Editorial by Our weekly visit to the WASPS NEST (2341) in Las Vegas Nevada, brings us in front of Blackwaters owner manager Jason De Rothschild (69073). It is barely 6am and Jason is getting ready for the day with his usual morning ritual.
With his cup of coffee in hand he turns his computer on and checks his bookmarks.
Jason: I check them every morning (talking about MMA blogs and different sites, like UFC, BJJ, and others) I really like being informed on whats happening in the business and how different fighters are doing and what they are thinking. It gives you the fan or follower an insight into the fighters mind. I really find this eye opening and i usually learn from these things.
Jason: Technology wise I also like checking on the nutrients and martial art sites to see what are available for our fighters and also fight improvements in training. We never want to stay stagnant in the gym, we always strive to improve our selves as well as every member on the team. ( WASPS NEST )
Aside from that, do you have any other routine you do in the morning?
Jason: Well I take a look at the fights coming up and start developing our tactics and training for up coming fights. Now we have a good friend of mine K-Rad (50060) of CCF’s Flying Circus (1882) helping us with some fight tactics, strategy and training. After the last set of losses i decided to give him a call, to ask him to join the team. But since he is out in Los Angeles, and he too has his own gym, we could not get him to move here to Vegas. but he visits regularly before each fight and stays a few days before our fights.
So for instance we have two fights coming up, Cantrell and Alex are fighting at Ring Wars 20. So we do our thing to win. ( Jason gives me a smile as if he is hiding some secret training techniques ) These should be a good battle so you guys should watch it.
That seems really cool. Im really impressed with your set up here and the improvements i see weekly. Cheers jason.
Jason: Thanks mate.
You also mentioned that you did a collaboration with your fighters clothing sponsor UFG - Untouchable Fight Gear (3147) for the gym and fighters.
Jason: Yeah I’ve been working with John Hetfield (66130) of UFG and we went through several designs. Actually John was the one who did most of the work I just gave a few ideas his way and he killed it with his designs. He came out with awesome fight shorts and shirts that represents the gym and our fighters.
Im really so happy we did this (John and I ) about the collaboration with UFG and The WASPS Nest because i want to have the right clothes representing our fighters. I believe that your sponsor should be one company you want to represent and vise versa.
So when awhile back i saw UFG and their designs i said this is the company we want to be affiliated with. And now we are happy to have fighters sponsored by them. Thanks John - John Hetfield (66130) and Logan - Logan Ulrich (66201) of UFG for everything. Thanks guys.
Well ok Jason it seems i have taken enough of your time this morning and I just wanted to say thanks, thanks again.
Jason: Anytime man, You’re always welcome here.
Ok then. Once again people coming from the elite training center The Wasps Nest in Las Vegas Nevada, I just wanted to say thanks and see soon. Stay classy Las Vegas.
