Mick Shaw Q&A

Fighter profile of Kim Shaw by Alika Webb

Q: Dear martial arts fans today I will pay a visit to Mick Shaw. Mick last time we talked about your very first loss that happened in your promotional debut for the organization Immortals in New York City. You were clearly disappointed and ready to redeem yourself. Now we heard that you signed with Imperial in Amsterdam, is that correct?

Mick: That is indeed the case. The next chapter of my life started sooner than I expected.

Q: What happened to your contract with Immortals, did they release you?

Mick: Unfortunately the owner of Immortals was missing in action for quite a while and people's contracts started to run out, as did mine, so I decided to leave and seek a new home elsewhere.

Q: You said he was missing, does that mean the owner is back? If so, has he made a public statement about what happened?

Mick: I think he's back, but he hasn't made a public statement yet about what happened and why he wasn't able to come online for such a long time. There are a lot of rumors though. First there were rumors that he was spotted in the Amazon jungle looking for a lost tribe. Then there were rumors of the owner getting married. Now most people seem to think that he's actually a secret agent and that he went undercover to prevent a zombie outbreak.

Q: You sound a bit suspicious of those rumors. Do you have any reason to doubt them?

Mick: I don't want to doubt all of them, some claims could easily be true. Others however are simply preposterous. I mean, come on why wouldn't he be able to come online if he got married? That's just ridiculous if you ask me.

Q: Are you glad that you managed to get signed to another company so soon after your release?

Mick: Absolutely, I don't exactly have that much to offer in terms of hype or popularity which are still the most important factors that all orgs are looking for. He gave me an offer I couldn't refuse so I took it. I know it won't be easy for him to find a new opponent for me. But in the end, I'm just a guy standing in front of my boss, asking him for a fight. And I hope my boss will be able to provide me with just that.

Q: Good luck and I look forward to seeing more of you in the future.

Mick: Believe me when I say that if it's up to me, I'll be back!
