Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

On 24 Jan 2015, The Global Association of MMA presented GAMMA#457 Carlton v Kenichi 2. This event was located at the LA Memorial Colossuseum in      Los Angeles, and was proudly sponsored by GREEN!160 based in Las Vegas. Attendance of 92673 screaming fight fans was impressive and the additional Pay-Per-View of 232,698 brings the total to 325,371 fans who saw this event.

Preliminary fight in the 205 pound division between Chin Of A Girl and Arstan Selmy UNresolved by Draw.

Chin Of A Girl has a record of 7-3-0. Girl is an elite standup fighter with all 7 of his 7 wins coming by (T)KO. He will be looking to make that 8... and Im curious to see if he can...

Arstan Selmy has a record of 8-5-0. Selmy is a sensational fighter and holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but has a mediocre record and only 2 submissions. He has been knocked out 2 times so I wonder if he can stand up to a puncher like Girl...Lets find out...

The fight... Selmy with a takedown right off and Girl trying for a guillotine. After a referee standup Girl gets a takedown and its Selmy with the reversal and submission attempts. In the 2nd round, Girl is cut but gets a takedown and Semy again going for a submission and scoring some GnP. Round 3 had a minute or so of strike exchange for excitement and then it was Selmy with a takedown followed by some submission attempts and some GnP. But the refereee stood them up in time for the end of fight. A well-matched fight and kinda boring really...

Results: The 3 judges all see the fight differently 28:29/29:28/29:29 a draw ! Which I find a bit amazing considering the fight stats show Girl had 5 standing strikes, 0 clinch strikes and 0 ground strikes for a TOTAL of 5 strikes landed. Girl is also credited with 2 takedowns. Selmy landed 8 standing strikes, 0 clinch strikes and 6 ground strikes for a TOTAL of 14 strikes landed. Selmy also had 2 takedowns to his credit...so with almost THREE TIMES as many strikes landed...I disagree its a draw. And i dont count "improving position" as points to be considered since thats as natural to fighting as stepping forward. Hell, when I go to bed at night I work on "improving position". But even if your one of those who DO count improving position, then the 2 more position inprovements Girl had, surely dont balance the 9 strikes difference.

Preliminary fight in the 155 pound division between Parvati Mellia and Gennaro Gattuso ending with a submission due to triangle.

Parvati Mellia has a record of 9-4-0. Mellia is an elite boxer and 7 of his 9 wins come by knockout. He is a crowd pleaser and has 3 awards already in his short career.

Gennaro Gattuso has a record of 17-8-0. Gattuso is a sensational wrestler with a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that he has used to get 5 submissions. So who will be the victor? The standup fighter or the ground specialist? Ah! We are about to see....

The fight... Gattuso quite simply forced his will on Mellia and took the fight to the mat where he could work his submission technique and even though Mellia managed to standup and also get a reversal, he wasnt able to get his striking going.

Results: After 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Gennaro Gattuso!

Preliminary fight in the 155 pound division between Sho Shinjo and Augustus Belvedere IV ending with a knockout by Punch and knee.

Sho Shinjo has a record of 27-21-2. Shinjo is a sensational fighter and holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which he has used successfully in 9 submissions.

Augustus Belvedere IV has a record of 22-13-0. Belvedere is a sensational boxer with 15 (T)KOs so we are likely to see some heavy punches thrown. But Shinjo has only been knocked out 3 times in 40 fights so if he plans to put Shinto down he best "bring it". Do you think he will? Lets find out...

The fight... Belvedere landing strikes and Shinjo with a takedown just to hide from the attack I think, but Belvedere stands right back up so Shinjo starts a kicking attack to try to slow him down. Its all Shinjo the rest of the round including a vicious right hook that drops Belvedere to one knee. After administering a beatdown in the 1st round Shinjo took a break in the 2nd round and Belvedere comes alive with strikes again causeing Shinjo to take him down. And again Belvedere stands back up and during an exchange, suddenly throws a knee that drops Shinjo like a bag of cement. WAAAHAAAA !! That was a beautiful revenge knee WAAAHAAA!!!!

Results: After 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Augustus Belvedere IV!

Preliminary bout in the 170 pound division between Alastair Gridlock and Phan Tran Le ending with a unanimous decision.

Alastair Gridlock has a record of 14-8-0. Gridlock is an elite standup fighter and holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Strangely he has no submissions so perhaps he will surprise Tran Le tonight...

