 USFC 82 Preview

Hey what up MMA world here is Victorio and guess what? I am so happy right  now. Wondering why? Because I am writing a preview of USFC's 1 year anniversary celebration event: USFC 82! This event will be the biggest one in USFC history as there will be four title fights on the line! Holy shit, the one year anniversary would be HUGE! This event is taking place in Credit Card Center, New York on 26th November. Here is no time to waste, let's get straight to the preview!

LW bout: Ez Muney (6-3, 5-3 in USFC) vs Lamont "The Chosen Son" Sanford (8-5, 2-2 in USFC)

Chon! Starting off the event we have two LW warriors who are coming off with a one fight win streak. They will no doubt looking to eat each other's streak and extend his own. The red corner is Ez Muney who doesn't have a lot of "Muney" but his striking skills are superb. He has world class boxing and decent Muaythai which allows him to score 4 (T)KOs in his 6 wins. He is experienced fighting in USFC with only his first fight which is outside the USFC banner so he must be really familiar fighting here. His opponent is a well-rounded fighter who got a win by Majority decision in USFC after the new management. He even changed his name from Jussi Hempele to Lamont Sanford to celebrate the win...I guess. Sanford has high level skills all around but he is mainly a technical striker who can box, kick and clinch to outwork his foes. Despite having less KO power than Muney, Sanford is more technically sound and has better skills overall so I favor him. Muney has power but Sanford has a good chin as he only finished once by strikes in 13 fights. Sanford's kickboxing offense is diverse enough to neutralize Muney's punch-only tactic. Also Sanford's wrestling is good enough to control Muney in the clinch too. Sanford's power won't grant him a finish but a clear UD win in my opinion.

Prediction: Lamont Sanford wins by Unanimous Decision

LW bout: Victor Stoic (8-7, 6-3 in USFC) vs Tony Sassano Jnr (8-1, 3-0 in USFC)

For the second fight we have another pair of LW warriors who won three straight in USFC. Both men have good record in USFC stage and also trying to prove they're the real contenders. Anyway, there will be only one can come out as a victor! The red corner Victor Stoic has a rollercoaster-esque run in USFC as he won his first three fights, then lost his next three and won his most recent three fights. He wants to make sure the pattern won't happen again with a win over Tony Sassano Jnr. Stoic is an aggressive GnP wrestler who gives no room for his opponents to defend his takedowns and when he can take it to the mat, it would be all over quickly. His GnP allows him to get 7 (T)KOs in his 8 wins. Anyway, can his gameplan work against Tony Sassano Jnr, the man who's unbeaten in USFC? TSJ is manager Tony Sassano's loved son and he has decent boxing and BJJ purple belt which makes him a well-rounded finisher. He has 4 wins by (T)KO and 2 wins by submission who loves to find any place to score a finish. He can knock guys out in distance, inside the clinch or tap guys out from top position. I believe TSJ will win by knockout. Let's say Stoic can take him down and pound him, TSJ has better BJJ to defend it, don't forget his chin is tough too as he never been KO'd so he would be fine. Also, Stoic has been finished by strikes 5 times so I doubt he can take TSJ's punches. I think TSJ knocks him out in second round.

Prediction: Tony Sassano Jnr wins by second round KO

WW bout: Devas Tator (4-3, 4-2 in USFC) vs Adrik "The Kraken" Vasilev (9-2, 2-2 in USFC)

