Welterweight Championship
(Champ) Noob Saibot vs. (2.) Vinny Hopkins
DFC Welterweight champion Noob Saibot is defending his belt for the 3rd time this saturday. Saibot is coming from brutal head kick KO victory in rematch against former DFC welterweight champion Dav Rolling. Saibot has been really dominant in DFC so far and in this fight against Hopkins, Saibot is the favourite. Both of these two are very well-rounded and doesn't really any major weaknesses. Regardless of both being so well rounded both of these two have won most of their fights via KO/TKO. When you look deeper in to their careers you can see that both of them has a loss via submission but no submission victories even tho they are both BJJ brown belts.
Vinny "The Crow" Hopkins made his DFC debut at Destiny Tuesday 3 against former DFC champ Dean Thomas and came out with his hand raised after landing big right hand. This will be the first time Hopkins fights for title in DFC, but not the first time in title fight. Hopkins was welterweight champion of Hopkins Athletics Fight Club and defended the belt twice in there.
We got chance to interview Hopkins in pre-fight media day and he was really confident:
"First off i think that this title shot is a great oppurtunity for me and for the fight i feel more ready than ive ever been. my striking is elite, my wrestling is elite, and my bjj is at its peak to the point that i think its better than my striking. i vow to finish this fight in any means necessary so the champ better be ready because im putting everyhing on the line. so there you have it i will be champ again and be best in the world"
Heavyweight
(1.) Marcus Dantes vs. (6.) Imperiex Prime
Marcus "Roadblock" Dantes is making his long awaited debut in DFC this saturday. Dantes was one of the most hyped fighter to sign with DFC, so MMA fans really expects him to be next challenger for DFC Heavyweight champion Vincent Mars. Dantes is elite boxer and elite wrestler who has 12 wins by KO/TKO. Dantes is also former 2 time SFL heavyweight champion. It's easy to say that Dantes is huge huge favourite in this fight against Prime.
Imperiex Prime made his DFC debut at Destiny 62 against Mophaf Bungradidoa and took impressive TKO victory in very first round of the fight. Imperiex is now facing easily the toughest challenge of his career when he tries to pull upset of the year against Dantes. 21-year old Prime won all his 11 wins via KO/TKO so he probably tries to swing the head of Dantes early in fight and rely on punchers chance. A win here for Prime would put him right in the number #1 contender spot and boost his hype up to the skies. Prime doesnt really have nothing to lose and those type of fighters are always very dangerous.
