Interview with Boonchu Por Pramuk

Fighter profile of Boonchu Por Pramuk by

What’s up fight fans, Morgan Lightning here, Owner of New York Fight Nights and i have with me one of my guys Boonchu Por Pramuk for an interview. He is managed by Bjorn O’ Donnel and despite being only 18 years of age shows real promise as an MMA fighter. Lets continue with the interview...

Morgan: Hi Boonchu, Originating from Thailand you obviously understand all the subtle nuances of Muay Thai fighting, how long have you been training in Muay Thai?

Boonchu: Well I actually only started training Muay Thai a few months ago. My big brother Buakaw is a Muay thai legend and he didn't want me to try it because of the high injury rate. But I convinced him to let me spar once and I was able to sneak in an elbow in the clinch and opened up a cut. Once I saw the blood gushing out, I knew this was my future. There's no bigger joy than beating up other fighters.

Morgan: You surprised many people by calling out your next opponent BB “jones” Hammer Toe. Given your impressive clinch game and Granite chin, what made you call out the impressive submission specialist Hammer Toe? He even managed to steal a win in his last bout, sinking in a triangle choke with 4 seconds remaining in the fight, do you intend on testing your ground game or finishing this fight before it ever gets into a grapple?

Boonchu: As he was ranked above me, it was a good fighter to call out. I'm hoping to test myself in all ways. I am hoping to put on a great show for the fans and make it a 'beautiful destruction'. As Hammer Toe also has a complete standup game, I'm hoping to test him. No, i'll say more, I challenge him to try and KO me. I think he has pillow fists and no fighter should be that weak. I hearby confirm that he gets my fight pay if he is able to KO me. I'm that confident! If the fight goes to the ground, i'll have some surpises for him. It's not the bjj belt that says everything. But let me make one thing clear, I respect my opponent and know it will be a tough fight for both.

Morgan: What’s your relationship like with your current manager Bjorn O’Donnel? Was your meeting by chance or did you actively seek out his guidance to help further your career?

Boonchu: He is a great manager. He has helped me in my progress of becoming a fighter. He is like a father to me. No way I'll ever search for a new manager. It's because of him that I have such a good chin. He has a special training technique for that. I'll thank him for all his efforts by making the most of my future career.

Morgan: Your skill set of Muay Thai with a Wrestling base is becoming more and more of a regular thing for new guys ascending through the ranks of MMA. Is there anything about you which separates you from the crowd?

Boonchu: Hell yes! I'm young and eager. I've only been training for a few months. If everything goes well, imagine what a monster I can become. Everyone tells me I have tons of potential. I know I need a lot more training, but i'll do anything I can to become the best.

Morgan: Finally, do you wish to send any kind of message to your fans or any of your potential opponents at NYFN?

Boonchu: I want to thank my fans and hope to get a growing group of fans. it's the crowd that makes me get warm for a fight. I love fighting in front of people who are loud and enthusiast! I have only one message for the rest of the fighters in my weight class: train hard!!! you might need it. I do respect all of them, because they are all putting in a lot of effort. I know I sound a bit like Jon Jones, but believe me, I'm not like him. I'm an honoust, hard working fighter. I want to be the people's champ.

Morgan: Thanks for taking some time out of your training to answer my questions Boonchu and all the best for your upcoming fight.

You can see Boonchu Por Pramuk take on “BB” Hammer toe at NYFN:8 De Souza V Danger Live from the Hard Knock Arena New York, 29th of August 2014. A rising star for sure who has a clear vision of where his career will lead under his new manager. For those who appreciate the Muay Thai style his is defiantly one to watch and for those who are unfamiliar with it be sure to check him out. His Muay Thai execution is of the highest quality and he is certainly a potential mega star. For now though I’m Morgan Lightning and I bid you a very good night, until next time fight fans.
