Fallen Champions
2013-08-09, Hilo, Hayashi's Lounge - Hilo
Author:Jonah King

Hello fight fans, its that time of the week again, time for me to bring you guys a preview for another great Fallen Champions event! Friday Night will mark the first time in org history that we have 2 Title fights on the same card, the Main event is the heated grudge match against 2-time Champion Shelby Toe and Solofa Fatu and with all the talk leading up to this one it is sure to be a bloodbath! Lets get started....

135lbs-Jean Claude Van Damme(2-3)(2-3)vsLeon Cratz(1-2)(1-1)-Van Damme by (t)KO in 1st Rd

205lbs-Tim Alvarez(2-5)(2-1)vsDale Williams(3-1)(0-0)-Williams by UD

155lbs-Greg Dellaria(5-9)(2-2)vsLord Steel Penn(2-2)(1-1)-Penn by Sub in 1st Rd

170lbs-#9.Sam Malone(5-2)(2-1)vsChras Watsky(6-11)(0-0)-Malone by UD

135lbs-#4.Amr Pendragon(4-0)(4-0)vsBarney Judge(3-1)(1-1)-Pendragon by (t)KO in 1st Rd

185lbs-#10.Master Sifu(5-3)(4-3)vs#8.Chris"Hack Saw"Remnant(6-4)(0-0)

Master Sifu started his Fallen Champions career at Light Heavyweight, but after going 3-2 decided to move down to middleweight which is more of his natural weight. He stumbled a little bit in his last outting breaking his 3 fight win streak with a Submission loss at FC XXV to Camber Cartwright. He is a clinch expert, and once he gets the fight there he overwhelms his opponents with elbows and knee strikes. The 23 year old Chris Remnant is making his promotional debut, and a win could shoot him up the rankings in a hurry. He has a strong Wrestling background combined with a high level Brown belt, and some nice ground n pound which has helped him earn 5 stoppages on the ground. Sifu should be able to get the clinch, but if he can't finish Remnant quickly, Chris will be able to drag the fight to the mat and finish it with a submission.

170lbs-#2.Glin"B-man"Burman(6-9)(1-0)vs#5.Brynjar Skjeggestad(8-2)(5-2)

This is going to be a highly competitive match up between top 5 Welterweights, and rumor is the winner could be looking at a Title shot. Glin Burman is coming in on a 3 fight win streak, and won his Fallen Champions debut with an impressive knockout victory over long time top 10 fighter Sam Malone. He has some remarkable Boxing, and likes to throw a large amount of combos. He also does a good job of setting up his punches with some creative kicks. Brynjar Skjeggestad fell short in his first attempt to earn the title, but a win could get him back into the picture. He is very well rounded, but doesn't try to hide his intentions and thats to get the fight to the ground and submit his opponent. All 8 of his victories have been by submission, but his 2 losses have been by knockout. So if Glin can make contact with his chin before being taken down, he has the power to end the fight.

135lbs-#1.Lance Stevens(7-4)(4-3)vs#6."Eating Panties"Bobby Roach(4-3)(1-2)

After falling short for the title at 145lb, Lance Stevens decided that a change of scenary was best and moved down to 135lbs. He lost in a number 1 contender match up to VJ Kiwi, but a win in this one will get him right back into the title hunt. He has some good hands, and also has a very solid ground game. Bobby Roach has had a rough go since joining the org, but a win in his last outting is getting him on the right track. He is a submission specialist with a Brown belt in BJJ that he has used for all of his wins. Historically this is a horrible match up for Stevens as he has had trouble with high level grapplers in the past, but Roach has had real problems with good strikers. If Stevens is going to win he needs to do it early on the feet, but if Roach can get the fight to the mat he should be able to earn his 5th Submission victory.

265lb Championship-(#7 P4P)C.Razor Maya(9-3)(2-0)vs(#10 P4P)#1.Charlie Clock(5-3)(5-3)

This is our Co Main event of the evening, and its for the Heavyweight Championship! Razor Maya is coming off of the KO of the Night performance where he ran through ex Champion Lee Jackson in a little under 2 minutes. This will be his first Title defense in what is sure to be a long title reign, and a win will move him toward the top of the P4P list. Razor has a Sensational striking Muay Thai base with some lethal kicks, and has knocked out 8 of his opponents. Charlie Clock has quickly became everybodies favorite underdog, and we will see if he has another upset in his bag of tricks. He has a high level Brown belt, and once he gets the fight to the ground he he actively looks for submissions until his opponent has no choice but to leave an opening. Clocks chin is a little to suspect to stand with Maya for very long, but if he can get the fight down then he will have a better chance. I think Razor will put in a bid for KO of the Night in the 1st Rd.

205lbs Championship-C.Shelby Toe(7-1)(6-1)vs#2."Hellraiser"Solofa Fatu(10-3)(5-2)

The Main event of the evening is for the Light Heavyweight Championship, and there has been alot of smack talk leading up to this one. 2-time Champion Shelby Toe is looking to do something that he hasn't been able to yet and thats defend the belt, as he fell short in his first title defence. He has some world class grappling, good double leg, good ground n pound, and some descent submissions! His last two fights have been decision victories so we'll see if he'll be able to break the trend in this one! Solofa Fatu is a long time top contender in the org, but his only 2 blemishes have been to Toe's sparring partner Charlie Clock which makes him want to win this fight worse than ever. Solofa has some really good boxing which he has kinda strayed from lately, but he always has a great ground game to boot. I would look for Fatu to try to keep this one standing and pick Toe apart, but I think that Toe will be able to land his famous double leg then it will turn into who ever is on their A game. Either way I have a feeling this is going to be one of the best title fights in org history and may even rival that absolute war for the Welterweight Title last weekend!

There you have it folks, that is a great card from top to bottom. Hopefully the fans in attendance at Hayashi's Lounge in Hilo will be in for a real treat! I want to thank our sponsors Pirates Powder nutrition, and The Dark Side clothing store.