Ding Ding! In the third fight we have two young WW prospects who are going to extend their win streak. This fight could deliver! The red corner is Devas Tator who has a "devas Tating" name and I've heard he's a former model. Well, here is MMA though so it doesn't help. Tator is a very well-disciplined prospect as he has high level striking, top notch wrestling and a BJJ brown belt. He can reach every area just to kick ass. Punches, kicks, clinch, takedowns,  submissions or whatever, he would try them until he finds a way to finish it off. His counterpart is also a disciplined fighter in Adrik Vasilev who has very technical striking. He is accurate with his punches and he is a very good dirty boxer too. He also has dangerous KO power which grants him 8 (T)KOs in his 9 wins. In standup I think it would be a tie up because both men are evenly matched skill-wise. On the ground I will give it to Tator because of his top notch wrestling and better Jiu-Jitsu. Anyway I think Vasilev will extend his win streak to four because Tator's biggest weakness is what Vasilev will do best to expose. All of Tator's losses are by (T)KO so Vasilev can knock him out if he landed clean. Tator might outwrestle him or tap him out but Vasilev has never been submitted and with his power anything could happen.

Prediction: Adrik Vasilev wins by 2nd round TKO

LW bout: Hannibal Barca (7-3, 0-0 in USFC) vs "Old Iron Tits" Matthew Ridgeway (12-3, 4-2 in USFC)

In the forth bout we have a stylistic matchup in the LW division. The grappler Hannibal Barca is the red corner and he is a debutant in USFC who is looking to shine in his debut. Barca is a world class wrestler with a BJJ black belt. Interestingly, all of his four submission wins happened in his first four fights. He found love of his GnP in his last win in TTFC which can be his alternate weapon against the striker Matthew Ridgeway who has a fun nickname. He is the former kickboxing champion in XKC which proves that he is a striking machine. He has exceptional kickboxing skills and also powerful in the clinch. He scores 9 (T)KOs in 12 wins, including 5 in kickboxing rules bout to show how powerful he is. This fight is an interesting one because if Barca could take the fight to the ground, he would win as there is a big gap between two men's BJJ. If Ridgeway and keep the fight on the feet, he could win no doubt but Barca has never been knocked out so I believe his chin is solid enough to take Ridgeway's power strikes before scoring takedowns of his own. On the ground, Barca will be very aggressive looking for submission and eventually get it done.

Prediction: Hannibal Barca wins by first round submission

LHW bout: Jack "Scotch" Daniels (8-4, 6-4 in USFC) vs Javier Martinez (9-4, 7-3 in USFC)

This is a LHW match between two warriors who have 10 fights in USFC. The red corner Jack Daniels, who used to be running a 6 fight win streak, who lost three a row recently. Despite the change of management, he still couldn't get a win to rebound. He is a very effective Muaythai striker who loves to clinch and knee his opponents. Perhaps his plan is exposed so he would need to find a new plan to win but he would be fighting the former 3-time USFC LHW champion in Javier Martinez. This is a tough, tough, tough match for Mr.Daniels and I don't see him winning. Martinez is such a top notch fighter in the LHW division. He just lost his belt to Chad Tyrell but we all know he has the heart of a champion as he never gives up to try to win titles despite losing it several times. His resume is also a solid one as he holds over the reigning champion Chad Tyrell and the former champion Ragnar Sigurdsson. Daniels would be in disavantage just take a look at these facts. Martinez is also a type of fighter who can dominate Daniels. He has decent boxing, world class wrestling and a BJJ purple belt. His favorite tactic is GnP to death. The only disadvantage for Martinez is Muaythai but even though the fight taking place in the clinch which Daniels does best, Martinez' wrestling can compensate. With the wrestling level disparity, Martinez will easily take Daniels down and pound him out. Daniel's three submission losses show that his ground game is not enough to survive against such fighter in Martinez. Martinez' road to back to the title fight won't be long with an impressive win against Daniels.

