We had another great event and we are back into the top thirty! Being ranked this high is a prestigious thing and we are starting to attract even more top manager meaning more top end fighters and an overall better amount of great fights. Dan will continue to do things that are best for business and know there will be an affiliate organization opening very soon. Also Dan has been a member of RISSA since the beginning and I know he will be doing some cross promotional stuff with them soon. Everyone at RISSA and everyone in Honor is doing everything possible to bring the best talent here to Las Vegas and we want to be in the top twenty shortly. This will happen if we continue to put on great events such as this past one on Saturday. Let’s take a look at what went down at Honor FC 12 and then continue to build on the great success that we had so far this month.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Javier Lopez defeats Ayrton "BigFoot" Silva

In typical fashion I got to start the night of predictions off incorrectly. Silva was stuffed on all three of his takedown attempts and Lopez made Silva pay for even thinking about taking the fight to the ground. Lopez unloaded on Silva and he had busted him open and put him on shaky legs within the first minute of the fight. Nearing the end of the second minute of the fight Lopez landed a big shot that knocked Silva down and Lopez went to the ground to go for the kill. This is where I was hoping that Silva would pull off some crazy submission from the bottom but the strikes just came way to fast eventually Silva tapped out. Lopez was declared the winner by way of tap out do to strikes at 1:55 of the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Quagmire "Ohh" Yeah defeats Dallas "Haneous" Riley

This was just one great fight. The first round opened with Yeah scoring the takedown a looking for a quick ending with several submission attempts. Riley was able to prevent the submissions and then he even worked his way to a standing position. From there Riley took control dominating Yeah in the clinch, and then he even took Yeah down as well. The remainder of the round was spent on the ground with the two trading submission attempts. Riley wins the round and is up 10-9. Riley decided to take the fight to the ground once again in round number two, and then Yeah took over. Riley couldn’t get back to his feet or get the better positioning and Yeah went for the kill with submission after submission attempt. Riley was able to defended them all but this was all Yeah in the round and he took it home. Heading into the third and final round it is tied up with one round a piece 19-19. Riley then opened round three with a clinch but Yeah was able to defend most of the strikes, from inside the clinch Yeah landed a trip takedown into side control and he started working an arm triangle. As soon as Riley committed to the triangle defense Yeah switched to an armbar and forced him to tap out. Yeah wins the fight by submission in the third round at 1:55 via armbar.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

bj "Boogieman" Ferguson defeats Floyd "Power" Howard

Well this fight didn’t go the way I seen it at all. I figured there would be a ton of ground grappling and many of submission attempts. I couldn’t have been more wrong as this fight only lasted fifty seconds. Ferguson took the fight to the ground right after the opening bell, and then he was able to transfer into mount. Once he was able to posture up he started landing some devastating ground and pound. The referee had to step in and stop the fight at 0:50 of the very first round declaring the winner by TKO via ground and pound bj Ferguson.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Steve "Cobra" Cox defeats Sun "Kakarot" Wukong

This fight got a great rating but I felt it was overall a boring fight. Now don’t get me wrong there was a lot of close finishes but it did make it all the way to the final bell. It was action packed but what made it boring to me is just that Cox seemed to outclass Wukong. The only round that was even close was the first round as Sun Wukong was able to try some submissions and he forced a standup but Cox tried more submissions and scored two takedowns which won him the round. The second round was total domination for Cox as he only got one takedown but that was all that he needed. Cox was able to land some ground and pound and he attempted a few submissions while Wukong was on the high defensive side of things. The third and final round was very similar to how things went in the second. Wukong was a little more active but not enough. Cox landed three takedowns because Wekong was able to force two ref stand ups but that was about it for Sun. Cox landed a few more strikes and tried some more submissions but nothing that was threatening. After fifth teen minutes Steve Cox is declared the winner by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the fight 30-27.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Rickson Bravo defeats Vedran Milosevic

This was a tough fight for me to pick but I went with Milosevic unfortunately. I knew it would be a long fight and I had it going to the final bell, well it went to the third round but was it a decision? The first round was all Bravo as he scored the takedown and worked some ground and pound. He also tried four submissions that where not effective but he still dominated the round and won it 10-9. The second round Milosevic looked much better as he was able to stand up from the ground twice. Now even though he did get the fight to standing twice the round still ended with Bravo on top as he was able to score three takedowns. Once again Bravo was active on the ground as he attempted several submissions. Once again Bravo could not put Milosevic away but easily won the round. Round three started off very similar to the other rounds with Bravo scoring the early takedown. Bravo went for a few submissions before he was able to secure the armbar and Milosevic tapped out. Rickson Bravo wins the fight by submission at 2:59 of the third round and he took home the bonus for submission of the night.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

