July 18th will see the debut card of the King of the Beach promotion. This is the future of the Brazilian-based fighting community, so expect to see a lot of action as fighters look to make an early impact in their respective divisions. We’ll also see 8 heavyweight and super heavyweight fighters make their first steps towards the belt.

Opening our main card and Grassroots Featherweight Tournament, we’ll see Cuban BJJ brown belt, Jorge Soler (0-0), make his debut against the American-born, Brazilian-based kickboxer, Don Wilson (3-1). Both fighters should be able to finish the fight early if the fight ends up where they want it, so keep your eyes peeled.

Next up, opening our 8-man Super Heavyweight Tournament, we have a pair of debuting 18 year-olds. Miami’s Neon Uno (0-0) and the Croatian, Mirko Vukovic (0-0), seem to be pretty matched up on the ground, so look for Uno to utilize his crisp boxing against Vukovic’s Muay Thai skills.

Our next super heavyweight matchup pits undefeated Caribbean, Bruce Zimbardo (2-0), against Polish export, Gregor Barnett (1-1). Zimbardo has had great success with his kicks, so look for Barnett to get inside and put his boxing and submission games to use.

The co-main event sees our smallest but most experienced entry into the SHW tournament, as Polish-born, Ezekiel Puchowski (3-0), fights for the first time outside of Russia. He’ll take on Belize-born brown belt, Skyfirge Bunga (0-1), in a clear striker vs. grappler matchup.

Finally, our main event sees a battle of Silva’s, as Thiagus Davaru Silva (2-0) takes on Rio’s own, Gabriel Santos Silva (1-0). Expect Gabriel to be a hometown favorite and use his brown belt and basic striking to slow down the wonderful wrestling attack of Thiagus.
