, , Author:The Dictator Welcome everyone! Here at the Hard Knocks is where our next card is going to take place. And its name could not be more appropriate: Wishful Thinking! This card is stacked with contenders who have so far struck out on the fantastic Leftovers belt. Keep on wishing boys, you might get there someday...The top 5 fights are the following...
#6 Luk Yuha v Georges Hughes
Yuha struck out after putting up an impressive 5 fight winning streak. He then lost to the mighty Palmier and failed to rebound and lost in 5 secs against the highlight reel machine that is T.Khan. George, a competent grappler, has failed to put a consistent string of performaces and has alternated win with loss so far. He's 5-4 and he hopes not to lose again since that will surely leave him out of any contendership. The 6-3 Yuha might not let that happen though.
#7 Luciano Andrade v Cheng Ki Won
Luciano also had his bid to the belt denied 4 fights ago. Since then he's 2-1 including winning his last 2 meaning that a win against this opponent, a former champ, might give him some chances at another try. Cheng, the first 205lbs Leftovers champ has failed twice to recover the belt. Both times he was denied by Muriel. Lately, Cheng is on a 2 fight losing streak and a loss here will surely rule him out for the season.
#8 Mehmet Muhammad v Bo Taka
Mehmet came with big expectations to the Leftovers but all he managed was an unimpressive draw against mid-tier Cadan Ness. He's a former champ, but not a Leftovers champ so I'm not sure what that means. His 6-2-1 overall record is still impressive and his style is also very attractive to the general fans so let's see what he can do this time. Bo Taka came from the same org as Mehmet but he's already fought 3 times for us. After an impressive 2-0 start, he lost to the current #1 contender Bobby Bones. So far, all his wins came without ever reaching the 2nd round so this one is a nice fight of the night candidate.
#9 - Co Main Event - Austin Radovan v Alexander Stubb
The clinch expert Austin Radovan is still waiting for his chance to fight for the title. His performances have been good but he seems to fail at the most crucial moments having already lost twice on the verge of being given a title shot. This time he gets to welcome Stubb who happens to be the current 170lbs champ of the Highland Challengers. His style of fighting is the same of his opponent and he sports a 7-1 record so far with 7 KO's. This is a redemption shot for Austin who his coming from a loss against former contender Morbolev and a good test to see where Alexander stands among our ranks.
#10 - Main Event - Franklin Fitzgerald v Teppo Tavi
Franklin has already lost twice against the champ while Tavi came up short once against Palmier. Tavi is coming to this fight on the heels of a tough loss against Hetfield(who just came short again against Palmier). The two failed title bids from Fitzgerald make him the least likely to get another shot but if he keeps beating everyone else, there might not be any excuse to deny him(He's already on a 3 fight winning streak again). Tavi is 9-2 with us and 3-1 on his last 4. This is the matchup everyone wanted to see, so here it is. This one is the fight of the night favourite from all points of view.
