UPF TWO:BACK IN BUSINESS - HARD KNOCKS ARENA - HILO
Undercard
Humberto "Betao" Simoni vs Vic Cooper - 185 lbs
Simoni came out looking to clinch early and force a takedown but Cooper had other ideas and a quick elbow opens a nasty cut on Simoni, a short right put Betao in trouble followed by stiff uppercuts against the cage and its was all over.....Cooper seemed furious at how long it took the ref to step in but anger soon turned to celebration at the victory.
Vic Cooper wins by TKO (1:26 Rd1)
Willie Manahan vs Frank "The True American" Wiedman Jr - 205 lbs
Wiedman got the better of the exchanges early, landing strikes at ease while avoiding wild shots and easily stuffing 5 takedowns to take round 1. round 2 started much the same until a takedown for Manahan followed by multiple submission attempts lead to a tight arm triangle that forced the tap....great turnaround by Manahan.
Manahan wins by Submission (2:34 Rd2)
Over Power vs Andrey "Spartan" Koreshkov - 205 lbs
The fight started out with a brief striking exchange but quickly hit the ground, a tight clinch from Power was nulified by Spartan as he pulled guard and seamlessly swept Power onto his back but bad head placement allowed Over to lock on a guillotine from the bottom and Koreshkov is forced to tap out.
Power wins by Submission (1:46 Rd1)
Landon "The Hitman" Hunts vs Dylan "The Dominator" Meyn - 185 lbs
This bout turned out to be a hard 3 round grind with very few highlights, swapping takedowns in the first which most observers felt probably went to the Hitman. rounds 2 and 3 were more clear cut with Hunts using his muay thai to control Meyn and land body shots to slow him down and take the win.
Hunts wins by decision (30-27) (30-27) (29-28)
Main Card
Vin Deisel vs Vitor "The Phenom" Belfort - 205 lbs
Well that is 2 stinkers in a row as we got a fight where both looked tired early and things got sloppier from there, multiple failed takedowns and half hearted sub attempts from both fighters sent most fans to take a bathroom break and to buy merchandise....i wont bother you with any more details other than to say zzzzzzz
Belfort wins by decision (30-28) (30-27) (30-27)
Bitch "I Am" Made vs Cruze Mcfly - 205 lbs
Well the early finish here really woke the crowd !! Mcfly shot in for a takedown which Made had no answer for and landed in half guard, beautiful hammerfists softened up Made and provided the distraction for Mcfly to advance to mount and more heavy shots force the submission due to strikes.....good finish for Mcfly but Mades trainers look disgusted with his apparent lack of heart.
Mcfly wins by Submission (1:34 Rd1)
Antonio "Livin La Vida" Loko vs Justin Cabrera - 185 lbs
Enjoyable middleweight scrap that turned on a mistake, Early clinches from Loko tried to control the pace while Cabrera looked to counter at every oppurtunity. They locked up but Loko looked to break and reset which proved fatal as Cabrera immediately started to attack the body and when Livin La Vida looked to protect his ribs Justin switched upstairs, A straight right and uppercut put Loko on shaky legs and a series of hooks turned the lights out.
Carbrera by TKO (1:22 Rd1)
Co-Main Event
Jace "The Bone Snapper" Malnon vs Riley "The Young Master" Gracie - 185 lbs
Some nice hard counters from Malnon early as Gracie looks for takedowns, after seeing his attempts stuffed Gracie finally works Malnon to the mat and immediately gains side control and starts working on an arm triangle which The Bone Snapper seems to have under control......until The Young Master switches to an anaconda choke and Malnon refuses to tap so like a true warrior he goes out on his shield.
Gracie wins by Submission (1:55 Rd1)
Main Event
"The Ayatollah" Lord Humungus vs Rick Grimes - 205 lbs
The main event was as beautiful as it was brutal, Humungus looked desperate to get it to the floor due to Grimes obvious power but that was easier said than done....The Ayatollah shot in within seconds but without success and ate a huge counter right hand which left him stumbling, two more failed takedowns were followed by a picture perfect left hook from Grimes that rendered humungus unconscious. Huge credit must go to Mr Grimes for refusing to hit a helpless opponent and walking away, no doubt due to seeing the late stoppage on the undercard......I cant wait to see how far this knockout artist can go in his career.
Grimes wins by KO (0:41 Rd1)
