Author:Tony Rossi

I would like to welcome all of you to the last event before the title tournaments start here in Barbarian Fight Club. As always are merchandise partner is MANGO nutrition so please get any of your nutritional supplement needs from them. They will have stands at The Underground for fighters or fans to stop by and take a look at all of their products.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Yank "The Brander" Lewis (1-1) {1-0} versus Roan Carneiro (5-3) {0-2}

Lewis got his first win by decision and he used a lot of ground and pound in that fight. That cannot be his strategy going into this fight. Lewis is going to need to keep this fight standing at all costs, and look to string together some nice punch combos. In his last fight he looked for a lot of submissions and I am telling you he will not submit the brown belt. Roan Carneiro had a great looking record until joining Barbarian Fight Club. He was five and one, but since signing here he has been on a two fight losing streak. Roan will try and turn that around and if this fight goes to the ground he will turn it around. I am going to pick Carneiro to win by submission in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Ronaldo "Abacaxi" Oliveira (3-4) {2-1} versus Nonito Melo (0-0) {0-0}

Ronaldo is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and he loves the ground game. He has not been overly successful submitting his opponents as only one of his three wins has come by submission. We know he has a good gas tank as well seeing three of his seven fights have gone the distance. Oliveira can point out fights on the ground, so he should be looking to get this fight there. Melo is an unknown. He will be making his debut in this fight, and the scouting report says he is well rounded. He seems to have a good striking game and he will want to utilize that in this one. If he can avoid the takedown he should have this fight in the bag. This is a tough call but I am going to pick Melo to win this fight by TKO in the third round.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Michael Adderiy (2-0) {1-0} versus Knus "Svina" Krust (1-0) {0-0}

Adderiy is a grappler through and through and he will be looking to showcase his talents. His stand up game is incredibly lacking so he will want the takedown quickly. Once on the ground though he is a beast, and both of his fights have ended in less than two minutes by way of submission. Krust is a standup fighter who can work from the clinch or at range. In his only fight it seemed that he was much more comfortable in the clinch as he dominated from there. Obviously he will want to avoid the ground as much as possible and that may be possible as his takedown defence percentage is over seventy percent. I think Adderiy will pull this one out though, just not as quickly as his last few, as I got him winning by submission in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Jerome "Machine" Lebanner (1-2) {1-2} versus "Anarky" Lonnie Machin (1-0) {1-0}

Lebanner is older and more experienced which should give him a big advantage. The Muay Thai striker and wrestler and he is looking to turn around his two fight losing streak and he might want to clinch to get that done. In Lebanner’s first fight he did very well from the clinch and got a win, since then he has two loses and no clinch was worked into the fight. Lonnie Machin is a boxer and who can also work from the clinch and from the range. Machin is a very inaccurate fighter and he will need to improve on that if he expects to get another win. I am going to pick Lebanner to get the win by decision in this one.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Featherweight Fight (135lbs)

Carlos "Ocelote" Rodriguez (3-0) {2-0} versus "Pei_Pei" Matheus Peixoto (2-1) {1-0}

Classic grappler versus striker in this matchup and Rodriguez will be playing the part of the striker in this one. He has won all three of his fights and all three of them have been by TKO. In both of Carlos’s fights in BFC he has taken home an Of the Night Award and he will be looking to add to the collection. Peixoto is the grappler currently holding a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He will be out classed standing up so phase one, get a takedown. Phase two work some submissions. Phase three profit. Since the wrestling of Rodriguez is better I don’t think Pei_Pei will be able to get this fight to the ground, so I am picking Carlos Ocelote Rodriguez to win by knockout in the first round.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Featherweight Fight (135lbs)

Sergei "Зве" Shunkov (1-2) {1-1} versus "Commander" Jake Malcomes (2-0) {1-0}

Shunkov is the older fighter in this match up and he will need to show off his experience. He has the better wrestling and both of these guys have about the same skill in the Jiu Jitsu department, so he will need to point grapple. Malcomes has the big time advantage in the striking department so as long as he can keep it standing it will be his fight to lose. He got his first win by submission and his second came by decision but I don’t think he can win this fight with that kind of finish in this one. He will need a knockout to maintain his undefeated streak. I think Shunkov will win this fight by decision but it could be close enough to be a split or even a draw.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Adrien "leão" Silva (1-0) {0-0} versus Jay "Clock Work" Tuwima (1-3) {0-0}

Both of these guys will be making their BFC debuts in this fight. Silva is undefeated so far, but Tuwima is more experienced. Silva is grappler having a back round in wrestling and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Tuwima is a striker having been trained in boxing and the art of Muay Thai. These two guys should have strait forward game plans for this one, as Silva wants to go to the ground and Tuwima does not. Silva is shorter and naturally heavier so that will give him a slight advantage with wanting to take the fight down. Tuwima has yet to knock any one out so you have to question his knockout ability and that is why I am picking Silva to win by submission late in round one.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Heavyweight Fight (265lbs)

Goran "Silberrücken" Padamalei (3-1) {2-1} versus Bryan "The Organo Natural" Chua (2-0) {2-0}

Padamalei got off to a hot start winning his first three fights, but he tasted defeat in his last fight. He will want to rebound quickly and get back on track, and if he does there could be a title shot in the near future for him. Chua is currently undefeated and is also looking to climb the ranks to get that title shot in the near future. This could be a make it or break it kind of fight for both of these guys. Padamalei is older, has had more fights, and he has fought tougher competition in my opinion so big advantages there. Both of these guys are wrestlers who look to ground and pound, and I feel Chua is the better wrestler so that is his big advantage. Whoever gets the dominate position first should be the winner of this fight, and I am going to pick the underdog and go with Chua winning by knockout in the first round.

Co Main Event, Main Card Bout Number 4- Heavyweight Fight (265lb)

Diego Nunes (3-1) {0-1} versus Imperiex Prime (5-3) {0-0}

Nunes was left out of the Heavyweight title tournament since he only had one fight in BFC. He is currently ranked number four in the Heavyweight division so he needs get a win in this one and his next fight to be the number one contender once the title is decided. An early takedown and some ground and pound should get him the win in this one. Prime is making his debut here in BFC and he can make a big impact. If he can keep this fight standing he will move up the ranks quickly. Prime is a striker and will need to contest the takedown attempts from Nunes. I think Diego will get the takedown all though and that will lead him to his first win in BFC. I have him winning by knockout in the second round.

Main Event, Main Card Bout Number 5- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Sponge Bones (2-0) {1-0} versus Rafael Silva (3-1) {1-0}

Bones is two and zero with both wins coming by way of submission. He is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a wrestler with little to no striking abilities. Obviously he will want this fight on the ground, which is his comfort zone. Silva is almost the exact same thing, but he has not earned his brown belt just yet. Silva is very aggressive while Bones will wait until the opportunity presents its self. So even though these two seem like the same fighter, they are different. Once the fight goes to the ground which it will early, look for Silva to start throwing every submission in the book at Bones. Bones will be patient and defend while he looks for a good opening. If the fight ends early it is because Silva won, but if Bones survives past the three minute mark, I think Silva will be too tired to defend properly. I am going to pick Bones to win by submission in the second round, but do not be shocked if Silva ends up getting the win.
