IMMA 58 Where Legends are Born

It's been a little while, but Imperium MMA Live is back with a vengeance...with your host Jason Johnson! Kicking ass and taking names, we've got one of the most exciting events in Imperium MMA history on August 3rd when three champions square off in battles of epic preportions! Fans will sure get their money's worth, and we are here LIVE about to break down these jizz-worthy match-ups! Lets get to it!

Facebook Fights

Serega "Debef" Ukolov vs. Ivan "Ment" Dolbakov - 265+ Division

JJ's Quick Pick: This fight is extremely hard to call due to the on-and-off nature of Ukolov in his carrer at IMMA. Dolbakov is entirely too unmotivated to do much on the ground, where this fight should immediately go. 2nd round submission win for Ukolov to break the cycle.

Valera "The Soldier" Kamenskiy vs. Cloud Strife - 265 division

JJ's Quick Pick: A complete and utter mismatch, I fully expect Strife to activate his "limit break" and knock Kamenskiy into tomorrow. This fight gets JJ's "Bloody Knuckle" award for most one-sided beatdown of the night. Prediction: 1st round KO win for Strife.

Televised Preliminaries

Carlos Farofa vs. Ultimate Brutality - 205 division
- 2 FOTN and 1 KOTN honors in career for Carlos Farofa.
- 2 of 4 wins in Farofa's career by KO.
- 1 FOTN honor in career for Ultimate Brutality.
-  Brutality is an MMA veteran with 15 total fights and edge in experience.

JJ's Quick Pick: Its as if Ultimate Brutality's parents knew he would become a fighter; I like the fact that Farofa has no distinct advantage over Brutality even though Brutality is well-rounded...so I fully expect Brutality to snap that losing streak and get into the win column. Brutality by 2nd round submission.

Manga Rose vs. Gerard Bazinet - 145 division
- Manga Rose has never been submitted in his 14-fight career.
- Rose fought for 3 different orgs prior to his arrival at IMMA.
- Gerard Bazinet is 1-1 in his short stint at IMMA.
- All 4 of Bazinet's wins by submission.

JJ's Quick Pick: Manga Rose really let me down the last time we mentioned him in this segment, and I just don't have any confidence that his heart is still in the fighting game. On the other side, Bazinet is a known finisher who is 1 win away from returning to the .500 mark. Bazinet by 2nd round submission.

Jimmer Octopulus vs. Bo Nerr - 135 division
- Jimmer Octopulus finished all 4 opponents in his wins.
- Octopulus coming off a submission win at Fight for the Troops 2.
- Bo Nerr is 2-0 in IMMA.
-  6 of 7 wins of Nerr have been finishes.

JJ's Quick Pick: I see this fight being a back and forth, competitive affair with the outcome almost uncertain. While both men possess the power to knock eachother out...I don't see it happening this fight for either fighter. Any time a fight has gone the distance, Octopulus has fallen short...and I feel that happens again here. Bo Nerr by unanimous decision.

John Maia vs. "Midknight" Savo Tieros - 145 division
- John Maia 2-1 in IMMA circuit.
- Maia 2 SOTN awards within IMMA circuit.
- Savo Tieros is former bantamweight contender at OFC.
- Tieros 1-1 in IMMA circuit.

JJ's Quick Pick: Both men are extremely versatile, so expect this to be a truly great fight. Tieros has the distinct advantage on the feet, and should be able to keep it there while grinding his way to victory. I'm giving this fight JJ's "Golden Pillow" award for most boring fight; it should be a very technical and very boring fight for the fans. Tieros via unanimous decision.

Main Card

Craig "Cee-Chop" Clendennon vs. Charlie "Lucky" Luciano - 145 division

Opening up our main card features a potential number 1 contendership in the featherweight division as two sluggers square off in one cage. Craig Clendennon is riding a rather impressive 3 fight win streak, 1 of which came within the IMMA organization. Clendennon's clinch game is as good as they come, and he is known to make a man bleed worse than a horror flick victim. With 5 finishes and a 7-1 record, Clendennon will no doubt look to control everything that this fight entails. Charlie Luciano is a lot more than lucky; his last win came against the IMMA veteran and former IMMA featherweight champion Vitali Popov. Even more impressive is the takedown defense Luciano has shown in the past, giving him lee-way to dictate where the fight takes place. Luciano relies heavily on his boxing both standing and in the clinch, making him a devastating heavy-hitter in the featherweight division. Neither fighter should need the takedown defense as this fight has the makings of a stand-up war. I feel like this is a fight that should get into the clinch early and often, where both men feel they have the advantage...but only one man will win. The versatility and clinch-controlling ability of Clendennon should be enough to keep Luciano guessing and end in an absolute bloody mess of pain for Luciano. Clendennon to win via unanimous decision.

