Jay: Hey everybody, Jay here, welcome to Ray and Jay's Excellent MMA Adventures. Today on the show we will go over UPF 29: Wayne Vs. Angelov. But, before we get into it, I would like to apologize for no show last week. There was an issue with the television station, I thought we were going to taken off the air. But, UPF owner Dale Saw took care of things and we are back! And it feels great to be back, even though it was only a week. But, to get down to business. You ready, pops? Tell them about the opening fight.
Ray: Alright we have a great night of fights coming your way. We start off the undercard with a super-heavyweight fight. Lukas "Mini" Hradongogoh and Aaron "Beast" Work will square off. Both of these guys are looking to turn things around after coming off a string off losses. Aaron Work will be looking to drag Lukas to the mat. While Lukas wants to keep it standing. I don't think that Aaron has the necessary skill to take Lukas down. And he for sure doesn't have the skill to stand and bang with him. Lukas by KO in round 2.
Jay: Lukas Hradongogoh and Aaron Work. Battle for the bottom spot on the totem pole. (Laughs) But, you gotta start somewhere, right? Now as for what you said pops, I don't think you are right about Works shoot takedowns. He actually lands 80% of his shoot takedown. Which is excellent! Plus Work has a slight advantage in Muay Thai, so we might even see a takedown from the clinch. Either way I feel that Lukas will have a hard time stopping Works takedowns and Aaron "Beast" Work will finally get his first UPF victory.
Predictions
Ray: Hradongogoh by KO at 2:00 of round 2.
Jay: Work by Submission at 1:36 of round 2.
Jay: So, in our next fight, Hammer "Thumper" Hands will face Matt "the wizard" Lethal for three rounds in the welterweight division. The Wizard will be making his debut in this one against a well known UPF fighter. Thumper lost his title shot and is looking to get back on track and move back into the number one contender spot. But, the wizard also wants to move up in the division by using Hands as a stepping stone. But, Thumper is NO stepping stone, I'll tell ya that much now! Lethal has lethal hands with exceptional boxing skills and has the Juijitsu skills to match Hands. Hands will most likely try to utilize his wrestling and Muay Thai advantage and take the fight into the clinch. Tough one to call. But, I'm going with the new blood on this one, but no real reason as to why. Lethal by KO in round 3.
Ray: Hands will looking to bounce back after his unsuccessful title shot. You know what, I think he will. This boys got a lot of talent, and I see him going places in the UPF. Hands by KO in round 3.
Predictions
Jay: Lethal by KO at 4:55 of round 3.
Ray: Hands by KO at 1:18 of round 3.
Ray: Ok, next up is a lightweight match up with Craig "Bones" Jones and Cooper Lawson. The UPF newcomer doesn't stand a chance in this one, unless he lands a lucky punch. Jones will have him on the mat and tap him out before the first minute of the fight. Jones by submission in round 1.
Jay: Pops, you're forgetting this is MMA. There is always a chance. So, that being said, I feel that Jones does have a chance. But, a very small chance at that. If he can catch Lawson slipping and land the takedown, Jones MIGHT stand a chance. But, Lawson will bash his brains in before that ever happens. Lawson by KO in round 1.
Predictions
Ray: Jones by Submission at 0:48 of round 1.
Jay: Lawson by KO at 1:13 of round 1.
Jay: Now, to finish up the undercard we have a unique match up, at least to me. (Laughs) It's a super-heavyweight fight and both fighters are managed by close friends of mine. You've got UPF's President of Operations, Jamie McKenna and his fighter "Last King of Scotland" James McKenna, I think they are related (laughs), in the red corner. And, in the blue corner is Jack LaBear and his rising star, Aaron Jules. This is your classic stand up vs grappler match up. Jules will be looking to keep this one on the feet at all cost. While, McKenna should be balls to the wall, put everything into bringing the fight to the mat. I think if McKenna gets the takedown than Jules is toast. But that's where I see the problem. McKenna has a very low takedown percentage and Jules has never been tested with a takedown. In the end I see the UPF prevailing and McKenna taking home the victory by way of submission in round 2.
Ray: Jules surprised me last time out. I've watched Jules develop and I'm really not impressed with him. I don't expect him to last long in the MMA world. And I think this fight will be the beginning of his downfall. McKenna by sub round 1.
Predictions
Jay: McKenna by Submission at 3:12 of round 2.
Ray: McKenna by Submission at 1:09 of round 1.
Ray: We start off the main card with a banthamweight match up between Yaseen Kruger and Roni Sabian. I don't expect this fight to be very competitive. Kruger will have his way with Sabian. The question is; how long will he toy with him before he knocks him out? Kruger by KO round 2.
Jay: Well this fight shouldn't be allowed. It's like putting a goldfish in a shark tank and say it's a fair fight. And, Roni's the goldfish. Kruger has lunch early in the first.