Prediction: Javier Martinez wins by first round TKO

MW bout: Alex "The Grappler" Graves (10-8, 1-0 in USFC) vs Mr Universe (14-2, 5-1 in USFC)

This is the last non-title fight on the card. Two MW warriors are going to steal the show before the champions make the crowd goes crazy! The red corner Alex Graves a.k.a the grappler is a grappler...oh wait. Yeah he's the grappler who has a BJJ brown belt and decent striking. He used to be a LHW fighter who held a belt in SFC and having a 0-2 record in TWGC. Despite the winless record in grappling matches, Graves is a dangerous grappler in MMA as all of his 10 wins are coming by way of submission. I am doubting if he is going to win this match against the brown belt killer in Mr Universe. Mr Universe doesn't have a real name but he's for real. He beat my fighter Michael Van Roost twice and he is a Muaythai machine and a legit example of a anti-grappler. He beats two good brown belts in USFC. Mr Universe can utilize his good TDD, clinchwork, bloody elbows and effective defensive grappling to beat Graves. These are his tools against grapplers and Graves won't have answer for them because Graves' chin is very suspect as he recieved 7 (T)KO losses in his 8 defeats. Mr Universe wins all of his 14 wins by (T)KO so I believe he can easily beat Graves. Even though Graves can take him down, I believe in Mr Universe' defensive grappling despite being a blue belt. I reckon the fight will be ended early in the first round.

Prediction: Mr Universe wins by first round TKO

FW title fight: "Mister" Euphegen Doubdtfire (3-2-1, 3-1 in USFC) vs "The Outlaw" Neymar Junior (c) (14-2, 12-0 in USFC)

So the first title fight of the card is the FW title fight between the looooong time FW champion, the most wanted Neymar Junior and the challenger, who wins three in a row and looking to end Neymar's reign, Euphegen Doubdtfire. Neymar Junior, just as Jose Aldo, is the only FW champion in USFC and defends his title for straight 11 times and 10 of them were ended by (T)KO. As a monopoly, Neymar is going to extend his streak against Doubdtfire with another knockout victory. Neymar's secret of being such champion is because of his world class striking and his outstanding KO power. He knocked challengers out like they are Glass Joe. The ability of him to find his opponents' chin is incredible. The only way to beat him is to take him down but seems like a few of his challengers attempted or successfully did that plan. Neymar's 75% TDD and excellent escape technique is going to be a big role against Euphegen Doubdtfire who has excellent skill sets.
Doubdtfire is a well-rounded fighter who appears to have even better skills than the champion. He has good power and also a technical ground game. Despite being a winless fighter in his first three fights, it looks like Doubdtfire has improved vastly and wins three in a row after the bad streak. Even though skill-wise they are quite evenly matched but in standup I still favor the champion, who scores shit tons of knockouts against solid challengers. On the ground, I think Doubdtfire can edge it but in Neymar's fights, they rarely took place on the mat so I don't see Doubdtfire can actually work something big there. Neymar will score an impressive knockout against the challenger, who has never been KO'd. Well, I can count at least five challengers that never been KO'd that Neymar got the job done so let's go champ! Neymar will win by third round TKO just like he always did.

Prediction: Neymar Junior wins by third round TKO to retain the FW title

MW title fight: Kevin "Swamp Thang" Wallace (10-2, 0-0 in USFC) vs Jermaine "Razor" Wright (c) (10-3, 5-0 in USFC)

Shit! I am so pumped up for this one! This is the MW title fight between my idol, the MW champion Jermaine "Razor" Wright and the challenger Kevin Wallace who never fought in USFC and his management just changed. When you know the challenger is a debutant, that means Razor Wright has no challenges left inside the USFC. Razor Wright isn't a loooong time champion like Neymar but he shows what champions need in his three title fights. He has world class striking, granite chin, endless volume, surprising power and near-infinite cardio which makes him a champion and also my idol. He beat my fighter Michael Van Roost before, yeah, Michael again. Razor Wright is such an elusive fighter to beat because you will never know which second he will turn the lights out. His style is mainly pressuring his foes and smothering them with high volume of strikes but he can suddenly knock a guy out. He is some kind of a slow starter but he will find the chin at a certain moment. That makes the challenger Kevin Wallace worrying about the champion. Wallace is a smart fighter who has decent striking, world class wrestling and BJJ purple belt. He can box at distance and clinch and also would like to take his opponent down or pull guard to utilize his ground game. Wallace tends to score knockouts because he has really good KO power as he scores 7 (T)KOs in his 10 wins. With this kind of style, Razor Wright should be careful. In standup, Razor Wright can outwork Wallace. Perhaps Wallace has that power but Razor Wright's chin can take his shots like sandwiches. Wallace will try to take the fight to the mat too but the champion has perfect TDD so forget it. Razor Wright will win by another late round TKO after he outworks Wallace in my opinion.

