Hey everyone, and welcome to our Preview of T52: Doe vs Muria! With a lot of recent success for Troid, the management team are hoping this turns out to be another success for the org. Analysis of the events are provided by resident writer, Mickey Goldmill!

Herman Mudgett (0-4) vs Leandro Jones (3-2)

How much longer will Herman Mudgett be in Troid? After a 0-2 start in the organization and his total 0-4 record, he has to be wondering if he can cut it as a professional mixed martial artist. If he can’t right the ship with a win in this fight, he could very well see himself on the unemployment line. Going in the other direction, Leandro Jones has won both of his fights in the Troid fight organization. With another win, Jones could potentially crack the upper rings of the division, while a loss would set him back quite a ways. The Achilles heel for Mudgett has been his submission defense. While Jones isn’t a great submission artist, he’ll still be tested.

Prediction: JONES BY DECISION

Sud Saming (2-0) vs Helder Dias (5-6)

After two very impressive knockout wins in back alley fight organizations, Sud Saming is looking to prove he belongs in Troid with a debut win. Saming is a well-balanced fighter who possesses knockout power as well. His muay thai is highly advanced for someone so young, but he isn’t a one dimensional striker by any stretch of the imagination. He’ll get a real test in his debut fight with Helder Dias. Dias is a great wrestler who tends to grind his opponents down over time. With multiple submission wins, Dias also boasts a very good BJJ base. The ground game of Saming hasn’t been showcased yet, as both of his fights have been over with in less than 90 seconds. If the fight hits the mat, I think the whole world will be curious what Saming can do.

Prediction: SAMING BY DECISION

Miguel Kobe Lombard (9-6) vs Robert Mazzuca (5-2)

After coming into Troid with a lot of hype, Miguel Kobe Lombard hasn’t quite lived up to it as of yet. With two losses in his first two fights, Lombard has went back to the drawing board. Lombard is a very good clinch fighter who also does a great job when the fight hits the mat. He’ll get a stern test in the clinch game department from his opponent, Robert Mazzuca. Mazzuca is also lethal in the clinch and also has great technical boxing that can pose problems for Lombard. After a successful stint in Impact fighting, Mazzuca wasted no time making a name for himself in Troid by defeating former upstart Owen Williams.

Prediction: MAZZUCA BY TKO

Bang Wuzz (5-3) vs Lincoln Osiris (4-3)

After a loss in his debut Troid fight, Lincoln Osiris is hoping his ground game will be able to carry him to a win in this fight. Osiris won’t have an easy time on the ground in this feet though, as opponent Bang Wuzz is an equally talented submission artist. Each fighter has four wins by way of submission, but I would feel comfortable saying Wuzz has faced superior opponents thus far in his career than Osiris. With both opponents being submission artists, it’ll be interesting to see how much of this fight takes place on the feet. Neither fighter has finished anyone with strikes, but the striking could get be the edge one fighter needs if this fight goes the distance.

Prediction: WUZZ BY SUBMISSION

Trev Hartley (7-5-1) vs Kim II Sung (3-2)

Since arriving in Troid, Trev Hartley has been on a war path, winning his first two matches in impressive fashion. Hartley is an older fighter at 27 years old, compared to his 20 year old opponent Kim II Sung. Sung is also very talented on the ground and is probably more advanced in BJJ than his older opponent. While Hartley is the more polished, experienced figher, Sung definitely has the potential to be better. The only question is can the much younger fighter use the tools he possesses to keep the game Trev Hartley at bay. He’ll need to get this fight into the clinch or on the ground to have a good shot at it. Hartley isn’t the greatest in the clinch, which could easily be exploited by Sung.

Prediction: SUNG BY SUBMISSION

Lex Layser (10-4) vs Jack Olin (7-4)

Former champion Jack Olin is looking to get back to the form that won him the title a half dozen fights ago. Olin is as elite of a wrestler as there is in mixed martial arts and also has a staunch BJJ skillset. Although almost all of his wins have come by way of knockout, Olin is very capable of grinding the life out of his opponent with his controlled wrestling. On the other side, Lax Layser has been on the wrong end of back to back first round finishes. Another great BJJ practitioner, Layser uses his submission game much more than Olin. Both fighters are very capable of grinding a fight out and I expect this fight to be just that, a grinder.

Prediction: OLIN BY DECISION

Nate Diaz (8-8) vs Justin Hunter (4-0)

Justin Hunter has been dominant in his first four MMA contests, winning three by knockout. He’ll be tested by a more experienced Nate Diaz in this fight. Diaz has won his last two fights in Troid and is starting to excel as a fighter after showing a weak chin early in his career. While his striking may not be powerful, Diaz’s submission game is capable of producing quick finishes. If Diaz can handle the powerful striking from Hunter, he should be able to control the fight on the ground. Hunter’s ground game hasn’t been tested yet, but the word is he’s no slouch. I think we’ll get a better idea of his BJJ abilities after this fight with a very talented Nate Diaz.

Prediction: DIAZ BY DECISION

Paul Landen (7-2) vs Kasper Koltun (6-5)

Two wrecking balls will square off as longtime Troid fighter Kasper Koltun takes on Paul Landen. Both fighters feature serious power and have the vast majority of their wins by knockout. Koltun is coming off two straight losses, but has been a mainstay in the organization and has proven himself against top quality competition. Landen is 1-1 in Troid and some have suggested a lot of his knockout wins weren’t against high quality competition. He’ll get the chance to disprove that notion tonight as Koltun is known as one of the best strikers around. This fight has a slugfest written all over it, as both fighters haven’t shown much desire to take the fight to the ground.

Prediction: KOLTUN BY TKO

Pika Chu (9-3) vs Tom Hardy (9-6)

Pika Chu comes into the Troid fight organization with a lot of hype. Chu has shown amazing power, with all of his wins coming by way of knockout. With a great boxing base, Chu has also shown the ability to get his opponent to the ground and deliver vicious ground and pound. His opponent, Tom Hardy, is quite a bit different. While Hardy also doesn’t mind the fight getting to the ground, he is a definite submission artist. With over two thirds of his wins coming by way of submission, both fighters will have to tread lightly on the ground. If Chu can avoid the great submissions of Hardy, he should be able to make a successful Troid debut.

Prediction: CHU BY TKO

John Doe (14-8) vs Le Muria (6-2)

After suffering a brutal knockout loss early in round one at the hands of Le Muria, John Doe is back for revenge in the main event of the night. That fight was both of their debuts in Troid and was a very one sided affair. After a lot of swaying from Doe, we have a rematch for some reason. These fighters were both very successful before Troid, so it’s hard to imagine that Le Muria is that much more talented, but it sure looked that way in the first fight. These two heavyweights don’t have much in terms of BJJ, so look for this fight to be another slugfest. Doe has quite the weight advantage in this fight, so it could be a good idea for him to use the clinch and try to outmuscle the smaller Le Muria instead of letting Le Muria dance around him like the last fight.

PREDICTION: MURIA BY TKO

Well that's another event previewed! Be sure to look out for the Review which will be out soon after the event!
