10: Maria Ozawa (-119) vs Kris Letang (+102)

Starting off Shoot Fight League's inaugural event will be a featherweight fight between "The Natural" (0-3-1) and "The Hammer" (0-1-0). Neither of these two hungry fighters have yet tasted victory in the cage and they will both be chomping at the bit to get that first W. Maria Ozawa seems to have all the advantages coming into this one, he's the more experienced fighter and is eight years the elder of Letang, most would also say he has the slightly better wrestling of the two which may help him dictate where the fight goes, as well as the better must thai expert giving him the advantage in the clinch also. Letang on the other hand has a clear boxing advantage and with his height, if he is able to keep the fight on the outside with his longer limbs he still has a good chance to win by decision or KO.

prediction: Ozawa by KO round 2

9: Redjo Majkin (-110) vs Hideyoshi Ozawa (-106)

The second bout of the evening has two heavyweights looking to secure their first mixed martial arts wins. Hideyoshi (0-1-0) comes in with nearly a fifteen pound weight advantage and a better stand up game than Redjo (0-1-0). Redjo will be looking to use his superior wrestling to take Ozawa down and control him to nullify his opponent's strikes.

Prediction: Majkin by decision round 3

8: Louis Martines (-119) vs Sean Oreilly (+102)

The third fight is a welterweight bout between the 25 year old Martines (0-0-0) against the 18 year old Oreilly (0-0-0). Both seem to be primarily stand up fighters so I find it hard to believe this is going to end in anything but a knock out. Martines the muay thai practitioner and Oreilly the boxer this should be an interesting fight as Martines has a small height advantage and it could be the difference in this fight.

Prediction: Martines by KO round 1

7: Kun Do (-112) vs Odin Tualasan (-104)

Next up we have two rookies Kun (0-0-0) against Odin (0-0-0) in a middleweight fight. Neither man has an advantage when it comes to jui jitsu so if it goes to the ground it could turn into a long, drawn out fight. Kun Do, having pretty much no wrestling skills will try to prevent this from happening but the younger Odin may look to take Kun Do down with his wrestling ability in a lay and pray attitude as he tries to prevent the superior striker from taking his head off but it could be difficult unless he has some ground offense.

Prediction: Do by KO round 1

6: Bruce Chen (-115) vs David Hughes (-102)

The fifth fight on the card is Bruce Chen (1-0-0) fighting David Hughes (0-1-0) in the second featherweight fight of the evening. David had a ten centimetre height advantage making him the stand up favourite coupled with his superior striking, but don't count out Bruce who proved his punching power in his first fight, winning by knock out in just five seconds. Bruce has the better wrestling which could cause Hughes some problems as his jui jitsu skills seem to put him at a disadvantage if this fight goes to the ground.

Prediction: Chen by TKO round 3

5: Jason Ross (-102) vs Billy Aziz (-115)

Billy (3-2-0) against Jason (0-0-0) is a light heavyweight clash between two, physically matched boxers. Billy has more experience and seems to be the much better boxer but has shown nothing in the wrestling department which could be a problem ad Jason has shown some excellent wrestling skills which used properly could spell out his victory, IF used properly.

Prediction: Aziz by KO round 1

4: Butch Coleman (-112) vs Oleg Sizov (-104)
The second heavyweight bout between Coleman (1-0-0) and Sizov (0-0-0) is a classic the ground fight against the stand up fighter. Coleman will be looking to stand and bang to test the chin of the rookie Sizov, while Sizov will be looking to take the fight to the ground and work his jui jitsu. So the big question is, can Oleg get this fight to the ground and how much is he willing to risk to get it there considering both men have similar wrestling skills.

Prediction: Coleman by KO round 1

3: Breno Estima (-117) vs Will Genia (+100)

Our third last fight of the night is a lightweight matchup between two jui jitsu fighters Estima (1-0-0) against Genia (0-0-0).
Both these men could be described as ground fighters but Genia has the clear advantage if it stays on the feet as he also is an excellent muay thai fighter. That being said, Estima has the better wrestling and the better jui jitsu fighter so we will have to see if he uses it to his advantage.

Prediction: Estima by submission round 3

2: Kenta Kobayashi (-108) vs Loopin Louie (-108)

The second welterweight bout and co-main event of the evening has Kenta (0-0-0) going against Loopin (0-0-0). This fight is another striking against grappling exhibition which pits the superior striker Louie, against the grappler Kobayashi. It seems like both fighter's game plans are no secret here as Louie will be looking to keep the fight standing and Kobayashi will be looking to get inside to take the fight to the ground to work some of his jui jitsu, but that may be easier said than done with the longer limbs of Louie.

Prediction: Kobayashi by submission round 2

1: Mystic Zen (-159) vs Owen Farrell (+135)

And finally, the main event of SFL 1 we have the undefeated Mystic Zen (5-0-0) against the rookie Owen Farrell (0-0-0) in a huge light heavyweight showdown. Mystic has shown an excellent top game in the past, and has won all his fights from that position so if Owen can avoid the bottom position and use his muay thai skills he may have a chance to end Mystic's roll and put himself on the match with a huge upset.

Prediction: Mystic by TKO round 2