Phan Tran Le has a record of 24-15-0. Tran Le is a sensational Muay Thai fighter but is slightly outclassed in this fight so this is a nice step up for him if he can pull off the win...shall we go see?

The fight... Gridlock immediately dazes Le with a looping left hand and after they exchange blows Gridlock is talking shit to Le. Shortly after that Gridlock connects with a right hook that sends Le down to one knee, and the beatdown just got ugly from there with Gridlock just beating the dogsnot out of Le and then letting him recover so he could beat on him some more. Le went to one knee several times and was rocked a couple times but to Le's credit he didnt give up and he went the distance. And to Gridlocks discredit he should of put Le away instead of playing with him.

Results: All 3 judges see the fight the same at 27:30 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Alastair Gridlock!

Preliminary fight in the 265+ division between Pops Cama and Tamias Poochyena resulting in unanimous decision.

Pops Cama has a record of 19-9-1. Cama is a sensational fighter and is coming of a 1st round knockout by Jt Colossus in his last fight so he has something to prove tonight.

Tamias Poochyena has a record of 31-15-3. Poochyena is an elite fighter and with 26 knockouts to his win column he is hoping to send Cama home thinking about if he's ready to play with the big boys yet...

The fight... Cama lands first and musta scared Poochyena who clinched up. But Cama scored in the clinch also so Poochyena fought back and broke the clinch and went to war. Cama shouldn't of woke that beast up because it was a nasty beatdown from that point on and while Cama got a few shots in along the way it was very few. Cama landed 19 strikes and Poochyena landed 48.

Results: All 3 judges see the fight the same 27:30 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Tamias Poochyena!

Preliminary bout in the 145 pound division pits Umberto Sotto Jr against Timofey Boyko which resulted in knockout by head kick.

Umberto Sotto Jr has a record of 18-13-0. Sotto is highly trained in all aspects of fighting but with 16 of his 18 wins coming by knockout his opponent Boyko best be very careful. But it worth noting that Sotto has been on the ugly end of a knockout 12 times and that tells me there may be a weak chin for Boyko to aim for.

Timofey Boyko has a record of 27-12-1. Boyko is less well rounded but he IS an elite Muay Thai fighter and has 15 knockouts of his own to brag about, so Sotto best keep his hands up around that chin of his. Lets see if he does...

The fight... Sotto comes out swinging and seems to be able to land at will NOT a good start for Boyko. But in the 2nd minute of round 1 Boyko comes alive and quickly takes over the landing strikes games and in the 3rd minute he chops Sotto to the floor with a nice leg kick. Sotto jumps up and rallies nicely but is then rocked by a brutal head kick from Boyko just before the end of the round and its all over. I told you Sotto needs to protect that chin!

Results: After 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Timofey Boyko!

Main card event in the 155 pound division between Yngve Ingvar and Jimmy Snuka ended with an unanimous decision

Yngve Ingvar has a record of 30-13-1. Ingvar is a well rounded fighter in all aspects of the fight and holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. So with 22 of his wins coming by way of (T)KOs, and his BJJ ability so far unused with only 1 submission...this man is not to be taken lightly.

Jimmy Snuka has a record of 24-12-0. Snuka is an elite wrestler and also holds a black belt in BJJ which he has earned 8 submissions with. But he also has 14 (T)KOs, so u cant make a mistake with this guy! So who dominated who? Lets go see...

The fight... 1st round was pretty much all Snuka who came out swinging and landing and got a takedown. Ingvar tried a couple submissions and not much else. 2nd round Ingvar threw some strinks and stuffed some takedowns but Snuka finally got a takedown and in the last minute tried his own submission. Was about even and Snuka got a takedown early. Both men had sweep reversals and both tried for a submission...but when the fight finished I was asleep from boredom and think the referee was the dominate one in the ring.

Results: The 3 judges see the fight slightly differently 28:29/27:30/27:30 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jimmy Snuka!

Main card event in the 265+ pound division between Giuseppe Maldini and Tio Malone ending with a VICIOUS knockout by strikes.

Giuseppe Maldini has a record of 16-9-1. Maldini is a sensational wrestler who must have some serious power to claim 15 of those 16 wins coming by (T)KOs. But from the look of 7 of his 9 losses coming by decision....it seems like his power is absent sometimes...

