Ascension Gods of the Arena Preview

Event Preview: ASC 94 : Gods of the Arena
Ascension
2012-06-16, Los Angeles, LA Memorial Colossuseum
Author:Speedy Gonzaitev

The preview is a little late this week due to some late night computer problems but better late than never as its time for another edition of Inside Ascension with your host, yours truly, Alexi Zaitev. Tonight we have two huge heavyweight fights as the heavyweight champion of Vicious Fights in Helsinki Oleg Karev visits LA to take on Victor Creed who is coming off a huge win over Merrimac Mjolnir, who coincidentally is in our co main event of the evening. Sebastian Bantrell is his opponent for our other titanic clash of heavyweights on tonight's card. Without me rambling any more, its time for the fights!

Opening Main Card Fight
Pat vs Foreman
We open the main card with a big time fight in our openweight division with the ex heavyweight boxer Foreman takes on  true mixed martial artist in Pat. Foreman holds a huge experience edge with his 18 career fights to Pat's 2. However, Pat holds a edge in almost every primary. With his exceptional boxing and muay thai, his wonderful wrestling and bjj purple belt, Pat can fight anywhere and at anytime time. Foreman on the other hand is a specialist, with his sensational boxing, competent muay thai, remarkable wrestling and bjj blue belt, he definitely prefers to throw haymakers like they are going out of style. The more Pat can make this a technical fight rather than a slugfest the better his chances are. We don't know much about Pat's chin but I think it is good enough to withstand the early barrage before Pat lands a head kick to put Foreman to sleep.

Featured Main Card Fight
Cullen vs Christianson
To call Cullen a pure grappler is a mistake on epic proportions, he just prefers to grapple but with his ridiculous power he doesn't need much to put most fighters to sleep. Christianson on the other hand is a truly complete martial artist, with no visible holes in his game. Cullen has strong boxing and muay thai, exceptional wrestling and a bjj black belt which has claimed 9 victims so far. Christianson on the other hand has sensational boxing, exceptional muay thai and wrestling, and a bjj brown belt. Christianson is undefeated in 11 career fights with 10 of those by stoppage due to strikes. Cullen';s only two losses were by T(KO) so his chin is a little suspect. However, if Cullen gets you down, I would not want to mess with him. He has one of the best top games in the business, so you cannot count him out in any fight. But I think Christianson will take this one by TKO.

Co Main Event
Bantrell vs Mjolnir
Two of the top heavyweight sluggers enter the cage for our co main event here tonight. With a combined 45 T(KO) victories in their careers, these two fighters are very much accustomed to leaving the cage after a fight with their opponent unconscious. Bantrell enters the cage with sensational boxing, elite muay thai, exceptional wrestling and a bjj brown belt. Opposing him is Mjolnir with his elite boxing and muay thai, exceptional wrestling and bjj brown belt. Both these fighters prefer to stand and bang but that has cost Mjolnir as his rice paper skin has been busted open repeatedly, but when you hit as hard as Mjolnir does, its hard to resist putting your face through your opponents face. I picked Mjolnir to beat Creed in his last fight and I was wrong. My best guess is Bantrell by TKO (Cut).

Main Event
Heavyweight Super Fight
Champion vs Champion
Karev vs Creed
And its time for the fight everyone has been waiting for as the heavyweight King of Vicious Fights visits LA to take on the heavyweight king of LA as Oleg Karev takes on Victor Creed. Creed has only suffered one defeat in his career but that is a distant memory as he just beat the legend Mjolnir in his last outing. Karev has been just as hot with all of his last 5 fights ending in T(KO) victories. Karev enters the cage with elite boxing and muay thai, sensational wrestling and a bjj brown belt. Opposing him is the Ascension heavyweight champ Creed with his elite boxing and muay thai, sensational wrestling and bjj purple belt. This fight comes down to whose chin or skin can survive the longest because I doubt this fight will hear the judge's scorecards. I was forbidden to very pick a LanceTempleton fighter by the man himself so by that order I am picking Karev by TKO.

And there you have it folks! Another great card put out there for you by Ascension! I am