"Muharebe Tankı" Murat Orgun defeats Jonathan "The Cheetah" Mvungi

This was another fight that tough to pick. Mvungi has the power to knock out just about anyone out and Orgun is a great wrestler. I figured Mvungi had the power to get the knockout before the fight went to the ground, but after several body shots Orgun did get the fight down to the mat. Once the two were on the ground it was all Orgun and he was landing some serious ground and pound. The referee came in to call a stop to the fight at 2:58 of the first round. Orgun wins by TKO via ground and pound and he took home the knockout of the night honors.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Jeffrey Sarpong defeats Erick Rootmans

I knew this fight was going the distance and I was certainly correct about that. I was a little disappointed though as you except more action over the course of fifteen minutes. The first round in my opinion was won by Sarpong even though Rootmans took the advantage early. Rootmans locked up a clinch and then scored a takedown but once on the ground it was all Sarpong as he attempted several submissions. Round number two was very similar to the first round with Rootsman taking the advantage early in the standup. Sarpong did score a takedown and he went back to work trying submissions over and over. Rootmans did get back to his feet but Sarpong took him down again, and won the round. We had a little rinse and repeat in the third round as Rootmans opened up the round by getting the advantage in the stand up. Once again Sarpong took the fight to the ground and he out grappled Rootmans while trying several submissions. I scored the round for Sarpong once again, and I scored the fight the same way as two of the judges 30-27 in favor of Sarpong. The odd judge out scored the fight 30-28 for the winner by unanimous decision Jeffery Sarpong.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Bantamweight Title Fight (135lbs)

Ethan "Captain Insaneo" Harris defeats Isaiah "Vanilla Gorilla" Ferguson

For the first time ever we had co fight of the night winners and this was one of them. Personally I am happy we got to see co fight of the nights because I wouldn’t have award these two with it. The reason I wouldn’t have is simple, this was pure domination by one fighter. Harris stuffed six takedowns of Ferusons and other than that the only thing Ferguson did was take elbows off the head. Harris landed over fifty elbows and that’s all he needed to do to get the win. Harris was declared the winner at 0:46 of the second round by TKO do to elbows. Harris is proving to be the real deal with his sixth consecutive win in Honor five of which have been title fights.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Tyrion "The Imp" Lannister defeats "Nobushi" Mitsuyo Maeda

This is what was considered to be the other fight of the night and I can tell you it was a barn burner. This was such a great fight with a lot of back and forth action. Maeda landed more strikes and was able to improve his position more than Lannister. Lannister did score more takedowns and his strikes seemed to be a little more effective which is why he was able to edge this fight out on the score cards. Lannister dominated round one by scoring the only takedown of the round and then pressuring with submission attempts. Both fighters took a licking but Lannister was the clear winner 10-9. To open the second round Maeda scored the takedown and he was able to ride out the entire round controlling and striking. Maeda was able to clearly win the round and it was now 19-19 going into the last round. The third and final round was dominated by Lannister who took the fight to the ground right away. Maeda was able to get back to his feet but Lannister took the fight down again and then he started working submissions. The final bell sounded and Lannister was declared the winner by unanimous decision with the fight being scored by all of the judges 29-28.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Thomas Boothe defeats Khru "Big Buddah" Maokhamphiou

This fight didn’t last nearly as long as I thought it would. The reason being that it didn’t last as long was because both fighters seemed as though they wanted to counter. Boothe landed more shots and they were a whole lot stronger and much more effective than Khru. Khru only attempted three strikes and he only landed one as Boothe landed more head punches than Khru tried, and he landed more head kicks than Khru landed total strikes. This was just a good old fashioned beating as Boothe won the fight at 2:59 of the first round by TKO do to strikes.

Like I said before this was a great card, and we even got to see co fight of the night winners. I hope we get to see amazing events like this every week, or I should say twice a week here in Honor Fighting Championship. I will see you all in a day or two for the preview for the next Wednesday Warfare.
