Q: Dear martial arts fans today I will pay a visit to a rising star in the featherweight division of Crucible Fights: London. Kira "Gaijin" Miyata was born in Japan, but his parents came from America. Therefore the Japanese always considered him a foreigner aka gaijin. After years of bullying by local yankees which are Japanese delinquents he started training in Judo. After winning a few street fights he decided he was ready to fight professionally. Miyata-san, I understand you have had a rough childhood. Is it okay if I ask you some questions about that?

Kira: The past is the past, I have accepted it as part of my past and I have no problems talking about that time.

Q: Good, now if I go too far please stop me. First of all Id like to know if you still go to Japan, because youre currently residing in Helsinki, correct?

Kira: Daijyoubu desu (no problem). I may live in Helsinki now to train but my home is and always will be Nihon (Japan). My family lives there, I visit them from time to time and I still keep in touch with them.

Q: Do you still feel resentment toward the people who bullied you, Ive heard they are called Yankees in Japan?

Kira: No I dont. It is important to give those sort of things a place in your heart and embrace it as part of your past, otherwise it will hunt you forever.

Q: There is wisdom in your words. Now, about your MMA career. Youre 3-3 in your last six fights and youve been alternating wins and losses in that time. Do you see another title shot in your near future?

Kira: It is not up to me to decide that, fate will choose when it is time for me to win that belt and when that opportunity comes I will be ready.

Q: Arigatou (thank you) for this interview.

Kira: Dou itashi mashite. (youre welcome)