Predictions
Ray: Kruger by KO at 2:26 of round 2.
Jay: Kruger by KO at 1:23 of round 1.
Jay: So this next one is one I've been waiting on for quite some time. AJ "Masters" The Perfectionist will face "The Technician" Jeffrey Taylor for three rounds in the welterweight division. This one will be fireworks as the Juijitsu blackbelt, Taylor, puts his undefeated record on the line against a very dangerous striker in AJ. This one is very tough to call as both of these fighters have tremendous amounts of skill. But, someone has to win and I think that someone will be Taylor. I think he will score the takedown and force the tap.
Ray: I think you're right about it being a tough fight to call. But I think that you picked the wrong fighter. I think Taylor probably will get the takedown but I think that AJ will handle himself fine on the ground while out scoring Taylor in the stand up. The Perfectionist by decision.
Predictions
Jay: Taylor by Submission at 3:22 of round 2.
Ray: The Perfectionist by decision.
Ray: Next up we have a middleweight match up with Opananu Milan and "Deathlok" Mike Peterson going toe to toe for three rounds. I think experience will be the deciding factor in this one. Peterson is a talented fighter no doubt. But, he just isn't ready to face the likes of Milan. Milan by KO in round 3.
Jay: I believe you are incorrect. I think that not only is Deathlok ready for this fight but he is also ready for Vic Cooper. Yes, I said it. Mark my words, "Deathlok" Mike Peterson will be the UPF middleweight champion.
Predictions
Ray: Milan by KO at 1:45 of round 3.
Jay: Peterson by KO at 3:28 of round 2.
Ray: There is no way that Deathlok will beat Too Sexy! Not today, not tomorrow, probably not ever!
Jay: Haha, you're funny pops. Anyways, we finish off the main card with a super-heavyweight bout. The former Steel Peen Icon: Helsinki super-heavyweight champion Torquil Bram will be making his UPF debut against Mawzer VaraKolaudov. Have only seen defeat once Mawzer will be looking to welcome Torquil into the UPF with style, ground and pound style. The new blood will be looking to keep this one standing though. But, honestly, I feel that the awesome wrestling skill that Mawzer shows will be too much for the UPF newcomer. Mawzer by TKO (ground and pound) in round 2.
Ray: You know Jay, you could be right about this one. IF it were to make it into the second round. But, unfortunately for VaraKolaudov, I don't think this one will make it out of the first round. I don't see any way VaraKolaudov would be able to stand up to the awesome power of the UPF newcomer. Bram by KO in round 1.
Predictions
Jay: Mawzer by TKO at 4:12 of round 2.
Ray: Bram by KO at 0:22 of round 1.
Ray: Alright, here we go, we are now down to the main events of the evening. First is a lightweight title fight, the current reigning, defending champion of the world Michal "The rebel without a clue" Korek will allow Combo "Striker" King a shot at his belt. This is my upset of the evening. I was down at the Roosters Coop yesterday watching King spar. And this kid has a hell of a right hand. The champ is coming off 7 straight wins and plans on coasting to number 8. I think King is going to surprise him here. King by KO in round 2.
Jay: King had his shot once and failed. And that was against a lower skilled champion. It is ludicrous to think that King can win, no it's out right lunacy. King is just not at that level of competition, yet. Maybe not ever. Korek keeps his belt by way of KO in round 2.
Predictions
Ray: Big Upset King by KO at 1:37 or round 2.
Jay: Korek by KO at 2:22 or round 2.
Jay: And for the final fight on the card. "Bate Pepo" Peter Angelov finally gets his well deserved shot at the reigning, defending, undefeated, undisputed UPF welterweight champion of the world, Bruce "Batman" Wayne. Chooooooooon! Ray, I think Batman might be my favorite fighter, now there is a rumor that Batman is going to fight for GAMMA as well as the UPF. A true champion through and through. Sorry Peter but it is just not your time, yet. Bruce Wayne will keep his belt by defeating Angelov in the second round via KO.
Ray: I think that if Angelov wants to win this fight, then he has to call in some reinforcements. But even that may not help. But maybe Angelov and superman combined just MIGHT be able to beat Batman. Even that's not for sure. Wayne by KO in round 3.
Predictions
Jay: And still the welterweight champion, Wayne by KO at 2:13 of round 2.
Ray: Wayne by KO at 3:00 of round 3.
Jay: As far as the Justice League is concerned, nobody beats Batman! Haha. Well there you have it, now for a little Christmas spirit, sing it with me - 10 amazing fights, 9 potential KO's, 8 purple belts, 7 knockout artists, 6 Hilo fighters, 5 UPF debuts, 4 unknown names, 3,000 seats, 2 title fights, and a champion that undefeated. (Laughs) Merry Christmas early. And I'm off to take my dab. Peace! (Stands up and walks away)
Ray: Merry Christmas everyone, see you next week.
