Legacy! 13

The Montreal Sports Complex

Welcome once again all LEGACY! fight fans, we are here to take an inside look at LEGACY! 13 which will be the first event on this day of 2 and we are hopeful the combination of these two will see us solidify ourselves in the top 20 in the rankings.  Unfortunately this week Russ has been hit hard with rl work so Louie is here to put together a quick event for both shows, the Previews for both L13 & L14 will be shorter than normal but we hope to return next week to regular programming!!   Both of today's shows are on the heels of LEGACY! 12 which resulted in the company's 2nd highest event rating and attendance to take in a LEGACY! event.  The LEGACY! ME sees a Superfight Showdown between rising LEGACY! LHW Champ Patrick Brody taking on Imperial WW Champ Chief Tappenahomma in a catchweight battle taking place in the 185 lbs division.  It is followed up by a rematch of another 2 former Imperial fighters as Arlington Beech does battle with Hiroshimo Sakamoto to settle the score that was started back in July at Imperial 38.

Main Event - 185 lbs Patrick Brody vs Chief Tappenahomma  **Superfight**

Our main event sees a 185 pound Superfight between LEGACY! LHW Champion Patrick Brody taking on Imperial WW Champion Chief Tappenahomma .   Brody comes into this one riding a 6 fight win streak and has gone undefeated during his time in LEGACY! and is looking to up his game against Imperial great Tappenohomma.  Meanwhile the Imperial WW Champ has not lost in his past 8 matches with a draw against Justin Cider being his only blemish.  Brody brings a very well rounded game plan to the cage and enjoys exposing his opponents weaknesses as he can bang with you if needed, take you down and make you tap like you are his little bitch or grind out the W when the option presents itself.

On the other hand Tappenahomma prefers to bang, whether that be at distance or within the clinch and adds an element of vicious elbows to his arsenal that makes most opponents wish they hadn't stepped into the cage.  Brody enjoys a slight height advantage in this one and is the bigger man, the question is will he be able to use that to his advantage or will the perceived speed advantage enjoyed by Chief nulify Brody’s attack.  This matchup has all the implications of a fight for the ages as well as the bragging rights for the winner leading into the soon to be organised LEGACY! vs Imperial battle.  Its too damn close to call other then FOTN is a sure possible outcome.

Co-Main Event - 155 lbs Arlington Beech vs Hiroshimo Sakamoto

Tonight's Co main event sets up between a pair of former Imperial fighters who are looking to find closure following their battle to a draw back at Imperial 38.   That matchup saw Beech clearly winning round 2 and Sakamoto taking round 3 however the judges decided round 1 was a coin flip awarding both fighters 10 points on 2 of the score cards which is what has led us back to this point in what could very well be another FOTN candidate.

On paper Beech has the slight edge standing while Hiro enjoys a slight edge on the ground, and todays winner will be decided by the fighter who is willing and able to defend against their perceived disadvantage and exploit their strengths.  Beech will be enjoying a slight height edge while even though he also enjoys an edge in Muay Thai both combatants possess the ability to unleash crazy lethal head kicks.  Sakamoto has been the slightly more active fighter following their recent draw as he has since seen action on 4 occasions while facing him from the other side of the cage Beech has only stepped into action twice, prefering to enjoy some training time which could very well be the difference in todays match.  Once again this one is far too close to call so we wont even make an effort in calling a winner.

155 lbs Timothy Poggle vs Mason Graham

Our third fight of the night is a Lightweight showdown seeing Timothy Pggle taking on Mason Graham.  Both fighters have enjoyed nothing but success within the LEGACY! cage as Poggle is 2-0 and Graham won his only appearance.

Poggle comes in enjoying a definitive advantage in Muay Thai and BJJ while Graham may possess a slight advantage in Boxing however his successes in that department earlier in his career and will need to return to that style of gameplan today.  Poggle on the other hand has shown he has the ability to rise to the occasion no matter where the fight takes place.  Both fighters are basically the same height with Poggle being the slightly heavier man but the key in this one will be which fighters chin stands up as neither man as had their lights turned off while both have the power to do just that, one will likely look to come out and impose their will on the other and come out on top.  Even though Poggle has the advantage on the ground I have a feeling he wants a shot at Grahams chin because as we all know, the KO win is so much more exciting for the fans to witness!
