Event Preview: FC Lost Legends XVI
Fallen Champions
2013-08-10, Hilo, Hayashi's Lounge - Hilo
Author:Jonah King

Hello fight fans, Satuarday Night is finally here and Hayashi's Lounge is going to be popping with the Fallen Champions crew in the house! Lost Legends XVI features the Middleweight Championship on the line, as Tom Finch looks for a second successful Title defense when he puts the belt on the line against the very dangerous and game Genghis Khan! Also we the rematch of Conan vs Cirus, and Cirus has promised to come into this one more prepared than the last time they met! So lets get started....

185lbs-Rafael Silva(1-2)(1-1)vsHenry Sobberman(1-1)(0-0)-Silva by (t)KO in 1st Rd

265lbs+-Al Coholic(4-4)(2-2)vsGorilla Guerrilla(1-3)(0-3)-Guerrilla by UD

135lbs-Tyler Garretty(0-0)(0-0)vsPedro Guilherme(0-0)(0-0)-Guilherme by Sub in 1st Rd

185lbs-Bob Koff(2-1)(1-1)vsNickolas Diaz(4-4)(0-3)-Koff by Sub in 1st Rd

265lbs-#6.Orlando Sax(3-1)(2-1)vsSebastein Chabal(8-11)(1-1)-Sax by Sub in 1st Rd

265lbs-#7.Sergio Tyson(4-2)(4-2)vs#5."Steppin"Stefano Dufinbeger(5-3)(3-1)

With the newly depleted Heavyweight division these warriors could make the best of the opportunity with a win in this one. Sergio Tyson began his career with Fallen Champions and will surely end it here as well, he is very game to take on any opponent and has won most of those battles! He has collegiate level wrestling combined with some nice ground n pound, and also has a descent level Purple belt. Stefano Dufinbeger recently broke his own 5 fight win streak in his last outting and want to get back on the winning track in this one. He has a very well rounded skill set where he is descent at every aspect of MMA but not really great at any of them, and will try to use those skills to keep himself in this fight no matter where it ends up. I think that Tyson wrestling will be the difference maker in this one, and I have him earning a decision victory.

205lbs-#9.Markus Fittz(5-1)(4-0)vs#10.Diego Russell(4-2)(4-1)

Both of these two fighters are highly regarded up and coming prospect, and whoever wins this one will move themselves one step closer to a title shot in a very evenly match Light Heavyweight division. Markus Fittz has won his first four fights in the org by stoppages, and is showing no signs of slowing down heading into Satuarday night. He still has a very raw skill set but has showed some descent punching skills having landed 100% of his head strikes up to this point, and also a relentless grappling attack. Diego Russell is coming in riding a 3 fight win streak having not lost since all the way back at Fallen Champions VIII. He uses a Wrestling dominate game plan, and has very efficient ground n pound landing nearly 90% of his ground strikes. I think this one will end up on the ground with Russell working his ground n pound, but Fittz may be able to catch him in a submission of his back.

185lb-#3."The Lion of Matema"Baraka Simengwa(6-3)(0-0)vs#2."The Choker"Demetrius Colrane(11-5)(0-0)

These two newcomers are looking to make a successful debut with the org, and put the rest of the Middleweight division on notice. Baraka Simengwa had a rocky start to his career in the QFC league, but then joined SSFC and won all 4 of his fights by submission before decided to make the move to Fallen Champions. He has an elite level grappling game, with collegiate level wrestling and a top level Black belt that has earned him all 6 of his victories. Demetrius Colrane comes in with a little bit different back ground, he spent his last 12 fights at EMMA went he went a mediorce 8-4 but was the Middleweight Champion, and fought in 4 Title fights! He is also a high level grappler, and using his Wrestling to land 70% of his takedowns and once he gets the fight there he lands a high percentage of his ground strikes that has helped him win 10 of his fights by knockout. This one is going to end up on the mat forsure, but the question is going to be will Colrane be on top reigning down strikes or will Simengwa be able to work his high level BJJ?

155lbs-#2.Robert E Conan(7-3)(4-2)vs#3."The Law-nley Boy"Tom Cirus(12-5)(4-2)

In the Co Main Event of the evening we have the rematch of these top Lightweights, the first meeting went Conan's way when he stopped Cirus in a little under a minute. Robert E Conan has been larking around the top of the Lightweight Division since FC IV, but he has trouble when facing high level BJJ specialist which has made his career a little rocky. Word is he has been taking his training a lot more seriously, and we should see the best Conan on Satuarday night. He has a Olympic level Grecco Roman wrestling style, where he using alot of clinch work and ground n pound, and he has used that style to stop 7 of his opponents. Tom Cirus was the first FC Lightweight Champion, but after winning the title he hit a wall in the form of current Champ Darcy Lilo and has since than went 1-2. He has stated that if he is able to win this rematch he intends to make the move up to Welterweight, where he should be able to make an immediate impact. He has a  world class Wrestling background with an almost unstoppable double leg takedown, and alot of power in his ground strikes. This fight is sure to turn into a nice grappling match up, and I see the winner as the one that is able to gain top position as neither one has much of a bottom game.

185lb Championship-C.Tom Finch(5-2)(4-0)vs#1."Temujin"Genghis Khan(10-4)(0-0)

Our Main Event of the evening pits the Champion Tom Finch looking to defend his title for the second time, against promotional new comer and one of the highest regarded Free Agent pick ups in org history Genghis Khan. Tom Finch is coming in on a 5 fight win streak, and has seemingly ran through all of his 4 opponents so far in Fallen Champions. He has an absolute dominate top gain, and just smothers his opponents with ground n pound and is consistently working to improve his position. Genghis Khan is coming over from the Valhalla:Hilo Promotion where he went 2-2, but is looking to make a big splash stepping up as a last minute replacement for Finch's orginal opponent! Genghis has some great hands, and prefers to keep the fight standing but also has a descent ground game. If Genghis can't stop Finch right away, Finch will be able to land a takedown, than its going to come down to his ground n pound versus Khan's BJJ game. Khan has been able to end 2 of his fights with submissions, but trys not to fall back on his Brown belt too much. I think that this one could go where ever, and could even end up in the judges hands.

There you have it folks should be a Great night of action. I'm looking forward to seeing Finch get really challenged for the first time in his FC Career. I would like to thank our sponsors Pirates Powder nutrition and The Dark Side clothing for all their support!
