Q: Dear martial arts fans today I will pay a visit to a rising star in the featherweight division of London's Umbrella Corporation. Kira "Gaijin" Miyata was born in Japan, but his parents came from America. Therefore the Japanese always considered him a foreigner aka gaijin. After years of bullying by local yankees which are Japanese delinquents he started training in Judo. After winning a few street fights he decided he was ready to fight professionally.
Kira, last time we spoke you were on a three fight winning streak. How've you been doing since then?
Kira: After that I faced Yuya Shimizu, who's one of the best featherweights in the Umbrella Corporation right now and I got dominated in the stand-up. But eventhough I lost I also gained some experience from that fight.
Q: What did you learn from that fight?
Kira: Never pick a fight with Yuya Shimizu! (laughs)
Q: That's one lesson I don't need to learn the hard way! (laughs)
Kira: Just kidding, you know I feel like I've improved a lot facing all the tough opponents I've faced. Not just physically but also mentally and I feel like that will help me in the future when I'm facing even stronger opponents.
Q: There is wisdom in your words, Miyata-san arigatou (thank you) for this interview.
Kira: Dou itashi mashite. (you’re welcome)
