Barbarian FC 22

Damian Silva (5-4) vs Huey Manley (0-1)

Silva is a submission fighter who holds a purple belt in BJJ and has average wrestling, 3 of his 5 wins come by submission. Manley is an excellent wrestler who holds a blue belt in BJJ. In Manley's MMA debut he was submitted by a purple belt in 18 seconds and I expect to see the same here, unless he can quickly get out of his opponents guard.

Silva round 1 submission.

Alex Savio Sanchez (3-1) vs Cheech Marin (4-4)

A battle of the purple belts in this fight. Sanchez is a good wrestler who also holds a purple belt in BJJ, all three of Sanchez's wins come by submission and he recently submitted a brown belt. Marin has average wrestling who also has a purple belt in BJJ, 3 of his 4 wins come by submission, the other win comes by decision. Sanchez holds the wrestling advantage and that's all I need to know to pick Sanchez over Marin. Other than that expect a close submission fight.

Sanchez round 2 submission.

Stevenus Liverbird (2-2) vs Odell Paquette (0-1)

Liverbird is a very tall submission fighter who has average wrestling and a brown belt in BJJ. Both of his wins come by submission and both of his losses come by KO. Paquette is an excellent boxer but has no other really stand out attributes to go with his boxing, this was proven on his MMA debut he was taken down and submitted within a minute. Pacquette's only hope is to stand and bang but Liverbird isn't that type of fighter, Liverbird will get the takedown and the tap out.

Liverbird round 1 submission

Abel Cruz (0-0) vs Ambrose Chrisholm (0-1)

This is a bout between two one dimensional fighters. Abel Cruz is a young brown belt in BJJ but has no other stand out attributes, he will be making his MMA and BFC debut on this fight against Chrisholm while I believe will give him the advantage. Chrisholm is an excellent muay thai fighter but again, he that is his only attribute worth mentioning. Chrisholm has only had one fight and he lost it by submission to a blue belt. I believe that Cruz will win this fight by submission in the first round, unless Chrisholm has put some serious work into his takedown defence.

Cruz first round submission.

Nathaniel Armstrong (0-1) vs Caique Mafra (2-2)

A battle of young brown belts here as both of these fighters own a brown belt in BJJ. Armstrong has a slight wrestling advantage but Mafra has an experience advantage. Both of these guys have been submitted before so I think this will be an interesting fight, I'm gonna go with the emperor penguin on this one.

Mafra decision

Steven Staunton (0-1) vs Rodrigo Dos Santos (1-3)

Staunton is an excellent wrestler with a blue belt in BJJ, he has only had one MMA fight and he lost it by submisision in under a minute. Dos Santos is a ground fighter who has had a disappointing start to his BFC career picking up three losses in a row. Dos Santos has a brown belt in BJJ and also has good wrestling, looking through Dos Santos' history it is hard to tell if he looks for the submission or ground and pound, from what I can see he looks for both. I think Staunton will get on top and grind Dos Santos to a win.

Staunton decision.

Sponge Bones (3-5) vs Uno Torres (2-1)

Sponge Bones has good wrestling and a brown belt to go with his horrible morale, all three of his wins come by submission.  Uno Torres has average wrestling and also has a brown belt in BJJ, Torres' morale isn't as disgusting as Bones however. Both of Torres' wins have come by submission. I think Torres will win this fight by the fact Bones' morale is so bad.

Torres first round submission.

Brahma Cervejinha (5-3) vs Damian Kazimierczak (2-1)

This is a fight between two people with impossible names so I will just use their first names to write this preview. Brahma has good muay thai and good wrestling and looked very impressive in his last fight standing up and in the clinch. 4 of Brahma's five wins have come by decision but that doesn't mean to say he is not dangerous because he most certainly is. Damian is a good wrestler with a brown belt in BJJ, he has a win by submission but he also has a win by knockout over Liverbird which doesn't match his attributes. This is a tough fight for me to call, one part of me says a Brahma decision and the other says a Damian submission. This time I'm gonna pick Damian but Brahma can prove me wrong easily!

Damian first round submission.

Bryan Chua (6-2) vs Matt Serra (6-2)

A great ground battle for this fight, Chua is an excellent wrestler who holds a purple belt in BJJ. All 6 of Chua's wins come by TKO so he is a guy you really do not want on top of you in a fight. Matt Serra is a good wrestler who holds a brown belt in BJJ, all 6 of Serra's wins come by submission so don't sleep on this guy on the ground otherwise you get tapped out brother. A lot of Serra's wins come from submission from the bottom which is where he will be in this fight, it's really 50/50 chance is Chua starts landing ground and pound or if Serra can start working for submissions, or even a sweep and really take Chua out of his gameplan.

Serra round 1 submission

Christopher Newton (6-1-1) vs Adrien Silva (6-2)

This fight has been dubbed a super fight and I find it hard to disagree being around BFC for a long time, both these guys like to talk and them moving divisions to fight was really a surprise for me personally, I never thought it'd be something I'd see but I am so happy it's happened and I can't wait to see the result. Newton is a BFC legend, he is 27 but if you look at his attributes you would think he is a 20 year old who has been well trained. Newton has average boxing, good wrestling, good muay thai and a purple belt in BJJ and he has put all of these skills together to pick up wins by KO, decision but mostly by submission, picking up 4 by submission. Newton won the 170lb BFC tournament by being intelligent and exploiting weaknesses. Newton's only loss came by submission by Aurelio who is now the 170lb BFC champion, so nothing to be ashamed about there. Adrien Silva is a smack talking, ground fighting beast! Out of his 6 wins 4 are by submission and the other 2 are by TKO. Silva has good wrestling and a brown belt in BJJ he uses to get these results. This fight truly is a forum super fight and I can't wait to see what happens. In my opinion I think Newton will walk away with a T/KO win as Silva has been tagged before, but if Silva gets on top then Newton is in real trouble. Make sure you check out the event to see who wins!

Newton round 2 TKO
