Lightweight Championship

(Champ) Afa Sila vs. (3.) Will Genia

The long time LW champ Afa "Arm Collector" Sila is defending the belt first time after he regained it from Jin Mishima. Sila suffered upset loss against Jin Mishima at Destiny 34, but in immediate rematch he took the unanimous decision. 21- year old samoan is now back stronger than ever and he is looking to start another long time tittle run. Sila has been delivering devastating armbars over and over again, but this time the BJJ brown belt is facing another BJJ brown belt and after Sila got submitted by Mishima people started to question his submission defence. It will be interesting to see what kind of game plan the champion will choose to this fight.

The champ sounded positive and fired up when he was asked about his fresh tittle run:

"Two time champion! My last loss was case of hubris and pride, now I have focused on my strenghts and will target all of your weakness. The main question is whether you survive my onslaught. For Samoa!"

The undefeated 21-year old australian Will Genia earned himself a tittle shot after going 3-0 in DFC. All those 3 wins came against former number 1 contenders, after winning Woko by decision he finished Jabber and Shinoki via TKO and after that it was pretty obvious that he would fight for the tittle next. Genia is underdog going to this fight, but with his wonderful muay thai and brown belt BJJ skills he has all tools to become a champion. It's really hard to tell how this fight gonna play out, because both of them are strong in ground and on feet. The gameplans will probably take a big role in this bout.

Featherweight

(2.) Frank Benoit vs. (5.) Mauricio Jet

The former 2-time DFC champion Frank Benoit has lost 3 of his last 4 bouts and he is in very big need of a win. His is coming from a TKO loss against Francisco Torzoni who is now fighting for the belt. "The Tank" still has plenty of hype behind him, but he is slight underdog going in to this fight. Frank is known to be wonderful wrestler, but he is facing black belt BJJ artist so he really needs to think twice if he wants to take this fight to the ground. Benoit is now 28 years old so he is probably in his prime as a fighter, but he really needs to find his confidence back and pile up few wins, if he wants to stay top of the division.

Mauricio "Gaijin" Jet was victim of DFC jitters in his first bout DFC bout against fellow BJJ black belt David Perez, who submited Jet in 2nd round via RNC. He is looking to rebound from the dissapointment, but fighting former 2-time champion won't be the easiest way to come back. As a BJJ black belt Jet probably wants to get this fight to the ground  as soon as possible and either choke Frank out or tear his limbs apart. Mauricio is just 21-years old so he has all the time in the world to improve his full MMA arsenal. Winning Benoit would be huge boost for his career and would really shoot him right up in the mix.
