Inside The UPF - Clint Hester

Fighter profile of Clint Hester by Dale Saw

Freddy: Hey everyone I'm Fred Meyer and this is Inside The UPF. Last week I told you that we would be sitting down with another young talent the UPF was lucky to sign. Here is the young boxer now, let's hear it for Clint "HeadBu$$a" Hester.

(Clint enters stage right holding a plastic head, which he smashes with his fist as he shouts "HeadBu$$a" walking over to Fred. Shakes hands and takes his seat)

Freddy: Busting heads I presume? Haha! Welcome to the show Mr. Hester. How are you?

Clint: I'm great. How are you?

Freddy: I am doing very well thank you for asking. So Clint, before we even start talking about fighting, I'd like to know a little about the man behind the fighter. What do you do when not fighting or training? What did you do before you were a fighter?

Clint: I've always been a bigger guy then most people my age. And, in high I was always the one people would come to when they needed someone to help them out. After high school, I started to box. Then one day the MMA coach, at the gym, needed a big body to train with and from then on it was all about MMA.

Freddy: So, you were the big guy that backed up your friends in battle when needed, huh? I could believe that. Where you as tall as you are now back in high school?

Clint: Yes I was. I kind of got taller then everyone over the summer and also played football and baseball in high school.

Freddy: So, I heard that last week you were in the mall, I believe, and you accidentally hit a kid in the face. Or something like that. Would you like to tell us that story? Tell us how it happened.

Clint: Well, it wasn't a kid it, was a grown ass man! Who was yelling at a family over a parking spot. I told him it wasnt a big deal and even found one for him closer to the mall. He got out of his truck and started to try and hit me in the face, I dodge his punches and told him to calm down he didn't listen so I had to show him what we can do.

Freddy: Haha! Oh, I was told it was a kid but way to handle the situation. Now if only your fight with Riley Gracie had gone the same way. Haha. So what happened in that fight? Would you like to walk us through that fight and tell us what was going on in your head during the fight?

Clint: Yeah it was a man not a kid (laughs.) Riley Grace is a great jujitsu fighter and is a Abu Dhabi champion. He came out the gate with a takedown that we practice in camp and I defened it well I did stop three takedowns from him, but got caught with the fourth and he got me in the arm triangle. That is something that I cannot do with these guys who are black belts. I know what needs to improve for my next fight and I will work on that but I just didn't get to show everyone what I can do.

Freddy: Well I guess nobody can stop every takedown. And, boy am I glad that I don't have to ever go against a black belt. I'd surely end up with a broken arm or worse. (Chuckles.) So, you think you can come back from that loss against your next opponent, Cant "Think Of A" Name? Name is a very good grappler. How are you going to prepare for the match up?

Clint: Yeah I know I can! Cant "think of A" Name is a good grappler so I'm sure he is going to go with the lay and pray his last fight was a borning fight and he lost to someone who did the lay and pray. I have to fight smart and need to put knee in his face and punch to his head when he come in for the takedown. We both took this fight on a short turn around with no injuries so we can prove we belong in this sport.

Freddy: Very nicely put. We are actually running a little low on time, so one last question; if you could fight anyone in the tycooniverse who would it be and why? Haha!

Clint: whoever is holding the belt at 185!

Freddy: Haha! Well I see you've set a goal then. Obtain the UPF middleweight championship of the world. Not a bad goal I might add. But, I know you're not the only one. Haha. The last thirty seconds are all yours. Anything goes!

(Clint just sits there for 30 seconds with a blank look on his face)

Freddy: Hey Clint you there bud?

Clint: Yeah why?

Freddy: Haha! Well... Anyways, ladies and gentlemen Clint Hester. Lets hear it for him. (Fred turns to clint) Good luck against Cant Name Hester. (Fred looks back at the camera) Alright next week folks is a show you'll all want to watch as I sit down with Mustafiq Rana and we talk about his interesting hobbies. Haha. So tune in next week. Til then I'm Fred Meyer signing out.