Oompa Loompa vs. "Lil Bastard" Mick Gerrard - 145 division Title

Our first title fight features the current undisputed featherweight champion, Oompa Loompa, against an IMMA newcomer but scary competitor Mick Gerrard. Oompa Loompa has already defied all odds in getting to the position he is in, winning the title in a brutal finish of Chuck Norris and splitting a close fight with Incan Bulb. The certified legal dwarf, Loompa has been able to utilize his versatile MMA game along with his gifted shortness to hang on to the title. Even today, Loompa's success has been a complete mystery to all of the IMMA fans across the world. Mick Gerrard has managed to "Chael Sonnen" his way into a title fight upon entry, but that doesn't mean that he is undeserved of the title shot. A 12-2 record with 9 KOs follows this mystery man into the ring and into IMMA. While we don't know what Garrard brings to the table, we certainly know what Oompa Loompa does...which puzzles me as to why he still hasnt been beaten. This should be a back and forth affair that should STILL leave all of us at IMMA puzzled as to how Loompa still has the belt. Loompa via split decision.

Co-Main Event

"Bartman" Bartholomew Roach vs. "Money Talks" Kimbo Slice Jr - 205 division Title

Get ready folks, because just the names in the light heavyweight division title fight will be enough to rock your socks! Undefeated phenom and IMMA Light Heavyweight champion Bartholomew Roach will square off against the rising star, Kimbo Slice Jr for all the marbles! Bartholomew Roach has had an absolutely stellar career, moving to an impressive 10-0 with ALL wins coming by way of knockout. Not only that, but only one of his opponents even survived the first round! The pure definition of a champion, Roach has rarely been tested...but Kimbo Slice Jr should certainly put his record to the ultimate test. Slice Jr is another spectacular finisher, having all 9 wins coming by first round finish. In Slice Jr's entire career, only ONCE has his fights gone the distance. Statistics would indicate that someone is going to get finished quickly in a striking war, but this has all the makings of such an evenly matched fight that we might see these two fighters beat the piss out of eachother for all 5 rounds. As much as we all would like to see that, these fighters simply don't have the ability to keep their opponent in this game...and I'm nominating this fight to be JJ's "Vegas Robbery" for biggest underdog payout. Don't be surprised if this fight gets to the ground that Kimbo Slice Jr would sneak in a beautiful transition to submission on the undefeated Roach. I'm going out on a limb here and saying Slice Jr with the 3rd round submission win.

Main Event

Don "Fire breather" Dragon vs. Johny Slicer - 265 division Title

In our last but certainly not least fight, a main event to headline a night of exciting championships where legends will be born, the charismatic champion Don Dragon takes on a relatively new face in Johny Slicer. If you've been living under a rock and haven't seen Don Dragon fight, you wouldn't know that Mr. Dragon has successfully defended his IMMA belt 5...count them...5 times, all by referee stoppages which shows the brutal nature his possesses. A inducted member into the IMMA hall of fame, Don Dragon is nearing the end of his career and looks to another title defense to keep his reputation in check and the contenders list shorter. Johny Slicer will look to pull off an upset of epic preportions when nearly everyone has this 23 year old kid already counted out. Slicer's only fight inside the IMMA octagon was a fabulous showing of how to beat an opponent down, as he won via unanimous decision against former RFC Heavyweight champion Vincent Van Den Broeck. This kid has a lot of heart and he truely believes he can dethrone the champion; will he be the first to hand Don Dragon a defeat within IMMA? Experts have already determined that Slicer isn't ready for Dragon yet...and I'm very inclined to believe them. He has the skillset, but I don't believe he'll have the correct gameplan excuted come fight day. Dragon via 2nd round TKO to retain the belt.

If you haven't aready booked your flight to see this spectacular card, make sure you have your ticket handy and get out there now! You won't want to miss whats in store for IMMA fans tomorrow night at the King Theatre! Jason Johnson, out!
