Heavyweight Championship
(Champ) Vincent Mars vs. (1.) Marcus Dantes
The biggest event in history of Destiny FC will take place this saturday at Shinjuku Indoor Arena, Tokyo. The main event is fight between Mars and Dantes, the two most hyped fighters in Destiny FC roster. Vincent Mars is 2-time DFC heavyweight champion with 5 title defences and one of the most famous stars in DFC, so all the DFC fans are familiar with him, but his opponent Marcus Dantes has just one DFC fight. Regardless of that Dantes has huge hype train behind him and in international MMA world Dantes is more hyped than Mars.
Vincent Mars is coming from the title fight against Jack Hollow where he reclaimed the title he lost to Hollow at Destiny 60. Mars got caught early on guillotine in that fight but in immediate rematch at Destiny 65, Mars knocked him out in 86 seconds. The trilogy with Hollow is now the past and even greater challenge is in front of him.
We were able to get few words from Mars in prefight press:
"Dantes has been a top heavyweight for a long time and i'm very exccited for this challenge... despite what some may think, i know that i have all that's needed to beat him wherever the fight takes place : he may be more experienced than me, but he's also very predictable and never changes his gameplan. I'm gonna beak him with my varied attacks."
2-time SFL champion Marcus Dantes is looking to conquer another mountain as he fights for the DFC title for the first time. Dantes faced Imperiex Prime in his DFC debut and it took him under 2 minutes to finish Prime via TKO. Dantes would have gotten a title shot right away, but Mars vs. Hollow trilogy ending fight was already set. 24 year old Dantes is elite boxer and wrestler, but has also BJJ brown belt and exceptional muay thai so he really has all the tools you can hope for a elite MMA fighter. Dantes has gotten most of his wins via TKO and also few decision wins, but even tho he is BJJ brown belt he doesnt have any submission victories on his record.
Dantes seems to be really confident prior the fight:
"Finally Destiny FC is serious to level up its Heavyweight Division. Their present champion is the Can Destroyer aka Vincent Mars who fight the same group of losers. Might as well takeover and show the fans what a real talent looks like."
Middleweight
(5.) Dee Nice vs. (6.) Dominic Tsunami
In co-main event middleweights Dee Nice is coming from 3rd round TKO win against Shikou Endou and Nice is now 2-1 in DFC. Nice is wonderful boxer and probably wants to keep this fight on the feet at all cost because Tsunami has sensational wrestling and brown belt BJJ. Nice is slight underdog in this fight but if he can stop the takedown of Tsunami I think he has good chance to win.
28-year old japanese Dominic Tsunami also enters the DFC cage for the 4th time in his career. Tsunami is still undeafeated in his DFC career with 3 wins. He is coming from 2nd round TKO win against Juan Ignacio Cresta. Tsunami has been climbing up the ranks slowly and win over Dee Nice would be huge to his career and title shot shouldnt be far away. Tsunami will be 6cm shorter than Nice but if Tsunami gets the fight on the ground that wont really matter.
