Lao wins by decision

Anthony Abaddon (26-15) v #9 George Oven (15-7-2)

Weston:  The next fight on the main card is a middleweight fight.  George Oven is on the path of a career peak as he enters this fight on a 4 fight win streak after going 2-3 in his first 5 HMMA fights.  Oven is really picking up steam during this 4 fight win streak he has beaten a former #1 contender, and a champion/hall of famer.   Now Oven has what could be his biggest test yet for a chance to make a huge step into title contention when he battles debuting Anthony Abaddon.  Abaddon is a training partner of HMMA HoFer French Toast so you know the guy is tough, he comes into this fight with a lot of expectations as a possible contender.  Will he live up to the expectations or will George Oven continue to rise?

John:  Good fight right here, but it doesn’t really matter who wins soon I will have all three of my titles back and unfortunately for them that middleweight title they could eventually fight for is one of my titles.   No im just kidding I think both of these guys are great and Im really proud the see the growth of Oven.  Abaddon trains with a HMMA HoFer though so you know he will be ready.

Rudy:  These two are evenly matched they both have good standup although Abaddon’s is better, they both have good ground games but Oven’s is better.  I honestly don’t know what to expect in this fight but I imagine with 30 (T)KO’s between the two they will look to put the other to sleep.  Good luck cant wait to see this one.

Prediction:  KOTN for whoever wins.

High Voltage (25-14-4)  Rand "The Dragon Reborn" al Thor (17-10)

Weston:  The first fight on the main card is a light-heavyweight war between Rand al Thor, and High Voltage.   Rand al Thor started his HMMA career with a huge title wave winning a big fight and skyrocketing into the rankings, since that time though he has fallen on hard times winning just out of his last four fights.  For him this fight presents an opportunity to get back on track and find his former glory.  Voltage also started his career with a bang in HMMA and in his second fight he found himself with the chance to become the #1 contender.   A slip up costs him the chance and found himself starting a losing streak although it only lasted two fights, now sitting at 2-2 in HMMA Voltage will look to turn up the amps and prove he still has it.

John:  Hey look guys both of these fighters have fallen on hard time recently, I know what that’s like it can be devastating, I won my first 15 without losing a fight.  Now I am on a losing streak and its depressing.  Im sure both of these two have felt sick to their stomach knowing they are better then what they have shown recently.  I like both of these guys and I think they are talented, sometimes losing streaks are more mental then skills based and this could turn out to be a factor whoever has the clearer head will win.

Rudy:  High Voltage is exactly that he has POWER running through his body.  22 of his 29 wins have been by (T)KO.  Don’t look for Voltage to take this one to the ground instead expect him to test the chin of Rand al Thor, who will undoubtedly be doing the exact same.  If you thought Voltage was a KO artist then you need to get in touch with Rand al Thor because 16 of his 17 wins….have been by (T)KO.  I think someone is leaving this cage Sunday and getting checked for brain damage.  I know I wouldn’t want to get hit by either of these fighters.   John will you do the honors one last time?

Prediction:  I think Rand al Thor is taking this one by (T)KO.

Weston:  Well that’s all we have for you tonight thanks for tuning in and a special thanks to our guest John Saunders.

John:  Hey no problem this was fun thank you both of you and all the fans.

Rudy:  Good night.
