Lance Legstrong and his emotional road to TUM glory

Fighter profile of Lance Legstrong by Rory Daly

Lance Legstrong, TUM contender, was seen by many as a lost cause in the tournament as he was a late entrant put forward by his manager, Rory Daly. Everyone in the tournament saw Daly and his camp as a bit of a joke and kind of like a gate keeper type manager that was somewhere in between a noob and veteran. Well, Lance Legstrong is here to prove all the doubters wrong, he has already beaten 2 very worthy managers’ fighter’s; Michael Patrick McDonell managed, by Sean McDonnell and Ronny Bruvik, managed by Manuel tose. Bruvik has now changed his name to Arzlan Bathory, people believe this is because he was too embarrassed about his loss against Legstrong to keep his original name. Well, nothing to be ashamed of Bathory, Legstrong looks to be a very good prospect for the future. Daly had this to say about him:

“I gotta say I am very happy with Lance, I even thought he was destined to lose as he was a late entry and had missed out on weeks of valuable training time but he is still here and now in the quarter finals of TUM! He has shown that he picks up new skills fast in training, he is a clever young man and has a chin like none other so now I can say with some confidence that I believe he can win this thing.”

Legstrong, 2-0 with 2 submission victories to his name will face Justin Velemir who is managed by Daly’s fellow alliance mate Johnny Canuck. They are both ground fighters but Lance is a BJJ fighter and Velemir a wrestler, will be an interesting match-up and will put an end to the argument of which ground skill is the more powerful! Daly recently lost to Canuck in his own tourney (GoNY) in the first round and even though Daly’s man looked to have the better ground skills, he certainly didn’t show it in the fight and could not keep his opponent down, therefore a betting man would choose Velemir to win this fight, but Daly is a man of high hopes and expectations so I am sure he has learned from his last encounter with his alliance mate.

Lance has been quite the controversial participant in this tournament. He has been accused of taking steroids and various testosterone boosters throughout the tournament but has denied such claims even though people have stepped forward and have claimed to have seen him doing the dirty deed with their own eyes. Well, he is yet to be called up on it so unless proven guilty he is innocent! Hate him or love him Lance Legstrong is here to stay and cause havoc and upset in Montreal’s TUM tournament – one of the biggest tournaments of the year.

Lance isn’t all about fighting though, he has a sensitive and caring heart. At the beginning of the tournament Daly donated a prize called the ‘thank f**k for that award’. This award was to be given to the first fighter to knockout Legendary xx’s fighter, Rome Jones and it pleased Rory greatly to see this happen in the very first round of the tournament by none other than Pauline Hanson. Pauline was offered either $10K or a hot night in with Lance Legstrong. Hanson chose Legstrong. I will spare the details of what happened on that night but let’s just say Lance came out that hotel room with a big smile on his face and a heart full of love. Daly was concerned about this as he wanted Lance’s full concentration on the tournament and Pauline is a potential opponent in the semi-finals, if they both make it that far. Turns out his passion for Pauline was one of the best things that could have happened as he walked in on Pauline and opponent Ronny Bruvik fornicating in the hotel room in montreal right beside his. Lance was distraught and tried to attack Ronny but only managed a feeble sack slap before running away to his hotel room. Daly told the Tycoon times that he didn’t sleep at all that night before he was to face the favorite, Ronny Bruvik. Alas, Legstrong’s rage powered him through for the victory. Legstrong said this after the fight:

“Pauline breaks my heart, I break this fool’s arm. That is how I settle things… F**k you Pauline!”

Well, it’s a better love story than twilight… Anyway tune in in 2 weeks’ time to see how the lover-boy, Lance Legstrong does against Justin Velemir on his journey to be crowned the champion of TUM!
