Featherweight Championship
(Champ) Hanz Titties vs. (3.) Edward Flores
Hanz "Ass'n" Titties is going to defend his FW tittle for the first time after knocking the former champ Frank Benoit. Hanz is currently 4-0 in DFC, all those 4 wins coming by knock out. Hanz is just 21 years old and stil improving everyday. Many MMA guru has been saying that this is actually a bad match up for Titties, bcuz wrestling is probably his strongest weapon but Flores is exceptional wrestler so this might be tough night to the champion.
Edward Flores is just 3-0 in his MMA career but he has already gathered big fan group behind him. His last fight was in Destiny 27 where he shocked the world by knocking out the former champ Pablo Out in very first round. After that impressive win DFC president Wessel Error tweeted right away that Flores is getting the next shot for FW tittle. What make "Landside" even more interesting is that he is just 19 years old.
We got chance to talk with the challenger and here is what he said about the match.
Flores: " I'm going to look for the knock out but if it doesnt happen I have my full confidence that I will dominate the fight whereever it takes place.I'm young and still undefeated and Iplans to leave that night the same with the belt. I try to respect my opponent but his name makes it hard (titties) for me to respect him to I'm just going to knock him out cold."
Champion didnt want to say anything about the match.
Bantamweight Championship
(Champ) Kenshin Yamamoto vs. (4.) Mark Bariga
The champion "Kid" Yamamoto is one of the most experienced DFC veterans in roster and with 6-1 record in DFC, its easy to say that he has pretty much dominated the division. This 2 time BW champ is preparing for his 4th tittle defence, but this is his first defence after reclaiming the tittle from Piotr Bukowski. Kenshin will probably do everything in his power to get this fight to the ground and sub or g&p the finish, or he might just grind out the decision also.
Mark Bariga had tough debut in his DFC career but after that he has been unstoppable with 3 straight first round knock out and in the first minute of the first round. You really cant be more impressive than that. Bariga is amazing boxer and will probably want to keep this on a feet and knock the champ out as soon as possible. The age different in this match is significant, the champ is 28 years old and the challenger just 19 years old. Takedowns vs. takedown defence will probably be the biggest factor in this fight.
Bantamweight
(6.) Carls Classic vs. (2.) Piotr Bukowski
Former BW champion "Alpha" Piotr Bukowski has big night ahead of him. Piotr has nice 4-1 record in DFC, but the match vs. Classic is very important if he wants to get his belt back to Poland. "Alpha" is the only guy who has beaten the current champ Yamamoto when he got the unanimous decision in Destiny 19, but in rematch he got knocked out in 2nd round and lost his tittle. Piotr has the tools to beat the champ but he needs to get past Classic first.
Carls Classic is BJJ brown belt but has still 0 wins by submission. Classic is getting the toughest debut possible in DFC when he faces the former champ. In paper Classic has definately the edge in BJJ and thats probably what he is trying to use against Bukowski. Classic is 5cm taller than the champ but I dont believe that will have any effect in fight. Classic is big underdog in this fight.
Lightweight
(5.) Jim Mishima vs. (4.) Kenji Woko
The main card starts between 2 japanese lightweights Mishima and Woko. Mishima stepping 7th time in DFC cage with 4-2 rec. He got Jimmy McKenzie in 1st round armbar at his latest match and he is looking to get one step closer to the belt.
Woko is 8-fight DFC veteran and one of the few active fighter who fought at Destiny 1. Woko has gotten 2 tittle shots so far but had to tapout in both of them. After beautiful KO in his last bout he is hunting for 3rd shot for the tittle.
Mishima and Woko has fought before at Destiny 13, where Woko caught him with big uppercut and finished the fight with G&P. Mishima is probably very hungry to get that loss back and stop Woko instead. This will be big match for both of them and with their current ranks 4. and 5. the winner will be pretty close to tittle shot.