Prediction: Jermaine Wright wins by forth round TKO to retain the MW title

Co-main event

WW title fight: Arto "Stoneface" Blomsten (12-2, 2-1 in USFC) vs Cornelius Carr (c) (9-3, 5-0 in USFC)

Well, I don't think this card has such thing called "co-main event" because every title fight in thid card can headline an event. And this is the WW title fight, the long-awaited rematch between the reigning WW champion who is coming back after a month lay-off Cornelius Carr and the challenger who gave Carr a tough fight in their first encounter, Arto Blomsten. Talking about the first encounter, before Carr finished Blomsten in fifth, the fight was all tie up with Blomsten took the first two, and Carr took the next two. The rematch will be very interesting and it would be another challenge for Carr. Carr is unofficial twin brother of Alistair Overeem. He is an excellent striker who packs KO power and has non-stop pressure and great cardio who can hurt his opponents all the time. He is a worker in standup and the clinch so he is such a hard fight for any challengers. The hungry challenger Blomsten is looking to make the fight competitive again with his effective kicking game and top notch wrestling offense. He was able to get through some hard kicks and smooth takedowns against Carr and he will be using them without a doubt. This fight, in my opinion will be another close match as the first match. And I still think Carr can win it because Carr is just too good at wearing down his opponents but I can see Blomsten can correct his mistakes and loses by close Unanimous Decision. Carr may have some ring rust but he is training so well and he's very confident coming to the fight.

Prediction: Cornelius Carr wins by Unanimous Decision

MAIN EVENT

LHW title fight: Miro Bang (8-2, 4-0 in USFC) vs Chad "Phantom" Tyrell (c) (14-2, 3-1)

Heeeeeyyyyy! This is the main event of the one year anniversary! And this is the LHW title fight between the newly-crowned and 2-time LHW champion, P4P #2 in USFC Chad Tyrell and the challenger who is undefeated in USFC, Miro Bang. The champion Tyrell beat Javier Martinez to win the LHW title in his last fight and looking to defend it successfully for the first time. He is like Mirko Crocop in the USFC, knocking guys out left and right with his trademark head kick who scored 8 headkick KOs in his 11 (T)KO wins. Even though he beat Martinez by submission which is his only submission victory, he will no doubt looking for another trademark knockout against the ground wizard Miro Bang. I remember when I was writing for SSFC, I described Bang as an "ultra-talented grappler" and look how he is performing now? Just outstanding with his win streak and a win over the former champion in Ragnar Sigurdsson. This will bring him a strong momentum against the champ. Bang has top notch wrestling and a BJJ black belt which can threaten Tyrell who has only 52% TDD. Ironically, Bang's TD rate is 52% so it would be a matter of time that Bang can score a takedown. Tyrell has the power to finish Bang but Bang's striking defense looks good against such powerful striker in Sigurdsson so I am smelling an upset. Bang's relentess takedown attacks and effective striking defense will play as a big role and he will totally shut Tyrell down and tap him out in the second round after a close first round. Bang will be the new LHW champion. It would be great if a change of the title happened before the event ends.

Prediction: Miro Bang wins by second round submission to become the new LHW champion

So here is the preview of USFC 82! I hope you guys like it! I can't fucking wait for this one because this event is just crazy! As an event of one year anniversary, I hope the event will draw a lot of fight fans' attentions and also make the USFC better than ever! So guys please keep in touch with USFC and ready to witness the greatness of USFC 82 on 26th November!
