"Bored" Preview - The Leftovers

Event Preview: Bored
The Leftovers
2015-07-08, The Island, The Underground - The Island
Author:The Dictator

Hello adrenaline junkies! Craving for some excitement? Well, you won't find it here, it's the island! Welcome to "Bored"! Let's take a look at the top 5 fights that will happen July 8th at the Underground.

#6 Georges Hughes v Sir Ulrich Von Liechtenstin

George is a Canadian wrestler who has still to win a fight at all. His last bout here at the leftovers left him tapping to a triangle from Nick Roberts. Wrestlers without BJJ skills are always a liability so we'll see what his opponent does. Von Liechtenstin, which as his name tells, comes out of the enourmous land of Liechtenstein. He debuts at the leftovers and luckily for his opponent, he has no BJJ skills. He's a Muay Thai fighter looking for his first win.

#7 Jimmie Johns v Piotr Kozak

Jimmie is a grappler who stands now at 1-1 here at the leftovers. He does have a submission of the night award from his victory against the banished Hudson Oliveira and if he can avoid getting TKO'ed, he'll probably get another submission. Piotr is an undersized and unexperieced wrestler and this seems to suit Johns just perfectly. I wonder what Kozak's gameplan will be in his debutting fight.

#8 Cadan Ness v Mark Munoz

Ness is a strange BJJ/Boxer hybrid from Ireland. This combination normally does not make much sense but he can brag on already having both a punch KO win and also a submission victory. Those were fights outside of the leftovers, so let's see if he can repeat it here and come out of this with a 3 fight winning streak. Munoz, who already has a 2-3 record at the leftovers, is looking to rebound from his failed title attempt which he lost clearly against the reigning champ. His skills are all round but he seems to like to wrestle his opponents down and load on the GnP.

#9 Co Main - Ricardo Gerson v Ganbaatar Khan

Ricardo is a BJJ specialist from Brazil who already has 3 wins and is still undefeated. All his wins were by quick submission and his "slowest" victory took him only 1:25. He also has some wrestling skills to support his BJJ game but he really needs this fight on the ground to win. Quite unlike his opponent, Khan is a standup fighter coming of 2 KO's. This fight has title contention written all over it. If the Mongolian can withstand the takedown barrage that is sure to be coming his way, he'll probably take it and challenge the Hammer next.

#10 MAIN EVENT - Lamar Diggs v Cheng Ki Won

Lamar has alternated wins with losses so far and has a underwhelming 1-2 record at the Leftovers. He is still a dangerous boxer and should be handled with caution. He has been facing top competion so far so it looks worse that what it probably is. However, this is a main event, so this won't be easy either. Trying to put Diggs on a losing streak is former title holder Ki Won. Cheng lost his title over a week ago to Muriel but that was his first loss so far. His record of 5-1-1 with 3 title fights speaks for itself and he's itching to be back on the track towards to belt, but he needs to get the takedown. That will be the decisive factor here: if they stand, Lamar will win, if not, Cheng does.
