 It has been a while since i last did an update of the latest news, so here we go!
GAMMA is on a role at the moment. We are currently the largest organization in the game with over 450 fighters signed to GAMMA or one of our affiliate organizations based all over the world. We also broke our own record this week, with 13 Top 100 p4p fighters, which is a personal best.
Will Renan get the #1 spot?
Renan St Juste is 39y old, but i am not too certain he knows that. He last was crowned p4p ranked #1 fighter in the world in May 2013, but is in prime position to repeat that feat over 2 1/2 years later! He has a massive fight against Gutz for the title, which should push him one more step closer to his goal. Currently ranked at #4 worldwide, a win against Gutz could open the door for a massive super fight which could end the cycle.
2x Gunnar's holding titles
It kind of went under the radar, but we have 2 Gunnar's holding titles at the same time! Gunnar Steigelmann is currently holding the 265lbs title where as Gunnar Gustavsson is the newly crowned 205lbs champ. So it is kind of obvious that if you want to be a GAMMA champ, just change your name to Gunnar (ok, that was a joke :-) )
Arthur Curry (92326) Could retire after September 19th
All time GAMMA great Arthur Curry could have his last fight on the 19th of September. Arthur has been with us for a long time, held titles at 185 and 205lbs, but his road could be over very soon. He already lost his title to Gunnar Gustavsson last month, but his career could be on the line on the 19th. He has been considering retiring for a while now, but after moving up a division and winning the title, he kept the run going, so it will all be decided soon.
Ein Stein (182566) Regains title
Ein Stein was on a 4 fight losing streak after losing the title to Timofey Boyko. His career seemed to be going downhill really fast, however after some adjustments to strategy (and some love from the admin for changing the fight engine AGAIN) Ein was on a roll again! Ein won 4 in a row, ironically beating Boyko for the title after losing 2x to him in the past.
Diego Sanchez becomes first 3 time champ!
Diego was always a very large 145/155lbs fighter, standing at 188 cm. However he had 2 short lived title runs in both divisions. He decided to move up to compete against larger fighters. Instead of moving up one division though, he went from 155lbs to 185lbs. Nobody expected him to become a champ straight off the bat though, beating then dominant champ Ricard Cuenca for the title. This has made Diego the first and only 3 time champ in 3 different divisions!
Rau Utu enters GAMMA with a bang!
Rau Utu is a known commodity around the world, a true veteran of Syn, Ascension and Evolution. After long negotiations with GAMMA management he moved over from his previous home (Evolution) to join GAMMA. He beat Doomsday Drost in his opening fight, then beat teamate Tamias Poochyena for the 265+lbs title this weekend. It is safe to say his coming to GAMMA has been highly impressive. He will be fighting Slevin in his first title defense.
Jt Colossus equals Raz Matazz KO's inside GAMMA
Jt is close to beating several record, one of which is the total KOs in the org. At the tender age of 44y, Jt is still going strong! 24 KO wins total so far equals Raz Matazz's 24 inside the org. Raz does however have 3 fights outside the org (via super fights). Jt should be pushing to beat the 24 mark soon and who knows, he could go all the way to take on the 27 total KO record in the future as well.
Jimmy Snuka Equals Submission record (8)
Jimmy has always been a Submission specialist. He now has 8 total submissions which is a GAMMA record held by both Frank Sinatra (8)
and John Heartman (8). The closest active with 7 is Willy Wonka. Jimmy has a high profile fight coming soon and he is hoping to get the one submission which will put him ahead of the competition by 1.
