BJJ star Marcelo "Jibóia" Ribeiro set to make MMA debut

Rickson Gracie brown-belt Marcelo Ribeiro is set to make his long awaited MMA debut on the 2nd of August at Synchronicity's up coming event Syn' 246: Nailed in the Wandalay Bay located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ribeiro who has dominated the BJJ scene for years is set to face fellow BJJ superstar Morpheus Vulcan who having already competed 3 times previously will be coming in with a significant experience advantage over Ribeiro.

Ribeiro (0-0-0) is set to be a pretty big underdog coming into this fight having only ever competed on the BJJ mat and being lbs lighter than Morpheus he'll also be giving up a lot of size.

We recently caught up with Marcelo's manager John Titor to have a brief interview about this upcoming fight in which he told us that Marcelo is working very hard on all aspects of his game and that he expects this to be an intense chess match on the ground between two world class Jiu Jitsu fighters.

This fight is sure to be a very technical battle between two warriors and is going to be very interesting for both the MMA and BJJ community.
