Event Preview: TTFC Invades Montreal 24

Author:Mikhail Kamarov

Good evening fight fans from around the globe. I am Mikhail Kamarov and tonight I will be breaking down TTFC Invades Montreal 24. Hosted in the Belle Centre, 21500 obsessed fight fans are looking to scream the arena down!
With a full fight card of ten fights and a championship fight for the main event, it is likely to be an unforgettable night! So introductions are over. Let’s get to the previewing.

The Main Event.

155 lbs – Dennis Page v Lars Thunstrom – Championship Title Fight.

Surprisingly at the age of 42, yes 42! Lars has made a remarkable come-back to get himself into contention for another title fight in TTFC. Having held the title on two occasions before but losing the title in his first defence can the third time be lucky and finally go on a worthy title run?

Dennis Page is a typical ex-pat of Amsterdam. He drinks, he smokes and he enjoys it! But what is a complete mystery is how this fighter has treated his body like a sewer and still knocks people out for fun! Having held his first title defence against Crabby Iron everything was going perfect for the fighter from Wales. But After Hector Camacho travelled to Montreal for a special event super fight doubts have been casted among this brawler.

This fight is a brilliant matchup of two styles coming together for a war! Dennis Page will look to keep this standing and use his speed and punching power to claim another KO victory. Lars will attempt to get this fight to the floor, utilize his weight advantage and go for the submission win. With both fighters experienced in every area of the fight it will be an entertaining fight for the fans.

My prediction is Dennis Page by KO to retain the championship title.

Co-Main Event.

265 lbs – Philip Dyson v Russell Wallace.

This is my favourite fight of the night! With both fighters in their prime and both heavy hitters, it should be an top contender for fight of the night. Equal skills in nearly every skill also show how close this fight truly will be.

Philip Dyson will make his sixth fight in TTFC. Having lost a title opportunity back in May, Philip has put a run of three victories together looking for his fourth to surely put himself into contention for another shot at the title. Philip is a rangy striker who will again look to utilize a height advantage. With an expert jab and some lethal combos to follow Philip will be confident he can test Russell’s chin.

On the contrary Russell thoroughly enjoys the ground aspect of MMA. His short, stocky frame suits his quick level changes for takedowns. With elite wrestling you can bet your house Russell wrestled through college. But to count your chickens that Russell will go for just the takedowns couldn’t be further from the truth. With vicious elbows and a clinch game that any fighter will fear, you need to be on top form to get your hand raised.

My prediction is Philip Dyson by TKO.

Fight number #3.

205 lbs – Apollo Jackson v Alvin Ray Dunkin.

This is a hard fight to predict if you’re betting! On one hand we have Apollo Jackson. An all-around elite fighter but he hasn’t quite put all his skills together to become a top roster fighter. Granted he has fought in some major fight organisations but will he show up and perform or much like his career be hit and miss?

In the other corner we have Alvin Ray Dunkin. With 18 fights in his career I would be wrong saying he is inexperienced. But at the top level that is what he is. Performing in lower level fight organisations he has become an elite striker but his ground skills may be put under scrutiny by Apollo. And with a big disadvantage in wrestling and BJJ, he may struggle if Apollo can get the takedown.

My prediction is Apollo Jackson by TKO strikes.

Fight #4.

155 lbs – Hannibal Barca v Raijin Kage.

This is as plain as game plans get. Hannibal needs the takedown to show his skills on the ground and Raijin should keep this standing and use his massive stand up skills advantage.

Hannibal has had a mixed start in his TTFC career. One win and one loss. Surprisingly that loss came from a submission – but anyone can get caught, right? As previously mentioned this fight is going to end up on the floor at some stage and will Hannibal be able to capitalize?

Although Raijin is a black belt and a sensational wrestler, it would be poor game planning not to use his MASSIVE stand up advantage. But being the shorter fighter getting too close on the inside will put himself at risk of a takedown. So he will need to find his distance early in the fight to land the jab and get back out. |

My prediction is Hannibal by Submission.

Fight #5.

145 lbs – Mike Alton v Pepe LePew.

What the F!*K! 84 FIGHTS BETWEEN THESE TWO FIGHTERS! I don’t think I have ever witnessed so much experience in one cage… And it’s a good job because the skill level isn’t top level (Oops =P)

Mike has a terrible habit of getting himself submitted so against a submission artist that can’t be a good recipe. Mike will need to height, stick to the outside and pick his opponent apart. With that being said Pepe will also be very one dimensional. Takedown after takedown till he lands. Then he can work on a submission. And boy can he submit! With 27 wins ending in submission, you wouldn’t want to roll with this guy.

My prediction is Mike Alton by KO.

Fight #6.

185 lbs – Samuel Romano v Juan Tamad.

Fight #7.

170 lbs – Dom DeLuise v Holden Gracie.

Fight #8.

170 lbs – Sven Dufva v Reggie Anderson.

Fight #9.

170 lbs – Marvin Andrews v Rage Kootz.

Fight #10.

135 lbs - Yngwie Malmsteen v Ogg Nogg.