Tio Malone has a record of 9-2-0 and is a elite boxer/wrestler with all 9 of his wins coming by (T)KOs. So I thinking with these 2 men in the ring together, it smells like a knockout a cookin...so lets see what happened....

The fight... This fight belonged to Malone and was awesome to watch specially if you are the type like to watch a cat play with a mouse. Maldini came out trading with Malone but in the 2nd minute Malone clinched and then cut Maldini with an elbow. That was the star of a nasty beatdown that had the referee ready to step in for much of the slaughter. Malone pinned his mouse against the cage and beat him like a red-headed stepchild and finally dropped him with an uppercut about 3 1/2 minutes into the fight. Needing more sparring practice Malone waved to his feet and then knocked him down 3 more times, each time waving hapless Maldini to his feet for more sparring practice. Timing it just right Malone went for the throat just before the bell and the referee stepped in to save the mouse...I mean Maldini.

Results: After 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tio Malone!

The Co-Main event was a TITLE fight in the 155 pound division between Diego Sanchez and Krystian Wojnasiewicz ending with a unanimous decision.

The Champion, Diego Sanchez has a record of 36-16-2. Sanchez is an elite boxer/Muay Thai fighter with 22 (T)KOs to show he can deliver power.

The Challenger, Krystian Wojnasiewicz has a record of 23-7-0. Wojnasiewicz is an elite boxer/Muay Thai fighter and his striking power has a voice of its own saying "20 (T)KOs out of 23 wins, mess with that"! So did Sanchez escape the power? Lets check...

The fight... Sanchez came out swinging and looking like this was HIS cage but after Wojnasiewicz clinched up and started a 1-way close combat course on Sanchez...poor ol Sanchez started missing everything he threw. Luckily his defenses didnt fade the same because Wojnasiewicz was intent on administering a beatdown but a LOT of his strikes were blocked or missed. Sanchez took an elbow and got cut above the eye just before the end of the round. Round 2 was somewhat an excercise in defense and there were plenty of strikes blocked/missed, but overall it seemed Wojnasiewicz may have landed more, although Sanchez did MUCH better. Round 3 seemed like Sanchez was taking charge of the fight and may have taken the round. Round 4 and 5 both saw Wojnasiewicz clearly dominant and landing for more strikes than Sanchez, although the crotchshot from Sanchez late in round 5 was kinda cool.... but seriously it was a good fight even though clearly dominated by Wojnasiewicz who landed 83 strikes to Sanchez's 62 strikes landed. Any fight with 145 strikes LANDED is worth watching. WAA HAAAA !!!

Results: All 3 judges see the fight the same 47:48 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Krystian Wojnasiewicz! Krystian Wojnasiewicz is the new lightweight champion!

The MAIN event was a TITLE fight in the 265+ pound division between Kyle Carlton and Kenichi Shirahama ending with a submission by rear naked choke.

The Champion, Kyle Carlton has a record of 33-7-0. Carlton is an elite boxer/Muay Thai fighter and his power is best described by saying he has won 33 fights...ALL 33 by knockout...Only question at this point is did Shirahama change that?

The Challenger, Kenichi Shirahama (112324) has a record of 33-15-1. Shirahama holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and over half of his wins come by way of submission. However, almost a third come by knockout. So did he surprise the world by knocking out the "knockoutter" Carlton? Or use his extraordinary submission skills and make him tap? The story is here....

The fight... Well as it should be in a championship fight this was an excercise in strategy and as it turns out...TIMING ! We saw it all. takedowns, reversals, submission attempts and jumping guard and even a cut, but in the end...and I MEAN the end (with 4 seconds of the fight left) Shirahama reversed Carlton and took his back where he threw a couple good shots to distract Carlton from his true intent which was to slip in the rear naked choke and he got it and faster then u can say DAMN, Carlton was asleep with blood coming out his nose....YUMMY! WAHAAAA ! WAA WAAHAAAAA !!! That was SWEETLY done!

Results: After 4:56 of round 5, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kenichi Shirahama! Kenichi Shirahama is the new super heavyweight champion!

Well ladies and gentlemen (and I use those terms loosely) it has been a lovely night of blood and mayhem...but its past my bedtime and this is Kim Jong-un your favorite "Screamun Koreaun", and Im outa here! WAAAAHAAAA !!!
